COVER: VG++ (only noteworthy issue overall being 2 crease along top seam on front – see photo – w/ a couple additional tiny wrinkles along top seam on front as well as one along spine on back – hardly worth mentioning, perfect spine and seams showing no signs of wear save for a small hint of wear along one edge of bottom seam – see photo, minor dings to all 4 corners – nothing significant, shrink fully intact w/ breathe holes and no tears, splits or missing pieces w/ only minor issue being light wear/discoloration to small area of shrink at top right – see photo).

BLACK CELEBRATION, Depeche Mode’s fifth album not counting compilations, reflects a band coming into its own, exploring new sounds yet staying true to the electronic New Wave that catapulted the foursome to icon status. The production and arrangements move further into the atmospheric, somewhat industrial realm first tentatively explored on the preceding SOME GREAT REWARD, with more impressive results. “Fly On the Windscreen, ” a song previewed in a much different arrangement on the singles compilation CATCHING UP WITH DEPECHE MODE, sounds more convincing in this form, and it’s one of the band’s best-ever efforts. As a whole, BLACK CELEBRATION is a landmark Goth-pop album. Martin Gore’s lyrics are less strident and more personal–even the politicized “New Dress” is couched in humanistic detail instead of slogans–and his mostly minor-key melodies have a certain dark majesty. David Gahan’s unearthly vocals lend borderline-orperatic songs like “A Question of Lust” and the title track a Weill-esque sinister undertone. In the middle of it all lies “Stripped, ” a haunting pop track straddling the line of love and control, an apt harbinger for what was to come, both from the band itself and from goth-industrial in general. No cut-out holes, either. The same is true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, etc. Excellent (EX) – Beautiful collectible condition. Only the slightest of. Wear, certainly no deep scratches. Very Good Plus (VG+): Shows some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. BLACK FLAG Nervous Breakdown 7 inch EP KBD SST 1978-punk hardcore. This is their debut 7 record containing 4 songs from the Tommy Rat record collection. This is the first pressing out of 2000 which was released in 1978 on their own label SST Records, this is when Keith Morris was the singer before he left to join the Circle Jerks. Condition is as follows…. Used, vinyl disc has smudges and light markings but in playable condition. Sleeve is a gatefold made of made on glossy paper with age and minor wear and tear, comes with plastic baggy. The paper sleeve which holds the disc is ripped on one side as seen in photos but taped up. I bought this record back in 1982 at Rat Cage Records when they were located on 9. Ave across the street from Veselka Coffee Shop. You can have this too as if you got it during the good old days and be a part of this growing movement at that time period. BLACK FLAG Nervous Breakdown 7 EP 1st Press KBD 2000 Pressed SST 1978 N/M- punk hardcore. Ive had this badboy since the mid-80s. Never played by my hands. Vinyl: high gloss, looks new. Cover: sharp very & clean. The pictures dont do it justice because I photographed it w/ the original sleeve still preserving the cover, I didnt want to damage the SST sticker.
