Vinyl is in near mint condition, its like never played new BUT I will say near mint to be safe it plays and sounds great I have cleaned this vinyl by hand and played the record and it sounds great. THE BEATLES “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” VERSION 1 VEE JAY RECORDS SR (VJLPS) -1062. “Inroducing The Beatles” is the first The Beatles LP issued in USA!!! Original first pressing, Version 1 “Ad Back” cover, STEREO, released January 10, 1964!!! Authentic “Ad Back” cover variation has miniature color photographs of the covers of 25 Vee-Jay albums, on the back side. The back cover artwork used on this version of the jacket is nothing more than one side of the inner sleeve dust jacket. All “Ad Back” covers were manufactured with front slicks containing the phrase. Running vertically along its lower left side. The stereo covers have the white top banner with STEREOPHONIC centered in grey and the number SR 1062 in black in the upper right-hand corner. Cover was printed by Coburn & Company, an offset printing firm in Chicago. Stereo label has the exact same typesetting and information as mono except that the album number is VJLPS 1062 rather than VJLP 1062 and STEREO appears at 3 oclock below the side number. The trail off areas have the hand etched matrix number 63-3402S and job number 5689 on Side 1 and matrix number 63-3403S and job number 5689-X on Side 2. Both sides have the hand etched date 6-28-63 and initialsA as well as the machine stamped Audio Matrix and MR logos. This record was pressed by Monarch Records , Los Angeles, California. In a sense, it is very valuable because it combines both 1st and 3rd states. The sleeve has some rubbing on the surface. There is a slight pain on the back, and there is a tear of about 5 cm on the underside of the takeout. Jakeura also has ring-shaped aging. There is also a small hit on the corner. It is relatively good condition. You can see a faint scratch on the record. There are noticeable scratches on two sides. There is nothing deep enough to cause a needle jump. The rarest of the Vee-Jay Beatles albums is the second and very limited pressing of The Beatles & Frank Ifield On Stage. The Beatles & Frank Ifield album was reissued as new Beatles album with new cover and new name without Jolly What! The reissue cover features the striking portrait of the Beatles previously used on the Love Me Do picture sleeve. The portrait was derived from the Dezo Hoffmann color photograph. The Beatles songs are prominently listed on the cover. Cover was printed by Hill Lithograph Corp. Cover is in dealer’s ORIGINAL. The album was not assigned a new number and was issued with the same records that appeared with the first version of the album. Record has black label featuring an oval logo with an outer rim colorband and left justified artist-only credits, the album number VJLPS 1085 and. Holy Grail original 1st Pressing! This is the original first state pressing, with the Eric Emerson torso back cover. Subsequent (2nd State) releases had a sticker, covering the offending image, whereas third state covers had Emerson airbrushed out of the image. Partial banana peel OK, almost completely peeled! , The cover presents beautifully. Hint of ring wear, along with a crease on the front, and some minor splitting on the top (about 3 inches). Spot played every track, and while there are numerous pops and cracks, I did not hear any skips or jumps; played through fine on my vintage V15 Type IV. BACKGROUND NOISE ON QUIETER SECTIONS IS QUITE EVIDENT. True original first 1st press mono produced by Andy Warhol 1967. Andy Warhol managed the Velvet Underground (although there is certainly some disagreement on exactly how much managing he did), and also created the album cover featuring a silkscreen banana. Beatles LP “YESTERDAY & TODAY”.. Letter of Authenticity Included. Remedy to marketing an acceptable Album Cover for their latest album issued on. BEATLES’ “YESTERDAY and TODAY”. This variation is referred to as a. 2nd STATE MONO BUTCHER COVER. Because the original cover was pasted over with this new and more publicly acceptable cover design as shown here, since the original was found to be somewhat over the top and rejected by public opinion and the record executives at. The newly pasted over photo is known as the TRUNK COVER. This corrected cover version was released on JUNE 20, 1966. To make certain that the album is an actual 2nd STATE BUTCHER COVER , one easy way to tell is to look at the right side of the front cover about midway down. You will see a faint depiction of Ringo’s Black V-Neck shirt underneath. If you don’t see this, it’s a standard LP. This record is amazingly STILL FACTORY SEALED from 1966 and is in NM condition throughout, including all 4 corners, the spine, the opening and the in-tact shrink wrap throughout. It is the MONO Recording Capitol Catalog No. T-2553 and is one of the best examples of this rarity that we have seen in decades. It’s hard to imagine one in better shape. Also note that the ORIGINAL PRICE STICKER is still present. Overall it is a magnificent piece and a highly sought after collectible. It is obviously a FIRST PRESSING from Capitol’s LA Pressing Plant. On the back of the cover, you will note the Number 6 in the lower right corner. These LA Pressings were the VERY FIRST to be produced. On a personal note, these 2nd STATE MONO BUTCHER albums are rarely spotted in this pristine condition. There are obviously less expensive one’s out there in the collector’s market, but very few SEALED copies have EVER been found here in the 21st Century, that are overall in this museum quality state.
