    Peter Murphy Cascade Vinyl LP Beggars Banquet/Caroline Spanish Import. I bought this record over 20 years ago in the year 1995 — I was 21 years old… I’ve been a Bauhaus and Peter Murphy fan since I was 14… It is very rare as they only printed a limited number of vinyl copies of this release in Spain. Many Peter Murphy aficionados consider “Cascade” to be the very best studio album that Mr Murphy has ever recorded even ranking it higher than his 1989 classic breakthrough LP “Deep”. Every word, every song, every cord, every harmony, every vocal inflection is absolutely masterful on this album… In my opinion, Mr Murphy’s Cascade, Love Hysteria and Deep albums all belong in any credible list of the top 100 alternative rock albums ever recorded.. I have only played this record maybe 30-40 times in the 20+ years I’ve had it and I take care of my records. The vinyl record itself is in VG+ to MINT condition and shows no imperfections and plays beautifully. The outer sleeve is in G+ to VG condition and shows only minor signs of wear around the edges and in the very very subtle impression of the vinyl. The bottom left corner of the outer sleeve has subtle crumples this is the only imperfection that is at all noticeable — to a serious collector anyway the average person would say it looks virtually new… The inner sleeve is in VG+ to MINT condition with all the seams in tact, no crumpling or tearing. The outer box will be made of 2X corrugated cardboard fitted squarely to the corners of the outer sleeve of the record to prevent crumpling of the outer sleeve corners or bending of the vinyl. Though “Love Buzz” (originally performed by Shocking Blue) was remixed. The cartoon intro is a brief clip taken from one of Cobain’s early sound collages, Montage of Heck. This was Nirvana’s first single, as well as the first item issued to members of the Sub Pop Singles Club. All copies are pressed on black vinyl (45 rpm), though sleeves may vary. Numbered Sleeves 1000 copies were hand-numbered with a red marker. Examples of the numbering can be found in the Owners’ List. Matrix etchings (see below) and sleeve quality are key features of this item if you are concerned about fakes. Unnumbered Sleeves A Sub Pop invoice. Indicates that 1200 sleeves were made. Considering that 1000 were used for the hand-numbered single, that leaves 200 extras, apparently with a red slash. The extras were given out to those closely involved, as stated by Charles Peterson. I will have to look at my Love Buzz single. I might have two and I’m pretty sure that one of them is unnumbered. I think Jon and Bruce have most of those squirreled away. No matter how many records were made and what sleeve they came in (numbered or unnumbered), the vinyl should be exactly the same , including the matrix etchings. This is corroborated by those that have an unnumbered version. I mention this because there are counterfeit copies with unnumbered sleeves. Those don’t have the red marker slash. But it would be very easy to reproduce this feature. It’s been said that Australia may have received the most exported copies. M a t r i x n o t e s.
