Eagles Hell Freezes Over 2 LP Simply Vinyl 1998 180 gram EX Vinyl & Sleeve #z58. ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE: no. OTHER FEATUERS: Simply Vinyl PVC outer sleeve & sticker. Full original surface gloss with faint hairline scuffs on sides 2 and 3, and no notable surface marks on side 1 and 4. Play graded a true EX with only a faint crackle on run ins to remind you its a record. Sleeve is very clean, light shelf wear, graded EX, sleeve creasing at on spine, common on 2 LP sets incases in 1 non gatefold sleeve. PVC inner sleeve with Simply Vinyl sticker. Barcode indicates 1998 reissue. Plays clean and quiet. Overall, an exceptionally clean copy. Please note that the numbers on the end of the title are our internal ID number, not any sort of pressing indicator of the vinyl. Extra packing material, either cardboard or other records, is used to secure the box to limit movement in transit. No stock photos are used in my listings. The record pictured is the record you will receive. I test the first few seconds of each side to determine the background noise and any warps in the record. I randomly test place other spots of each side, focusing on any potential problem areas that one might assume to have playback issues. If a record is indicated as “plays through” in the description, I have test played the whole record already. I do ultrasonically clean records when necessary. If I’ve done so, it will be listed in the description. Typically, this is only when if I believe it’ll improve the sound quality of the record. Putting a clean, quiet sounding record through an ultrasonic process can is ill advised as it can shorten the lifespan of the record. Please see other auctions. Please note that “original press, ” “original pressing” or “OG Press” are used to distinguish a record from a modern pressing or repressing after the original vinyl era. This does not mean the record is a 1st pressing exclusively. Please refer to Vinyl etchings on inner groove if you’d like to research specific pressings. If a pic of the inner groove has not been provided, please message and one will be sent. I do use the new anti-static sleeve provided to jot notes down relative to the listings, so one side will likely have some scribbling in the bottom left corner while the other will have my stock number. This is done in black fine tip sharpie and does not smear at all. Record grading: Below are details of how records are graded. Records are graded conservatively and follow Gold Mine’s grading standard. The vinyl grade is first followed by the sleeve grade. If there is a noticeable mark on the record, there will be a picture in the description following the picture of that side of the record. So, first will be a picture of the vinyl side A or B, then will be a closer picture of whatever flaw there is taken in a brighter, more direct light. Most flaws look more significant in the bright lighting then they really are to the records play. Sleeve grading is a bit more evident in the picture itself. I will never grade a used vinyl higher than a NM. I will never grade a used sleeve higher then an EX+. Anything given those grades is the best one could expect for an open copy. Grades are as follows. SS: Still sealed: Record is in its original seal and has not been played. NM- Near Mint Minus. The highest grade I will give a used record. Shiny surface free from any visible mark. The only thing better is a new record in sealed shrink wrap. Used to differentiate a record just barely not mint. Will have only one visible flaw that is certain to not effect playback. VG++ Very good plus plus; A great record that will have a very minimal amount of light visual marks on the disc with little to no effect on the sound. VG+: Very good plus. The record has been played regularly and is showing minor signs of wear. Surface marks are evident and there will be minor audible clicks and pops. A well played, average record with more visible surface wear than above grades. Will have audible clicks, pops and surface noise but will play through without skips. This should be expected to be a flawed, far for perfect record. VG- : Very good minus. Deeper more apparent scratches or scuffs that will effect the play of the record, but should still play through without skips or interruption. The lowest grade I would list unless the record is particularly rare. This will be a considerably flawed record. Heavy wear, deeper scratches and noticeable sound quality deterioration, possibly with distortion, loud clicks, and pops. I try to grade conservatively because I’d rather you be pleasantly surprised by the quality of a record then disappointed. Grades are, of course, subjective and I sometimes miss things. Previously owned products I normally don’t know the origin of however, and it is possible these products came from homes with pets and smoking before I got them. Thank you for your understanding in these matters. Don’t just take it from me! Here are just a few things customers have said about our shopping experience, all pulled from my feedback. I bought quite a few records at one time, and Alex packaged each individual record beautifully, then put all inner packs in an outer box to ensure everything made the trip safely. I think he may have been a packaging engineer in another life. This is the kind of interaction, integrity and care that I take in my own business, so really appreciate recognizing others who do it right. If I could, I’d have given him a 6th star!! Excellent shape clean record. Thanks for nice records and quick service!

