Every recording was selected by a distinguished panel of music authorities. The library was first announced on the 100th anniversary of Thomas Edisons invention of the phonograph. Each recorded treasure was pressed with a special vinyl formulation that enabled a clear, quiet playing surface on a more rigid LP disk. Every record was pressed in an atmosphere controlled clean room. There are 50 library cases. Each library case houses two proof-quality long playing records, with each record resting, fully protected, within its own dust free compartment. The record is firmly supported within the closed compartment in such a way that the grooved playing surface never touches any part of the case. Each library case includes a specially written and illustrated commentary, by a respected music expert. The composers and their works are discussed in detail, and background information is provided on the orchestras, conductors, ensembles, and featured soloists. This is a truly unsurpassed private library of recorded music. All 50 boxes have been. Opened but they are all in excellent condition, the only sign of age they show is on the corner of the insert booklets that have slight sun fade from being displayed on a shelf (shown in the pictures) otherwise they are all in excellent / near mint condition. Submasters with the last three tracks in rechanneled stereo. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) pressed a second run of the Beatles Boxed Set for a total production run of 25,000 over the next two years or until October 1985. Each album was pressed on black vinyl by the Victor Company of Japan. The album covers were replaced with photographs of tape boxes and log sheet. The original album covers were included in a booklet which also featured a certificate of authenticity as this was a limited edition collection. Missing from this collection were all of the Beatles’ singles, extended Play. And a few miscellaneous tracks that did not appear on their original UK albums. A Hard Day’s Night.
