Private Press Psych Vinyl Rarities Lot! 13 For One Price Most Sealed
Here are 13 mostly sealed original first pressings private presses from 70’s -80’s… All of these have a high price tag individually. CARL ERDMANN “BIZARROPHYTES” U. PRIVATE 1981 SEALED? Trancey sitar by carl with some terrific melodic sounds. KEVIN VICALVI “VOICES DOWN THE HALL”U. Private 1974 SEALED W LYRIC FOLDOVER, STICKER AND POST CARD. This is stellar mid-70’s loner folkrock in the vein of Richard Soutar and some Tim Buckley, with vocals closer to Soutar. Title track will stay in yer head for days, nice warm analog sound, with instrumentations almost veering into a’real people’ sound, just a slight bit more’pro’. “Old Richard” is also killer, jazzing it up a bit, kind of sounding like some of those early Steely Dan demos. The whole album is just totally groovy, and anyone into the late 60’s to mid 1970’s private press scene will totally dig on these mellow rockers. NEWS “HOT OFF THE PRESS” (PRIVATE PRESS) 1974 SEALED ORIGINAL. The style of the album is a mix of Classic Rock, Pop Rock, and Psychedelic with influences from Rock, Country Rock, and Folk. The album was manufactured in the United States and is a must-have for collectors of vintage vinyl records. Recorded at the same studio as the legendary D. This 1974 vinyl LP and the real treat here are the ten original songs are melodically inspired psych pop rock whose overall sound is unmistakably mid-seventies. SYN “CAST THE FIRST STONE” (PRIVATE PRESS) 1980 SEALED ORIGINAL. Rare album of the underground US Prog scene, this Syn, from Pennsylvania, operated with a five-piece core of multi-instrumentalists Marc and Phillip Britton, lead female singer/guitarist Gloria Giarrusso, keyboardist/violinist Duane Loeper and drummer Randy Paxson. Through the liner notes it seems they were active already from the 70’s, but”Cast the first stone’is the only document they left behind. The music here is so flexible and varied you’ll NEVER get bored. Basic rock instrumentation with lots of keyboards and piano and occasional flourishes of sax, flute and violin in a semi-Prog, semi-Pomp Rock, semi-Art Rock contenxt. A really fantastic, overlooked Prog album. Elements of US Prog like Kansas-like pounding rhythms and Hard Rock vibes, Sunblind Lion-like melodramatic arrangements with standard Rock components and the effortless influence by Classic acts like Genesis on the Moog synth leads. Strong songwriting, some beautiful atmospheres, nice interplays, And a great cover too for an overall pretty solid package of music and illustration. SHADOW FOX “SAME” (PRIVATE PRESS) 1982 SEALED ORIGINAL. Very Good Hard Rockin’ Southern Rock Sounds with songs like “ROADIE”, “MUSICIANS SONG”, “ROCKIN’ PARTY” AND MORE… SORT OF REMINDS ME OF ALBATROSS… STUART SCHARF “The Disguises album”(PRIVATE PRESS) 1975 M-/M. Very rare fragile folk rock album with an appearance by Roberta Flack This was always super rare until someone fell into a small batch of them(ME), they are gone now so rare again… OUT OF TIME “OUT OF TIME”(PRIVATE PRESS)1988 SEALED ORIGINAL. This lp sounds like it was released 20 years before it was. Elements of garage and hard rock abound.. WINGED STALLION “Journeys Long” (PRIVATE PRESS) 1984 SEALED ORIGINAL. Winged Stallion was a band of musicians based in California who operated in a’back in time’ mode of mid-late 1970’s hippie era westcoast-vibed music, adding in current early 1980’s rock sensibilities. You get both male and female vocals. They rock out well on “Bandolero”, provide a