The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers A4/B4 1st Press UK Withdrawn Gatefold Vinyl Record COC 59100 Zip. Released on 23rd April 1971, the serious collectors will know this is a first pressing A4/B4. Pressed before the album was released from first generation lacquers. The condition of the vinyl speaks for itself, just beautiful. All first pressings of this album have T. ROLLING STONES RECORDS hand-etched in the runout grooves (The Mastering Lab). Later pressings were not pressed there and suffer from a far less dymanic sound. There is a world of difference in the soundscape once compared to any other pressing. It is subtle but definitive. The sleeve has aged very well indeed for a 1971 album. The zipper is small and square as it should be. The following iteration was the round PAN zipper. The insert here is German. Of course what makes this item somewhat of a holy grail piece is its original and hastily withdrawn gatefold sleeve. Very few escaped and less so, exist in this condition. If youre after this pressing with gatefold, I very much doubt youll find a better example for some time. Sad to let this go. In fact Im quite happy to have it framed!
