Please note: beginning june 2020 we have moved to VJM grading system for all 78 rpm records. Grading methodology is As Follows. As new and unplayed (there are virtually no 78s that can categorically be claimed to be unplayed). Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage. Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches. Still shiny but without the lustre of a new record, few light scratches. LP: Some wear, scratches and scuffs, but no skipped or repeat grooves. V+ is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced. Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive. Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy greying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level. Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Quite seriously worn and scratched, but music level is still higher than surface noise. Music still prominent, but wear and scratch damage extensive. Most of music remains audible over surface noise, but listening now uncomfortable. NB: Damage to labels and jackets. Rare and very obscure single from Billy’Curly’ Barrix was released in small numbers back in 1957 on Chess Record Labels and this one comes out of one of the largest and finest vinyl collections in the UK, if not the World. This single has remained in superb condition and the sales history of it shows it can achieve a huge price tag. The single is in superb Excellent condition without scratches or scuffs and with just light superficial surface hairlines visible under strong lighting, and plays with an awesome sound quality on both sides without pops, skips or background noise, the tracks are, Cool Off Baby b/w Almost, and comes in its brown paper bag. This single has been inspected and authenticated by three independent dealers as a first original and authentic Chess Pressing. Interestingly this single has reversed labels and the Cool Off Baby side label has been pressed slightly off centre and this was a common error with early Chess Singles and can only add to its Authenticity. After and most valuable Vinyl LP´s on Earth!! Record was never released, only 100 were. Manufactured before the Record Label. Many copies survived the last 49 years!!
