Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed. Should be used sparingly as a grade, if at all. Near Mint (NM or M-). A nearly perfect record. A NM or M- record has more than likely never been played, and the vinyl will play perfectly, with no imperfections during playback. Many dealers won’t give a grade higher than this implying (perhaps correctly) that no record is ever truly perfect. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. An LP cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or other noticeable similar defects. The same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, etc. Very Good Plus (VG+). A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Defects should be more of a cosmetic nature, not affecting the actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don’t affect one’s listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are “OK”. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. Spindle marks may be present. Picture sleeves and inner sleeves will have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear, and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner. In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time. Good (G), Good Plus (G+). A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be played through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present. While the record will be playable without skipping, noticeable surface noise and “ticks” will almost certainly accompany the playback. Poor (P), Fair (F). The record is cracked, badly warped, and won’t play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. The VINYL to this mega-rare HIGHLY sough ” holy grail ” LP is very clean in appearance with TONS of shine.. The gatefold is completely SOLID => has some light shelf wear starting per usual for this highly prone-to-wear UNIPACK gatefold cover (see full details below). ALL-IN-ALL a real prize… 50 years and handled with decent care! Certainly well off the beaten path… This was the very FIRST British issue and there were not many copies made… Upon thorough investigation of the release, it was issued at least 35 years ago with gatefold cover every aspect in appearance yto the mega-rare USA’69 pressing except this is not in unipack gatefold as the USA issue was… In comparison to the USA issue the sound (quality) is 100% identical. Our source explains this was the product of a small operation in the UK. Upon it’s release – In 1981 there were copies of this pressing given to Moving sidewalks (& ZZ TOP) lead guitarist Billy Gibbons (call it a form of royalties paid) which Billy gladly accepted. Great late sixties acid fried Texan psychedelic rock LP by future member BILLY GIBBONS of ZZ Top. T he Moving Sidewalks , as most of you know, were lacing it up with psychedelics & Jimi Hendrix karma… All said a terrific blend of fuzzed-out heavies with a stretch of the imagination creating most wonderfully.. This Houston’s psychedelic’60s sensation… The MOVING SIKDEWALKS sole LP, from 1968, is definitely the psychedelic rock dreams are made of. Moving Sidewalks guitarist Billy Gibbons could certainly play incredibly well at this point. Gibbons admiration of Jimi Hendrix is played out on Pluto-Sept. 31st, with a JIMI Experience-like riffing rhythm section and a studio freakout in the middle. The backward vocal of “Eclipse” is quite compelling (though the Zappa/Red Crayola-style production might harsh on your trip), and “Joe Blues” gives an indication of where Gibbons would be heading next. Other highlights (everywhere) include: “What Are You Doing to Do, ” “Every Night a New Surprise, ” the Elevators styled “Need Me” (complete with Roky Ericson styled wailing vocal), and eleswhere, actually, every tracko n either side of the platter are winners… A tremendous LP when talking psychedelic’60s legends.. “You Make Me Shake”. “You Don’t Know the Life”. “No Good to Cry”. Overall considered a strong collection copy… To upgrade to mint would be hard and cost double (x2) what this collection worthy copy will go for. Local TEXAS phenomena group/LP that literally even turned Jimi Hendrix to attention of these Moving Sidewalks. From 50 years ago, the colors are still fresh… There are no delete marks, no split seams, no fade, and no writing… VERY collection worthy rarity.. The vinyl : Rated: “EX” (excellent) – no prominent marks are visible! Really hard to find with such clean visual appearance… Both original’69 TANTARA labels are clean. A cool addition to anyone’s music library! SEE: SELLERS OTher items for similar cool sounds for “head” people. All imperfections are noted both cover & record. IF you have a problem PLEASE let us solve. GRADING SCALE: M, M-, EX, VG++, VG+, VG, VG. M Completely clean, no marks. M- Carefully used, looks clean, plays clean, shiny gloss, no marks. EX Faint scuff or superficial mark, near M-, high gloss, plays clean. VG++ Glossy with minimal scuffing or light mark playing very nice, clean. VG+ a bit more scuff or markls still plays well with very minimal surface at worse. VG more marks/scratches only minor, nothing deep, no loud clicks or pops.
