    Good condition overall, but it plays brilliantly———typical sounds from the records produced in the 50’s. Please dont think that the record is scratched———-it isnt —-shadow marks from when I took the photos. This was in my bank safe deposit box with the other 4 until Today. THE HOLY GRAIL OF ELVIS RECORDS——the 5 SUN ORIGINAL 45s. Guide to Elvis 45 rpm Sun records. At least that is how the legend goes. According to the folks at Sun, he came in to hopefully be heard by Sam Phillips. In late 1954 he was invited back by Sam Phillips to record with Scotty Moore and Bill Blac. The first hit was Thats Alright Mama. Who would have known back then to have saved those old Elvis Sun Records? Who could have possible known that they would become the holy grail of record or Elvis collections? Today there seems to be a frenzy to obtain an original piece of what is arguably the most important of rock and roll records. It is no wonder that there are so many counterfeits out there. This guide is designed to help you distinguish the real ones from the bootlegs. For what ever reason, there seems to be a lack of printed material on authenticating Sun records. My expertise has come from many different sources over many years of collecting. The Elvis Sun records were originally, it was thought, pressed in a plant in. And in a plant in. It is rumoured that there was a third release of the originals, pressed in. Which are identical to the. All pressings have serial numbers etched into the trail-off. The records are Sun #209 “That’s All Right” (1954), #210 “Good Rockin’ Tonight” (1954), #215 “Milk Cow Blues Boogie” (1954), #217 “Baby, Let’s Play House” (1955) and #223 “Mystery Train” (1955). The rarest issues are 209 and 215, then 217, while 210 and 223 are considered to be easier. The first four records have engravings in the trail-off that end with the number 72. The fifth, Sun 223, Mystery Train, ends with the number 20. Pressings, except for Mystery Train, have three ¼ inch circular. Push marks around the centre hole, forming a perfect triangle, or Greek Delta. Hence, the name Delta pressings. These marks are not found on Mystery Train, nor on the. It is this lack of push marks that may cause original Suns from the other plants to mistakenly be wrongly identified as fakes or bootlegs. Also, misinformed or unscrupulous buyers/sellers have claimed that the 72 denotes the year of issue out of ignorance or to use lower prices. Pressings are identical to the. Pressings, except for the push marks, and the. Pressings, we learn , can be further identified by a tiny MSI stamped into the vinyl, supposedly for Memphis Sun Inc.. Pressings have a small triangle etched into the vinyl near the record label. All 5 records have been verbally guaranteed to me as original by Scotty Moore and D J. When I met them in 1993. Their words to me were these are the real deal. A lot of the information above came from them. The most certain way of distinguishing the original 1950s issues from subsequent re-issues is to look at the last two digits of the serial number in the trail-off———the72 on the first 4 Suns and the 20 on the fifth one. On the originals, the last 2 digits are approximately half an inch from the other digits. On the re-issues, the distance is doubled, to well over an inch. This is the most important factor in distinguishing the original Suns, NOT the push marks. But bear in mind, that not all sellers are crooks.     This record has been in my collection for a long time. It is the UK first pressing with the solid blue triangle and comes in the hazy blue/black sleeve. The original sticker was placed on the inner cover. It comes with the two posters and two stickers. It is housed in the original black poly lined sleeve. Graded VG – VG+ RRPG grades record/sleeve. I’ve been conservative here. On my system I can hear clicks an crackle, especially on A1. This disappears and there is a good full sound throughout, despite the crackle, it’s a good listen. The record has a good sheen. If I had a Vi-Pro etc, then I think it would befit this. Under bright light I can see a light mark to A1and some very light marks to B but nothing significant. There are some tiny marks on the run off under magnification. The label has minimal spiralling. Matrix A-side – SHVL 804 A-2 there also looks like GDC but is difficult to read and a 7 at 7 o’clock. Mattrix B-side – SHVL 804 B-2 and what looks like GGG. Gatefold blue/black ink sleeve. It has light wear with minimal ring wear and some corner bumping. Generally very nice indeed. A distinctive polythene lined die cut black semi-matt paper. Two patent numbers to bottom left, 1125555/1072844, and “Made in Great Britian” to the right. Both in excellent condition. Both unused with their backs on stating ” PERMANENT”. One has creased from being caught in the gatefold. Overall, a lovely copy. Listening now and the sound is near EX at present! The start of A1 is clicky and you can hear some background in the quiet moments. Sad times, but hey!     Pink Floyd – Dark Side Of The Moon. SHVL 804 – A2/B2 1st Press with Solid Blue Triangle. Stampers – 5GDR, 1GCA. The Vinyl has been graded as Excellent. The Sleeve has some minor surface wear and some edge wear on mainly the bottom where it has been slid onto a shelf (shown in photos). Original Black Poly Lined Inner with 2 minor repairs at centre hole on one side. If you require any further information or photographs please drop us a line. We use the Record Collector’s grading system giving separate condition ratings for the Vinyl and Sleeve as follows. Near Mint (NM) – A nearly perfect record. Has more than likely been played few times or not at all, and the vinyl will show no imperfections during playback. Sleeve will have no more than the most minor defects. The same is true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, etc. Excellent (EX) -The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. Sleeve may have slight wear or creasing Very Good (VG) – The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Sleeve, normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. Good (GD) – The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.     Dark side of the moon vinyl LP. First UK pressing from 1973 with A2/B2 matrices and solid blue triangle on the vinyl labels. Vinyl is in really beautiful condition. Clean, bright and still glossy with only the odd light scuff visible under strong light. A udio is great. Plays through crisp and clear with no jumps or sticks. No distortion and just mild surface noise between tracks and on the quieter sections but certainly nothing which overpowers the music. Labels are very clean with no wear or writing. A few spindle marks. Stickered sleeve is also in clean and solid condition with no splits, or unwanted writing. Some edge and shelf wear but other wise a strong VG+. Includes one original poster and one postcard. These are showing signs of age with yellowing and the poster has pinholes and a couple of tears. Overall a really great copy of this first pressing. Will be supplied with a new polylined inner. Any questions or if you require more photos please ask. I use correct record mailers and stiffeners to ensure the record arrives free of damage. I will post world wide. Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing. Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc. Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.     Original 78 RPM record. Has a edge crack repaired on the record. Likely occurred early in its life since record and labels are in excellent shape. It has been glued. Once you pass the repair, the record plays fine. It is a shame, because as stated, the labels are very nice and so is the record. Ideal for display or frame! He was infamous in the Payola Scandal which destroyed his career, however, his contribution to rock and roll, a phrase he is said to have created, has been recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Originally released on 1 March 1973, on the label Harvest, it built on ideas explored in the band’s earlier recordings and live shows, but departs from instrumental thematic by founding member Syd Barrett. The album explores themes including conflict, greed, the passage of time, and mental illness, the latter partly inspired by Barrett’s deteriorating mental state. Developed during live performances, an early version was premiered several months before recording began; new material was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at Abbey Road in London. The group used some advanced recording techniques at the time, including multitrack recording and tape loops. Analogue synthesizers were prominent in several tracks, and snippets from recorded interviews with Pink Floyd’s road crew and others provided philosophical quotations throughout. Engineer Alan Parsons was responsible for many distinctively notable sonic aspects and the recruitment of non-lexical singer Clare Torry. The album’s iconic sleeve, designed by Storm Thorgerson, depicts a prism dispersing light into colour and represents the band’s lighting, the record’s thematic material, and keyboardist Richard Wright’s “simple and bold” design request.
