WOW WHAT A FIND! THIS IS A SUPER EXAMPLE OF THE RAREST YELLOW/BLACK ” 4TH ” LABELLED UK STEREO PRESSING WITH NO RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED TEXT, OF ALL THE EARLIEST 4 LABELLED VARIANTS THIS IS THE HARDEST ONE TO FIND AS ONLY LIKELY JUST A HANDFUL WERE EVER PRESSED BEFORE THE NEW CORPORATE YELLOW & BLACK LABEL OF 63 LABEL WAS SETTLED UPON & STANDARDISED. AS SUCH THIS COPY ALSO HAS THE EARLIEST MOTHER STAMPER FOR SIDE TWO OF 1G (EVEN THE BLACK AND GOLDS START THAT SIDE WITH 1R) WITH 1P ON SIDE ONE. WHEN FIRST RELEASED THIS ALBUM WAS AT THE END OF THE BLACK & GOLD LABEL ERA, THE 1ST LABEL WAS THE BLACK & GOLD WITH DICK JAMES CREDITS FOR ALL THE LENNON McCARTNEY SONGS, FOLLOWED BY A CORRECTED BLACK & GOLD LABEL CHANGING MANY TO THE CORRECT NORTHERN SONGS (” 2ND ” LABEL). THEN WHEN THE NEW CORPORATE YELLOW & BLACK LABELS ARRIVE THE FIRST EFFORT (” 3RD ” LABEL) HAD AN ERROR IN THAT IT INCLUDED THE SMALL 33 1/3RD THAT WAS USED ON THE BLACK & GOLDS IN ERROR SO THIS SECOND EFFORT (4TH LABEL) CORRECTLY REMOVES THIS DUPLICATION BUT STILL DOES NOT SHOW THE RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED AND OF ALL THE LABELS THIS ONE IS THE HARDEST OF THE HARD TO FIND. EMI EVENTUALLY GOT IT RIGHT AND ENDED UP WITH A NEW LABEL STYLE THEY WERE HAPPY WITH AND IT SHOULD BE STRESSED THAT THESE CHANGES HAPPENED OVER A PERIOD OF LITERALLY JUST A FEW SHORT WEEKS. Some of the more valuable items of the same weight will also therefore show a slightly higher postal cost. Apologies again, this is not of my makin g. TRACK LISTING : see labels. MATRICIES: -1 -1 MOTHER STAMPERS : 1P 1G. VINYL VISUAL : STILL RETAINS ITS FIRST PRESSED SHEEN. SLEEVE: SUPER LARGE STEREO EXAMPLE, THE ODD CREASE AND SLIGHT BUMP TOP FRONT RIGHT GRADES EX. LABELS : EVIDENCE OF PLAY GRADE EX. RAREST OF ALL THE STEREO VARIANTS AND PRICED ACCORDINGLY, TRY & FIND ANOTHER. Please note that whilst I try to endeavour to adhere to strict RC gradings I will never describe ANYTHING AS MINT even when I think it to be so. However if I believe an item to be Mint. I will instead either use the terms Near Mint, mint minus, or in archive or vault condition. When I use these terms you know that in my opinion this is in effect a de-facto Mint grade. Dont forget to take a look at my other items. Please feel free to contact me with any queries you may have. PROOF OF POSTING WOULD SEEM INSUFFICIENT TO THEM AND I HAVE FOUND THIS OUT THE HARD WAY. EACH ADDITIONAL LP AFTER THE FIRST WILL USUALLY BE AND EXTRA G 2.00 PER EACH ADDITIONAL LP. Beatles lp Please Please Me STEREO 1st UK Press
Beatles lp Black & Gold Please Please Me Stereo 1st UK press. This is the original first UK pressing of Please Please Me by The Beatles in STEREO 3042 with Dick James credits. The vinyl has only a few light surface marks on either side of the vinyl, and the labels have a few spindle marks, the very rare Ernest J. Printed front laminated flipback sleeve has only a couple of very minor laminate creases to the front cover with minor shelf wear to the bottom edge and the corners are showing slight signs of rounding. There is NO writing, tears, etc. The Matrix numbers are Side 1 – YEX 94-1 and Side 2 – YEX 95-2. On side 1 at 9 oclock it’s an upside down G and at 3 oclock it has an upside down number 1, on side 2 at 9 oclock it has a number 1 and at 3 oclock it has an R stamped into the dead wax area. So it looks like the side 1 label has been put on upside down at the factory, which probably makes this even rarer. The rice paper lined EMITEX inner sleeve is in Very Good condition with NO splits, writing, etc. Both vinyl and outer sleeve held at various angles in Daylight, Sunlight, moonlight, 100W Bulb and Strictly Graded using Record Collectors Grading system. Vinyl; Side 1: VG+ Side 2: VG+. Labels; Side 1: VG+ Side 2: VG+. Sleeve; Front: VG+ Back: VG+ Spine: VG+. The vinyl lies perfectly flat on the turntable. I have just played both sides of the album and despite some crackles and pops mainly between tracks, this easily grades 8 out of 10. All pictures are of the actual album for sale. The item “Beatles lp Please Please Me STEREO 1st UK Press” is in sale since Friday, January 3, 2020. This item is in the category “Music\Records”. The seller is “vidski65″ and is located in Glasgow. IN ORIGINAL SEARS BAGGY (INSANELY HARD TO FIND SHRINK). LP on vinyl record. Meets all the criteria of an authentic Ad Back + 1st press vinyl with album title above the spindle w/ oval. Original pressing featuring. Love Me Do’ and’P. S I Love You’ which were later changed a month later. The very first run of 6000 front cover slicks says’Printed In U. A’ on the lower left hand corner near the spine. “LONGPLAYING” and “MICROGROOVE” labels with album title above spindle. Clean labels and shiny vinyl. General surface wear with no major issues. Side 1 has an extremely lightly feelable hairline on the last 2 tracks but barely affects play because the music overpowers the occasional light crackle. Fair amount of wear can be seen under a bright light, but plays really well. ORIGINAL SEARS BAG IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. The edges are basically NEAR MINT with close to no wear at all (fully legible spine). The shrinkwrap bag is tight but can be slipped off with a little force. Jacket has mild fade and light ring wear which can be seen on the front mostly. Check out our other items! Beatles Please Please Me Stereo Gold Label First Issue Dick James 1G 1R. This is the incredibly rare and very much sought after Stereo Gold Label. This one is a first issue Dick James version, which was subsequently updated to the correct Northern Song Credits. I added this item to the collector’s website’your-collection’. It’s a Dotcom site where you can zoom in to the images below and see them at a much higher resolution. The site hosts my collection and gives me searchable unique lists of my choosing so I can see exactly what I own and what I need. I know what’s in my collection and the value of all my items and my lists at any time – with a growth factor of my choosing. Go take a look and see how much it has to offer the collector. 1G and 1R Stampers The labels are in beautiful first-rate condition, with no spindle wear or spindle marks. They rate near mint. The single contained the groups second British 45 RPM single, Please Please Me backed with Ask Me Why, and was released in England on January 11, 1963, as Parlophone 45-R 4983. Both songs was recorded at November 26, 1962 on the Abbey Road Studio, London. Interestingly enough, Vee-Jay did not even know how to spell the groups name. All initial issues of the record, as well as advertisements in the trade journals, added an extra T to the name. Thus, when VJ-498 was released in February of 1963, it was credited THE BEATTLES.
