Dating from around 1920, this a beautiful C19 Thomas Edison phonograph – the most deluxe of all phonographs from the era. Inside is an original Edison gold medallion, and the patent is dated from 1903 to 1915. This exquisite antique is in top condition for age and use, it’s odorless from being in a nonsmoking environment, but there are minor blemishes in the wood on top. This wind up record player works beautifully; there is an automatic shut off, volume lever and speed control. Included below in the lower cabinet on this American-made antique are 48 record files, although a total of 72 can be stored within. In addition to the diamond stylus, the C19 features included a variable speed turntable, a volume control mechanism, a double spring motor, a 15 internal horn, and a Chippendale cabinet that can hold 72 records. There is a sliding ear muff volume control, speed, and off switch plus lever drop cuing. Set upon 4 original wheels. All parts present excluding key. Operates smoothly and quietly. Dimensions: 51 Tall x 23 Wide x 25 Deep. Hinged Cover: 22.5Length x 21Width. Thomas Edison invented the phonograph in 1877 and presented it in 1912. The disc technology was far superior to that of other manufacturers, and the company repeatedly demonstrated its superiority through a series of public tone tests. The result was that the C19 was Edisons finest, most deluxe phonograph.