shimmering folk rock angles on LP opener “Caught Between The Phases” and venture into country rock on a couple of tunes, which for me are the losers (“Just Being Here” and “Hard Road To Glory”). The title song has great female vocals with brass work. Great Christian oriented rock album with cool title cut plus “One Way Out” and many more… GREENWOOD “Remember the Promise” U. Private 1976 sealed what’s cool about this secular album is that there are quite a few good originals whcih is odd for this type of record…. Husband/wife team w two others… Private1981 Great wasted hard rocker from Washington state. This is a real good lp throughout. “Let me play my music” and “Fire in my Soul”.. 4 piece band that takes no prisoners.. Small 500 pressing way back when. JOHN SOUTHERN “EQUINOX” U. PRIVATE 1975 SEALED ORIGINAL Housed in a striking thick album jacket, this little known private rural folk debut is an outsider real people record. There s a nifty fuzz guitar breakout in My Place In The Woods? On The Isle Of You has a fuller sound and moves into a commercial rock oriented direction instrumental John-Hooley is an interesting short interlude to the proceedings – Psych moves present in Not So Long Ago with backward guitar sound arrangements and closer lat Grass Plains Of Oklahoma has an organ arrangement that adds to an overall solid mid-paced folk pop rock song. JOHN SOUTHERN “DEPARTURE” U. PRIVATE 1979 sealed vinyl john’s equally as rare 2nd lp. This one sounds a bit more commercial than equinox with solid songs and good playing. CROSSROADS “LIGHTS IN THE SKY” U.

This record is perfect for those who appreciate the jazz funk genre and want to expand their music collection with a rare and unique piece. I grade conservatively and visually inspection all items under a bright fluorescent light. Most items have been played also to determine if there are any other defects that need to be noted in the description. So delays can occur or lost parcels can occur as well. That is why for international buyers tracking is optional if requested. It is more expensive but well worth it if you want assurance your item will arrive on time. Mint- when a LP is sealed or opened and not played. EX for items that look unplayed and have a shine/gloss that is perfect. VG++ close to EX but will have slightly more play wear to surface. VG+ usually more wear with hairlines/light noise but plays strong. VG nice play copy with marks/maybe some pops or clicks. VG- clicks pops, significant marks and maybe a skip. Good+ to Poor are plays copies with numerous defects that are listed. All records are cleaned with a spin cleaner record washer MKII. All items are original pressings unless noted in the description. Take Note for international buyers if you want tracking on your items please message me and I’ll give you the proper total with it included in a the invoice. REAL EYES: Same U. Private Label 1980 Incredible piece of music here exploring the lines of progressive music to psychedelia to even a Zappa Esque song. Very limited release back in 81 comes with a huge 83 page drawing lyric booklet. SEALED and a must! A good, yet very diverse offering by this Flemington, NJ band. It’s a fairly well produced thematic album, with sounds running the gammut from soft folk, to psych heavy metal. The main thing that sets this apart from the rest is the inclusion of a THICK, soft cover book not booklet, but a book, with 83 pages! Filled with poetry, pictures, and presumably song lyrics, to accompany the album and help with the overall theme.

