CONDITION : The cover : rated: “EX” (excellent) / M- TOP LEVEL… The front “Butcher” cover is magnificent – crystal-clear with no imperfections! Overall as the photos show, the front & back panels are GREAT – all things considered see photos – appearance in hand is exactly like what is presented in the photos here. Most peeled butcher copies will show at least more wear, tears and imperfections to the cover slick. This copy makes makes for a fantastic display-worthy (framed) wall hanging, total greatness with no wear to the front cover! The 4 individual Beatles faces in their butcher glory are spotless clean , a rarity for even the best Butcher covers. The spine is solid – in tact and legible (per photo)… Again, far and away better than the “usual” original Butcher cover offered. A GRAND addition to any valuable collection…. Solid peeled Butchers covers like this are very scarce with most copies are safely tucked away in private collections. No split seams, no tears or rips, no writing, no delete marks, overall in reasonable acceptable investment condition – ask any further pertinent questions please. The vinyl is rated: VG++ representing a respectable platter , few minor hair scuffs is all and plays exceptional throughout — even though it’s all about the butcher cover – as you know, and the original’66 vinyl is readily available for future up-grade purposes if desired. Both 1966 (mono) RAINBOW Capitol labels are clean. A cool addition to anyone’s music library! SEE: SELLERS OTher items for similar cool sounds for “head” people. All imperfections are noted both cover & record. IF you have a problem PLEASE let us solve. GRADING SCALE: M, M-, EX, VG++, VG+, VG, VG. M Completely clean, no marks. M- Carefully used, looks clean, plays clean, shiny gloss, no marks. EX Faint scuff or superficial mark, near M-, high gloss, plays clean. VG++ Glossy with minimal scuffing or light mark playing very nice, clean. VG+ a bit more scuff or markls still plays well with very minimal surface at worse. VG more marks/scratches only minor, nothing deep, no loud clicks or pops. This grade is abused by many, VG here does not mean “trashed”. VG- surface noise present, will not have skips or jumps. (USA – CAPITOL RECORDS – T 2553) MONO. 1966 ORIG “BUTCHER COVER” – UNPEELED – 100% real deal w/ trunk paste-on cover.. This is an UNPEELED VG++’trunk cover’ with a potentially TOTALLY CLEAN (M-) “Butcher” cover underneath. Condition of the “trunk cover” means nothing in terms that there is NO concerning problems with this trunk cover ensuring the BUTCHER COVER GRAPHICS pasted over the trunk cover remain with MINT visuals – when professionally peeled. Recent information has suggested UNPEELED Butcher covers like this are getting far more scarce these days since most covers have been peeled by amateurs or professionals. THINK TWICE : holy grail BEATLES “butcher” cover – in high demand, will only continue to increase in value. Again, the vinyl is in TOP CLEAN (M-) condition!! The trunk/ butcher cover is all around: solid, having a clean (EX “excellent” clean) back cover. The disc is VG and plays just fine – which is insignificant — as we all know it’s all about the BUTCHER cover, here in solid condition; most likely will not last long. CONDITION : The cover : rated: VG++ trunk cover has some minor minor! Shelf rub wear that was starting – and contained; so when potentially peeled correctly you will have a mint or M- Butcher cover original slick underneath… There is no soil on the trunk cover , outside of little age spotting at very top left that won’t be a problem in peeling off the trunk cover process. Again, this cover has the potential to be peeled to a mint state. Investment/collectible properties have a high value ceiling with success in the peeling process which are at high standards these days. We have personally spoken to a couple pro peelers who have flawless services concerning covers just like this one. Overall, the seams are totally solid rare for a Butcher cover! , the back cover is pretty clean still white! Rated about “EX” (excellent) — nothing significant to be concerned over- see photo #2. Really hard to find such white back cover, when 52 years onward most butcher covers have age spotting – or worse! Photo #2 (if you look close) reveals the tell-tale BUTCHER cover sign in the “V” neck in Ringo’s shirt/coat. Advising anyone remotely interested in a genuine Butcher cover with NO TEARS or wear to the front (and back) cover should act quickly… Generally speaking you can’t get a clean peeled easily, at least this clean! (please – SEE FULL DETAILS BELOW). 