The single’Black Friday’ also charted at No. Pitchfork noted:'(Katy Lied) captures Steely Dan in the thick of it all, still hungry and energized by their early burst of creativity but not taking anything for granted. Before Katy Lied, Steely Dan was a rock band, but this is the record where they became something else. Founded by core members Walter Becker (bass) and Donald Fagen (vocals, keyboards), Steely Dan’s popularity rose throughout the late 1970s on, and their seven albums throughout that period of time blended elements of jazz, rock, funk, R&B, and pop. Steely Dan created a sophisticated, distinctive sound with accessible melodic hooks, complex harmonies and time signatures, and a devotion to the recording studio. Becker and Fagen, with producer Gary Katz, gradually changed Steely Dan from a performing band to a studio project, hiring session musicians to record their compositions. The duo didn’t perform live between 1974 and 1993. But their popularity nevertheless grew throughout the’70s as their albums became critical favorites and their singles became staples of Adult Oriented Radio and pop radio stations. Katy Lied was notable for Becker and Fagen being intially unhappy with the album’s sound quality owing to an equipment malfunction with the then new dbx noise reduction system. Working with engineers at dbx, the sound was corrected and the album ultimately became successful, but Fagen and Becker still refused to listen to the completed version. Katy Lied also marks the first appearance of singer Michael McDonald on a Steely Dan album. Best known for his soulful voice as a member of the Doobie Brothers, McDonald is a five-time Grammy winner and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Doobie Brothers in 2020. The album cover features a picture of a katydid, a’singing’ (stridulating) insect related to crickets and grasshoppers. This is most likely a pun on the album’s title; the’singing’ of a katydid sounds as though they’re saying’Katy did, Katy didn’t. Lyrics in the song’Doctor Wu’ include’Katy tried, I was halfway crucified’ and’Katy lies, you can see it in her eyes. The premise of the theme of Katy’lying’ is based on a quote from Denny Dias when he came to the studio to play on’Your Gold Teeth II. Jeff Porcaro, then only 21 years old, played drums on all the songs except’Any World (That I’m Welcome To),’ which features legendary session drummer Hal Blaine. After a brief battle with esophageal cancer, Walter Becker died on September 3, 2017 at the age of 67. VH1 ranked Steely Dan at No. 82 on their list of the 100 Greatest Musical Artists of All Time. Rolling Stone ranked them No. 15 on it’s list of the 20 Greatest Duos of All Time. This stereo UHQR reissue will be limited to 20, 000 copies, with gold foil individually numbered jackets, housed in a premium slipcase with a wooden dowel spine. Queen formed in 1970 and consisted of Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). Queen’s earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock, into their music. They eventually became one of the most famous rock bands in the world and still command much respect long after Mercury’s 1991 death.

John Coltrane A Love Supreme UHQR 45 RPM 200 Gram Clarity Vinyl Analogue Prod
John Coltrane Quartet – A Love Supreme Analogue Productions’ UHQR, the pinnacle of high-quality vinyl! 45 RPM Ultra High Quality Record release. Limited to 10,000 copies. Mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from a second-generation tape copy created by Rudy Van Gelder Pressed at Quality Record Pressings using Clarity Vinyl® Includes a 12″ x 12″ 12-page booklet featuring liner notes by Ashley Kahn and images from the Coltrane home. Audiophile reviews rave about saxophone master John Coltrane’s immortal Impulse! Records, A Love Supreme (1964) and Ballads (1963). In fact, jazz critics have lauded A Love Supreme as Coltrane’s most important recording. The rave reviews which appeared in the magazines Downbeat, Jazz Hot, Jazz Podium and Swingjournal reflected this: critics all over the world, in America, Europe and Japan recognized that Coltrane’s deep religious belief had influenced both his approach to life and his music-making. You’re about to experience A Love Supreme at its peak of vinyl perfection – in UHQR format on Clarity Vinyl, with the added bonus of a double 45 RPM cut by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound. Ryan’s cut has his characteristic clarity and transparency all set against Quality Record Pressing’s usual noiseless backgrounds on 200-gram flawless records. Each UHQR will be packaged in a deluxe box and will include a booklet detailing the entire process of making a UHQR along with a hand-signed certificate of inspection. This will be a truly deluxe, collectible product. For this 45 RPM 2LP edition you’ll also receive a 12″ x 12″ 12-page booklet featuring liner notes by Ashley Kahn and images from the Coltrane home. The original master tape is available but it’s not in the best shape. This LP was cut from a flat tape copy made by Rudy Van Gelder and used for cutting in the UK in April of 1965. Of course, the original recording was in December’64, so only a handful of months later. This tape was discovered at Abbey Road and had been untouched between 1965 and 2002. So while the original tape is available and while we would always opt for the original whenever we can, in this case this copy was the better choice as the tape has incurred less overall wear and sounds much better than the original. A Love Supreme was Coltrane’s pinnacle studio outing that at once compiled all of his innovations from his past, spoke of his current deep spirituality, and also gave a glimpse into the next two and a half years (sadly, those would be his last). Recorded at the end of 1964, Trane’s classic quartet of Elvin Jones, McCoy Tyner, and Jimmy Garrison stepped in and created one of the most thought-provoking albums of their relationship. The album not only enabled Coltrane to express himself with great intensity but also lent him the necessary inner peace to conceive a work of almost 40 minutes in length and to lead his quartet along the same path as himself.