Vinyl is in NM Condition. View grading scale below. All of our records are original pressings, unless otherwise stated. Thank You For Your Support, Bird-Dog Vintage & Vinyl. All records are VISUALLY GRADED, unless otherwise noted. Please view the grading scale listed in the item description. We will always do our absolute best to resolve an issue, and be honest and fair in any situation. (10) SS (Still Sealed): Vinyl is presumed mint and any defects on the cover will be noted above in the description. (9) Mint: If the album is not sealed, then the vinyl must look truly unplayed and cover will not show evident flaws for this grade. (8) NM: The Vinyl looks virtually flawless, being perhaps played a few times. A barely visible scuff may be permitted, but no scratches. The cover will be in like new shape, showing only barely unnoticeable flaws. (7) NM-: Pretty much the same as NM, but a non-feelable and barely noticeable scratch may be permitted, and the cover will show slightly more wear. (6) VG++: Slightly above average. Still very minor surface wear, with very minor scratch(es) or scuff(s). Cover shows slight shelf wear, only visible under close inspection. Still a good luster and shine. The difference between VG++ and VG+ is the amount of scuffs and light scratches. Covers are still clean, with slight wear, and maybe a few light marks or minor writing. (4) VG: Decent luster and shine still, with more noticeable scratches than VG+, but still overall a decent (far from pristine) record. The cover may be starting to show signs of splitting, ringwear, or have markings. (3) VG-: Luster and shine will start to become less prominent at VG- and below, as well as prominent scratches and scuffs. Covers will be in pretty rough shape. (2) G+: Vinyl will be show several scratches and scuffs (I do clean all of my records, so don’t expect a moldy or dirty record). Covers will most likely be taped or have multiple seam splits. This is record is in rough shape. (1) G/P: There is little difference between a G+ and a G record. The main difference being that a Good record may skip or stick in a few places. This item is in the category “Music\Vinyl Records”. The seller is “bird-dogmusic” and is located in this country: US. Rare Private Press- John Osborne & The Southern Express-Down South Jukin-Sealed. Corners have some wear from storage. Sleeve is starting to yellow spot. Where to begin with this record.. They rip it up out of the gate with their version of Charlie Daniels’ Souths Gonna Do It Again, stay true to form with some Marshall Tucker covers, give their best shot at a couple of Lynyrd Skynyrd tunes (sounds like somebody less confident taking a turn on the vocals here). They waltz thru Mel Street’s Who’ll Turn Out The Lights and Honky Tonk their way across Ronnie Milsap’s Houston but the REAL GEMS are their spooky as hell and painful take on Turn The Page and a rocked out Baker Street with its phased vocals and aggressive tempo. They manage to get loose and funky enough to throw in a hot take on Jr Walker’s Shotgun with a nice wide open drum break. All in all – this sounds like the ultimate wasted midwestern biker bar experience, circa 1979. This item is in the category “Music\Vinyl Records”. The seller is “retro-vintage-obsolete” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.

Please see photos for tracklist. Format: 12 Vinyl LP Label : Pennine Cat No: PSS 153LP Year: 1979 Country: UK Condition (Sleeve/Disc): EX+/NM See below for grading definitions Notes: Original UK private press, only 300 pressed. Very rare legendary recording. Signed by 4 members with unique messages including “Be Bop Deluxe were never like this” see photos. More provenance available upon request. The sleeve has been kept in a clear protective sleeve from new. It does have some light ringwear, as does probably every other copy due to the sleeve being made with very soft card/paper. The ring wear has a little black rubbing caused by the protective sleeve. Apart from that it is in great shape, 1 minor corner bump, no rips or splits. The record is in stunning condition, only had 1 play ever. No marks at all on the vinyl. Side 1 label has no spindle trails at all. Side 2 has a couple of trails from the same play. I only grade Mint if still sealed but this is as close as it gets. I doubt if there is a better copy out there. Matrix: (Etched) Side 1: PSS-153-LP-A1 E. Side 2: PSS-153-LP-B1 E. We package our records in the best available mailers with two cardboard protective stiffeners, great care is taken with all packaging to ensure that your record arrives in the best possible condition. Are classed as 1 item, please await invoice. Offer only applies to listings displaying items with the free p&p logo. Job lot listings excluded. All records are visually graded only under a strong light unless otherwise stated. Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way. We only give this grade if it is still sealed and no damage to the sleeve. Near Mint (NM) A nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. The cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable similar defects. No cut-out holes, either. And of course, the same will be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves and the like. Basically, an LP in near mint condition looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. Excellent (EX) An excellent record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don’t affect one’s listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are “OK”. The label may have some ring wear or discolouration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a EX record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them. The item “Tickawinda Rosemary Lane Vinyl LP UK 1st Signed Private Press Rare 1 Play NM” is in sale since Thursday, January 4, 2018. This item is in the category “Music\Records”.
