The Primary E is the same as the current Primary, except they have replaced the DC power supply, AC generator PCB and 9V motor with the old 230V motor. Eliminating the parts maintains a hi-fi grade performance but reduces the price significantly for better value. Similiar to the original iconic Debut turntables, the Primary E has been designed to give a hi-fi friendly alternative to vinyl music lovers who are limited by their budget. By removing the need for an external wall-wart power supply, the Primary E eliminates the need for any additional internal power signal processing but still retains a quiet, consistent motor rotation. The motor itself powers the same perimeter drive belt system as the original Primary. The end result of this change is a turntable that still sounds like a true piece of hi-fi, but that costs less than ever before. The Primary E’s 8.6 aluminium tonearm, was taken from the Elemental, and uses sapphire bearings for optimal tracking across a record. The tonearm has been designed to be used with the supplied Ortofon OM pick-up cartridge, and tracking force and anti-skate is pre-configured to play straight out of the box with no fiddly setup. The Primary E turntable shows that hi-fi quality turntables do not need to be complicated. Simply install the belt and connect it to a system with an MM phono stage in order to enjoy vinyl playback on an affordable device that will not diminish your records.
