BEATLES 1966 STILL SEALED MONO FIRST STATE BUTCHER COVER LP GORGEOUS! Beatles – Yesterday And Today (Capitol). 1966 mono original “First State” “Butcher” cover LP. This one never had the second (trunk) slick pasted over it. This is an UNOPENED Los Angeles issue (factory #6 on back cover). There are three “breathe holes” detectable in the front shrink wrap and one on the back. This sealed copy has a 1 1/2″ separation in the shrink wrap at the opening, where the yellow Capitol inner sleeve is clearly visible and another 1/4″ separation just below it.. Corners of cover are slightly “pushed” and the bottom right one is slightly worn. These issues are listed here for completeness, but they do not take away from the overall beautiful condition of the cover, which is very displayable. First state butcher covers are extremely rare and sealed examples rarely are offered for sale. A fantastic example of an extremely rare record. Includes Rockaway Records Letter of Authenticity. Important notes about our grading: We grade conservatively, accurately and honestly. S/S, M, M- (NM), VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, WBR (Poor). We do not use EX (many dealers’ EX would be our VG). #9745 The Beatles White Album LP Mono UK 1st Press 1968. Very low number
March 27, 2019 by admin
Started with a very low price. The Beatles – 1968 UK Top Loading Mono Cover No 0009745. Beatles Memorabilia – Double LP PMC 7067-8. We found this in our attic and it’s clearly been there for many years. I’m not a collector so have no knowledge of the value. This is a complete set with both black inner sleeves, Original lyric sheet/poster and 4 individual prints of The Beatles. This LP is always said to be the “Crown Jewel” or “Holy Grail” of any Beatle collection and finding an original UK Mono pressing with a cover number under 10,000 is rare. The original 1968 first issue, fully laminated top opening, Mono gate-fold sleeve in fair condition. Two original UK Mono first issue (No EMI Text) vinyl LPs both in good condition. Four Original, full color glossy photographs, one of each Beatle. Original, large format, double sided lyric poster printed by Garrod and Lofthouse. This has previously fallen apart across the fold and then taped back together. The tape has now gone so the bottom third is separate – see photos. Two original matte black inner sleeves in fair condition. And’Mfd in UK’ label text. All four record labels are WITHOUT the wording’An E. The disc labels are clear in the photos. Just outside the labels on the vinyl, the following is stamped. Disc 1, Side 1: XEX 709-1. Disc 1, Side 2: XEX 710-2. Disc 2, Side 3: XEX 711-1. Disc 2, Side 4: XEX 712-1. There’s also some markings in the same area that I don’t understand. Disc 1, Side 1: GGH. Disc 1, Side 2: GGL. Disc 2, Side 3: LL. Disc 1, Side 1: HT. These markings may be unique as I’ve not seen any reference to them on any other White Album. I haven’t played them so I can’t comment on their quality. There are scratches present but I don’t know how serious they are. There has been some aging of the “White” cover but for the most part it looks good for its age. The laminate is intact although there are areas on the spine where it is beginning to loosen and some discoloring along the left side of the front cover next to the spine. There are numerous light crease marks around the cover and overall, it looks grubby. I don’t know how to clean or refurbish any of this album – so I haven’t! It’s possible that with a professional clean up, it will make someone a considerable profit. Some softening along the top opening but no tears or rips. There’s a largish superficial scratch on the front cover and a smaller one on the back (see photos). The embossed The Beatles and the record number No 0009745 are very legible. All four record labels are in VG+ or better condition, with very minor spindle marks that can be seen under close inspection. No writing, no stickers. The vinyl on all four sides seems to me to be in a fair condition. They need a professional clean but they are flat and not warped. The LP comes with all four photographs which are in VG+ condition. All four prints are 20 x 29 cos and are printed on the original thick card-stock – No tears, no writing, no pin-holes, no glue or sellotape marks. There are some areas of light wear along the tops from removing them from the cover. The LP comes with the original Lip Stick poster / lyric sheet 57 x 87 in fair condition overall except that the bottom third had come away at the fold and then taped back. The tape has long since gone but the tape mark remains. Both inner sleeves are matte black and are in good condition for age. Some folds and crinkles as to be expected. I will post anywhere and I will add tracking etc. The item “#9745 The Beatles White Album LP Mono UK 1st Press 1968. Very low number” is in sale since Monday, March 18, 2019. The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis Bold As Love MONO UHQR Analogue Prod PRE ORDER
March 11, 2019 by admin
