The price got your attention, read this please. NFS Not For Sale. I finally played them on a 78rpm speed turntable. They are records that were recorded on at someones home on their recordable record player back in 1946, August 25, 1946 is date written on one of the record labels. The first record I listened to has a little girl at the begining saying her name and what she is about to play, on piano.. “This is Sylvia Johnson and I, I’m 11 years old, and I’m going to play the “Knight and the Lady for you. Sylvia plays another song. Another side she sings songs, “I’ll be down to get you in a taxi honey” , “Give me a little kiss” and “My dreams are getting better all the time” she does sing very well at 11 years old. Another record , must be her mother, and she says. ” This is the whole Johnson family, boy what we sound like” and they all start to sing “The Old Rugged Cross” together. At the end dad says ” Amen” and a little boy or girl says “Let’s Hear It” and keeps skipping back to “Let’s hear it” “Let’s hear it”…. Well a 78rpm record plays very fast and only about 2-3 minutes per side. So not too much info. But maybe through the internet, someone might know a Sylvia Johnson that is or would be 80 y. Has a sister named Belle or Bellie? Or maybe Billy And might remember recording on records in 1946. Just imagine hearing your voice from when you were 11 in 1946, or your grandmothers voice, great grandmother and the whole family’s voices from then??? I sure would like to find this person or any family and give these to. Kinda chokes you up a bit. Unless you really want to give me 10k, then well…. Thanks for reading, and feel free to share.
