HTML Editor – Full Version. Label:Capitol Records Mono. Format: Virgin Vinyl LP – Original Factory Sealed. RCA contract pressing with colorband label. Original rust colored Capitol inner sleeve. Discography About The Record. The Beatles released their latest official long-player, Beatles for Sale, in England on December 4 of 1964, capping a year of the most extraordinary activity ever seen on the part of a performing group. Meanwhile, back in the U. Where sales were easily dwarfing the group’s U. Success by sheer weight of numbers, Capitol Records saw no reason to give 14 new songs to the waiting public, especially as they were sitting on one leftover song from the U. A Hard Day’s Night album, and had a current single whose two sides, “I Feel Fine” and “She’s a Woman, ” they could use to promote whatever they released. The result was Beatles’65, issued a little less than two weeks before the start of that year and ten days before Christmas. This was the first U. Album on which the commingling of tracks started to wear on the originals. Beatles’65 was essentially the core of the rather dour Beatles for Sale, punched up with the new single and an offbeat but killer remnant from A Hard Day’s Night. While it all sounded OK and duly topped the charts, the cohesion was starting to get lost; between the acoustic-textured Beatles for Sale numbers and the feedback-laden “I Feel Fine, ” the hard-rocking “She’s a Woman, ” and the somewhat less sharp-edged Carl Perkins covers here, there was less and less method to the compiling for the U. This came courtesy of Dave Dexter, Jr. A Capitol executive who’d had to be ordered to start authorizing the release of Beatles material by Capitol in America (as opposed to passing on it and letting other licensees handle it), and seemingly spent most of the next two years trying to prove how right he’d been to neglect them. The odd thing was that, despite the weak and odd recouplings of songs, the album did sell, and song for song it was still better than anything the competition was creating — as long as the singles were everything they should be, the band was on safe ground. With this and its next release, Capitol was starting to figure out just how valuable each Beatles song was by itself, and how far they could go repackaging them, as long as they retained some measure of common sense. They lost that attribute with the U. Album, courtesy of Dexter, but in the meantime the label did get out flawed if entertaining compilations such as this. I’m A Loser. Baby’s In Black. Rock And Roll Music. I’ll Follow The Sun. I’ll Be Back. She’s A Woman. Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby. THE VIRGIN VINYL ALBUM IS STILL ORIGINAL FACTORY SEALED. PASTE ON COVER IS STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY SHRINK WRAP W/ SOME CORNER WEAR AND STICKERS. NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER. No split seams No creases No cut-out (drill) holes No cut-out corners No saw-marks or indents No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers) No yellowing from aging No writing No tape No water damage No warping No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover No glue traces or wax residue. Please use all the pictures to help with the condition. If any questions, please ask! Thank You From Zombie Sounds. A rare and exceptionally nice UK first pressing of David Bowies 1971 masterpiece. With the legendary dress cover, on Mercury Records. This authentic first pressing has stamped matrix numbers and textured cover, with the uncropped photograph of Bowie wearing his mans dress designed by Mr. This is the more scarce variant with Tony Visconti spelled correctly on both disc labels a slightly earlier variant misspelled Viscontis first name Tonny. We bought our first copy in 1973, and it was extremely rare thenonly two years after release. This example is easily the finest weve seen in the 44 years since. The fragile cover is in Near Mint condition with only some very light wear to the bottom spine, and the faintest of wear to the edges. The disc is in Mint/Near Mint condition, and probably has been played no more than 3-4 times. The vinyl shows no sign of play or wear at all, other than one small, superficial (and silent scuff). The Side 1 label has no spindle marks, while the Side 2 label has what looks like a single one. The matrix numbers are 6338041 1Y//1^420 1 1 4 and 6338041 2Y//1^420 1 1 1. If youve been looking for a copy youll never need to upgrade, this is it. We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition. See our other listings for more from this fantastic collection. If you are a Beatles fan, this is probably your Holy Grail collectors item. In fact, this may be that album for collectors of any performer in any genre. This is an absolutely beautiful item. It is a second state version of the butcher cover release of Yesterday and Today. It was released on Capitol in 1966, number T2553. The cover is in almost immaculate condition. The top left corner of the taped on cover has been pulled back just enough to reveal a portion of the original Capitol logo. You can see Ringos vest under the word Today on the right side of the cover. This cover has been handled with exceptional care. It shows no ring wear and no corner or edge wear. There is a small crease near the lower right corner. The cover grades VG+. This is the original mono release of the album. The vinyl is in exceptional condition with its bright original luster and just a few light surface scratches and scuffs, none of which significantly impact play. It plays beautifully with just very light sporadic background noise. The original Capitol inner sleeve is included. The vinyl grades VG. Album Tracks: Drive My Car Im Only Sleeping Nowhere Man Dr. Robert Yesterday Act Naturally. And Your Bird Can Sing If I Needed Someone We Can Work It Out What Goes On? I do this to make sure I can give as accurate a description of each record as possible. I will do both a visual check and an audio check. I absolutely attempt to give as objective a grading as I can. I dont ever want you to be disappointed in the quality of the album you receive. I only use four grades in my grading: NM, VG+, VG, and G. The only exception is a sealed album which is presumed to have vinyl in mint condition. My NM grading means that the vinyl looks and plays as though it is the first time out of the sleeve. It may have a pop here and there or some occasional background static. On a VG album you can expect that, typically, this album will play great, but youll see more defects on this than your VG+ rated album. Most often the VG rated album may even play well enough to be graded VG+, but the color or blemishes drop the grading. Likewise, you may occasionally find an album that looks almost NM but the sound quality just isnt there. Thats why I play every album first, because this does happen. In this case the vinyl will be graded VG. Very occasionally I will list an album with a grade of G. This is one where I consider the collectible value of the album to be great enough that the copy being presented is worth having as a filler copy. The vinyl is removed from the cover and presented in a new poly sleeve. Thank you for looking and please contact me with any questions.