1966 first pressing with bold MONO mixes… This is a HIGHLY collectible Original RAINBOW Capitol records BUTCHER COVER from 50+ years ago… The MONO Butcher is getting hard to find as a CLEAN PEELED “third state”… The Butcher artwork is in highly collectible/valuable condition (SEE BELOW) making for a solid investment/final collection “crown” Beatles collectible that will only rise in value as time goes by.. INCLUDED as well : besides the original 1966 Capitol printed iner sleeve is a photo copy of the Capitol Records recall of the Butcher cover, advising Capitol has decided to withdraw Butcher cover and substitute a generally more acceptable design. This is a #6 near RIAA insignia on back cover meaning the pressing is from the Los Angeles California Capitol Records plant. Many Butcher covers have been ruined when novice collectors attempted this highly difficult task… When in doubt, our advice is : DON’T BUTCHER YOUR BUTCHER!! Includes the original printed’66 Capitol Records inner sleeve ::: investment QUALITY = ORIGINAL’66 BUTCHER COVER =. <><><><><> < T >< H >< E ><>< B >< E >< A >< T >< L >< E >< S > <><><><><>. By the time the Capitol Records released Yesterday And Today , the Beatles were in hot water in America. The record was released just after John’s infamous interview in which he stated that the Beatles were “bigger than Jesus”, which angered Americans and provoked many bans on their music and public incinerations of memorabilia. But Yesterday And Today would take public dispproval to a whole new level, as the original cover featured the band in butcher’s smocks with baby doll parts and raw meat covering them. The record was pulled almost immediately – creating an instant collector’s item – and in the confusion that followed, several replacement covers were issued. Songs on the album were taken from the’leftovers’ of the British release Rubber Soul as well as the single/B-side “Yesterday/Act Naturally” released on the UK version of Help! , the single/B-side “We Can Work It Out/ DayTripper”, and three songs which had not, at that point, been released in the UK: “I’m Only Sleeping”, “Doctor Robert”, and “And Your Bird Can Sing” (which all wound up on the UK version of Revolver). Drive My Car (2:30). Recorded: October 13, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England John Lennon – lead vocal, tambourine Paul McCartney – lead vocal, bass guitar, piano George Harrison – lead guitar, background vocal Ringo Starr – drums. I’m Only Sleeping (3:01). Recorded: April 27, 1966 at Abbey Road, London, England with lead vocal overdubbed April 29, 1966, backward guitar May 5, 1966 and background vocals May 6, 1966 John Lennon – lead vocal, acoustic guitar Paul McCartney – bass guitar, background vocal George Harrison – lead guitar, background vocal Ringo Starr – drums. Nowhere Man (2:45). Recorded: October 21-22, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England John Lennon – lead vocal, acoustic guitar Paul McCartney – bass guitar, harmony vocal George Harrison – lead guitar, harmony vocal Ringo Starr – drums. Doctor Robert (2:15). Recorded: April 17, 1966 at Abbey Road, London, England with vocals overdubbed April 19, 1966 John Lennon – double-tracked lead vocal, harmonium, maracas Paul McCartney – bass guitar, harmony vocal George Harrison – lead guitar Ringo Starr – drums. Recorded: June 14, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England Paul McCartney – lead vocal, Epiphone acoustic guitar Session musicians – string quartet. Act Naturally (2:33). Recorded: June 17, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England John Lennon – acoustic guitar Paul McCartney – bass guitar, harmony vocal George Harrison – lead guitar Ringo Starr – lead vocal, drums. And Your Bird Can Sing (2:01). Recorded: April 20, 1966 at Abbey Road, London, England but remade April 26, 1966 John Lennon – lead vocal, rhythm guitar Paul McCartney – bass guitar, harmony vocal George Harrison – lead guitar, harmony vocal Ringo Starr – drums, tambourine. If I Needed Someone (2:24). Recorded: October 16, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England with overdubs added October 18, 1965 John Lennon – tambourine, background vocal Paul McCartney – bass guitar, background vocal George Harrison – double-tracked lead vocal, capoed lead guitar Ringo Starr – drums George Martin – harmonium. We Can Work It out (2:15). Recorded: October 20, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England John Lennon – acoustic guitar, harmonium, harmony vocal Paul McCartney – lead vocal, bass guitar George Harrison – tambourine Ringo Starr – drums. What Goes on (2:51). Recorded: November 4, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England John Lennon – rhythm guitar, harmony vocal Paul McCartney – bass guitar, harmony vocal George Harrison – lead guitar Ringo Starr – lead vocal, drums. Day Tripper (2:50). Recorded: October 16, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England John Lennon – lead vocal, rhythm guitar, tambourine Paul McCartney – lead vocal, bass guitar George Harrison – lead guitar Ringo Starr – drums. CONDITION : The cover : rated: the front “Butcher” cover is magnificent – crystal-clear with no imperfections! Downgrading a bit to overall “EX” (excellent) because of very minimal rub wear on spine but no seams splits. The back cover is very clean with exception of a small rub-wear spot at upper right of back, but not showing up in photos as small and still white. Overall as the photos show, the front & back panels are GREAT – all things considered see photos – appearance in hand is exactly like what is presented in the photos here. Most peeled butcher copies will show at least some or more wear, tears and imperfections to the cover slick. This copy makes makes for a fantastic display-worthy (framed) wall hanging, total greatness with no wear to the front cover! The 4 individual Beatles faces in their butcher glory are spotless clean , a rarity for even the best Butcher covers. Just the wear on spine and that little wear spot on back cover keep the overall cover from being M. Again, much better than the “usual” original Butcher cover. Overall, a GRAND addition to any valuable collection….
