By the time the Capitol Records released Yesterday And Today , the Beatles were in hot water in America. The record was released just after John’s infamous interview in which he stated that the Beatles were “bigger than Jesus”, which angered Americans and provoked many bans on their music and public incinerations of memorabilia. But Yesterday And Today would take public dispproval to a whole new level, as the original cover featured the band in butcher’s smocks with baby doll parts and raw meat covering them. The record was pulled almost immediately – creating an instant collector’s item – and in the confusion that followed, several replacement covers were issued. Songs on the album were taken from the’leftovers’ of the British release Rubber Soul as well as the single/B-side “Yesterday/Act Naturally” released on the UK version of Help! , the single/B-side “We Can Work It Out/ DayTripper”, and three songs which had not, at that point, been released in the UK: “I’m Only Sleeping”, “Doctor Robert”, and “And Your Bird Can Sing” (which all wound up on the UK version of Revolver). CONDITION : The cover : rated: “EX” (excellent) / M- TOP LEVEL… The front “Butcher” cover is magnificent – crystal-clear with no imperfections! Overall as the photos show, the front & back panels are GREAT – all things considered see photos – appearance in hand is exactly like what is presented in the photos here. Most peeled butcher copies will show at least more wear, tears and imperfections to the cover slick. This copy makes makes for a fantastic display-worthy (framed) wall hanging, total greatness with no wear to the front cover! The 4 individual Beatles faces in their butcher glory are spotless clean , a rarity for even the best Butcher covers. The spine is solid – in tact and legible (per photo)… Again, far and away better than the “usual” original Butcher cover offered. A GRAND addition to any valuable collection…. Solid peeled Butchers covers like this are very scarce with most copies are safely tucked away in private collections. No split seams, no tears or rips, no writing, no delete marks, overall in reasonable acceptable investment condition – ask any further pertinent questions please. The vinyl is rated: VG++ representing a respectable platter , few minor hair scuffs is all and plays exceptional throughout — even though it’s all about the butcher cover – as you know, and the original’66 vinyl is readily available for future up-grade purposes if desired. Both 1966 (mono) RAINBOW Capitol labels are clean. A cool addition to anyone’s music library! SEE: SELLERS OTher items for similar cool sounds for “head” people. (USA – CAPITOL RECORDS – T 2553) MONO. 1966 ORIG “BUTCHER COVER” – UNPEELED – 100% real deal w/ trunk paste-on cover.. This is an UNPEELED VG++’trunk cover’ with a potentially TOTALLY CLEAN (M-) “Butcher” cover underneath. Condition of the “trunk cover” means nothing in terms that there is NO concerning problems with this trunk cover ensuring the BUTCHER COVER GRAPHICS pasted over the trunk cover remain with MINT visuals – when professionally peeled. Recent information has suggested UNPEELED Butcher covers like this are getting far more scarce these days since most covers have been peeled by amateurs or professionals. THINK TWICE : holy grail BEATLES “butcher” cover – in high demand, will only continue to increase in value. Again, the vinyl is in TOP CLEAN (M-) condition!! The trunk/ butcher cover is all around: solid, having a clean (EX “excellent” clean) back cover. The disc is VG and plays just fine – which is insignificant — as we all know it’s all about the BUTCHER cover, here in solid condition; most likely will not last long. ORIGINAL 1966 printed inner sleeve included. NOTE : This cover can easily be peeled with careful patient removal, find the options available on “how to remove paste over Butcher covers”(and/or “where”) on the internet. <><><><><> < T >< H >< E ><>< B >< E >< A >< T >< L >< E >< S > <><><><><>. CONDITION : The cover : rated: VG++ trunk cover has some minor minor! Shelf rub wear that was starting – and contained; so when potentially peeled correctly you will have a mint or M- Butcher cover original slick underneath… There is no soil on the trunk cover , outside of little age spotting at very top left that won’t be a problem in peeling off the trunk cover process. Again, this cover has the potential to be peeled to a mint state. Investment/collectible properties have a high value ceiling with success in the peeling process which are at high standards these days. We have personally spoken to a couple pro peelers who have flawless services concerning covers just like this one. Overall, the seams are totally solid rare for a Butcher cover! , the back cover is pretty clean still white! Rated about “EX” (excellent) — nothing significant to be concerned over- see photo #2. Really hard to find such white back cover, when 52 years onward most butcher covers have age spotting – or worse! Photo #2 (if you look close) reveals the tell-tale BUTCHER cover sign in the “V” neck in Ringo’s shirt/coat. Most original’66 butcher covers are safely tucked away in private collections… An obvious timeless investment item, has no bends, no writing & no delete marks. Rated; super clean M- TOP COPY a beauty to go along with the original “Butcher” cover… Looks and plays flawless and the MONO rainbow 1966 rainbow Capitol labels are clean. Whenever The Rolling Stones do anything, they do it with quality and gravitas. Having defined rocknroll in the 60s, The Rolling Stones entered their imperial phase in 1971 with Sticky Fingers. What followed is a run of albums that couldnt have happened at any other time, by any other band: the decadent excess of Exile On Main St, the Jamaican voodoo swamp of Goats Head Soup, the disco and punk-infused prowl of Some Girls. With each new decade, the Stones evolved while staying true to their roots, coming full circle in 2016 with Blue & Lonesome, a love letter to their first inspiration: the blues. View the unboxing trailer here. Every album has been lovingly remastered and cut at revelatory half-speed at Abbey Road Studios, from vinyl specific original tape transfers designed to get the very best possibly sound from the format. Each album is pressed on heavyweight 180-gram black vinyl and includes a download card for HD digital redemption of the catalogue and includes a numbered certificate of authentication. Cut at half speed, these are among the highest quality vinyl pressings that these classic Rolling Stones albums will have ever received. Half speed mastering and pressed to a very high standard ensures top notch sound quality for the listener. Special care has been taken to create packaging to the same high standards, with detailed artwork reproduction for each album including Some Girls, which comes housed in the replica design including 20 cut-outs on the cover, while the sleeve of Sticky Fingers is presented as Andy Warhols original design, complete with a working zip with a hidden image underneath and Exile On Main Street comes with a set of 12 original postcard inserts. Abbey Road Studios engineers have been cutting grooves into discs since the studios first opened in 1931. In 2013, award-winning engineer Miles Showell joined their existing mastering team, bringing a wealth of disc-cutting experience with him. One of the artisan techniques offered by Abbey Road Studios that results in the very highest quality sound reproduction is Half Speed Cutting. This process involves the master source being played back at precisely half its recorded speed while the cutting lathe is similarly turned at half the desired playback speed. This allows the cutting head twice the time to cut the intricate groove, allowing considerably more accuracy with important matters such as frequency extremes and micro-dynamic contrasts. The resulting cuts have excellent high frequency response (treble) and very solid and stable stereo images. Its not quite as simple as running everything at half rate. There is an EQ curve applied to all vinyl records and by running the lathe at half speed, all the frequencies are wrong. However, the technical staff at Abbey Road Studios have had new custom-built filters installed which allow Miles to practice half speed cutting to the full on a modified Neumann VMS-80 lathe. LP sleeve presented as Andy Warhols original design complete with working zip and hidden image beneath. Exile On Main St (1972) (2LP). 2LP in original style gatefold sleeve complete with inner-bags and set of 12 perforated postcards. Goats Head Soup (1973). LP in gatefold sleeve with two inserts.