Please note, this is a PRE-ORDER. The record is scheduled to be delivered in April. Definitive handmade limited run reissue of Jimi Hendrix Axis: Bold As Love. Newly remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original master tapes. Mono release limited to 1,500 copies. Pressed at Quality Record Pressings using Clarity Vinyl on a manual Finebilt press. Purest possible pressing and most visually stunning presentation and packaging! Includes 16-page booklet with recording session info and an essay written by Brad Tolinski, former editor of Guitar World Magazine. The Axis UHQR cut is amazing full bodied, detailed, powerful and engaging. The best pressing of the record I have ever heard. Bill Levenson, Grammy Award-winning reissue producer. AP’s UHQR mastered by Bernie Grundman towers above the rest. During our listening session, I told (Michael Fremer), if someone doesn’t like this record’s sound, their listening situation is crap. It’s everything the SACD offers and more, minus the slight digital sheen, and shockingly quieter Yes! The vinyl produced blacker backgrounds than did the SACD, hence the “shock” Ed. In addition, the packaging (which was sent in an unfinalized version) is stunning; the album itself is housed in a Stoughton tip-on gatefold while the outer two-piece box is of excellent build and features a beautiful wooden spine. Read the entire commentary, based on a pre-production copy of the album, here. Analogue Productions, the audiophile in-house reissue label of Acoustic Sounds, Inc. Together with Quality Record Pressings, is reintroducing one of the most revered brands in LP history the Ultra High Quality Record (UHQR), originally introduced by JVC Japan in the 1980s! Analogue Productions presents its first UHQR title Jimi Hendrix’s 1967 masterpiece, Axis: Bold As Love, in both stereo and mono versions. This UHQR is newly remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original analog master tapes. Each UHQR will be pressed at Acoustic Sounds’ industry-leading pressing plant Quality Record Pressings (QRP) using hand-selected Clarity Vinyl® on a manual Finebilt press with attention paid to every single detail of every single record. The 200-gram records will feature the same flat profile that helped to make the original UHQR so desirable. From the lead-in groove to the run-out groove, there is no pitch to the profile, allowing the customer’s stylus to play truly perpendicular to the grooves from edge to center. Clarity Vinyl® allows for the purest possible pressing and the most visually stunning presentation. Every UHQR will be hand inspected upon pressing completion, and only the truly flawless will be allowed to go to market. Each UHQR will be packaged in a deluxe box and will include a booklet detailing the entire process of making a UHQR along with a hand-signed certificate of inspection. This will be a truly deluxe, collectible product. Each Axis UHQR will be available as two versions: mono and stereo. The stereo release will be limited to 5,000 copies, while the mono release will be limited to 1,500 copies. The deluxe box will be gold foil numbered. Axis: Bold As Love, the sensational sophomore release of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, showcased Hendrix’s expansive experimentation while acknowledging his early R&B and soul music influences. The album features classics such as “Spanish Castle Magic, ” “Little Wing, ” “Castles Made Of Sand, ” and If 6 Was 9. For those Jimi Hendrix fans who collect and prefer his many vinyl album releases, an original mono copy of Axis: Bold As Love remains the coin of the realm. Mono vinyl pressings of both Are You Experienced and Axis: Bold As Love are significant because they are not only difficult to find in premium condition but they also feature discrete mixes made specifically for monophonic release, originally created by producer Chas Chandler, Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Kramer. For this mono edition of Axis, Bernie Grundman’s Los Angeles mastering facility was utilized, using a specially equipped Studer tape machine outfitted with a full track mono head block. The machine has also been refitted with vintage Ampex 350 tube electronics. These technical alterations provided the closest possible approximation of the original 1967 Track Records mono mastering process. The edition also features the original gatefold sleeve artwork. Grundman cut the lacquers for the edition; the plating at QRP was directed by Gary Salstrom, master plating technician and QRP general manager. The Axis: Bold As Love UHQRTM will include a 16-page booklet featuring recording information from the sessions at Olympic Studios in London and an essay written by Brad Tolinski, former editor of Guitar World Magazine. As Rolling Stone states, Jimi Hendrix was the most innovative instrumental genius the rock era produced, a wizard guitar player whose sense of technique never overwhelmed the blues and rock’n’ roll spirit that was the underpinning of his genius. He improvised with the fervor of a born jazzman; he philosophized like the most cosmic rocker, but ultimately his basics were rooted in soul, a reflection of the chitlin circuit, where he cut his teeth. With the possible exception of Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience was debatably the world’s finest-ever power trio. Axis was a showcase for Jimi’s brash, scintillating songs and the grasp that Jimi and his cohorts – Mitch Mitchell on drums and Noel Redding on bass – had on the studio technology at their disposal, and the lyrical beauty of Hendrix’s guitar playing. The most lasting song for many is the awe-inspiring’Little Wing. With its perfect blend of lead and rhythm guitar (the song’s introductory phrases blurred the line forever between the two), the tune is a pure, simple thing of beauty… In true 1967 style, the production on Axis is superb. Jimi never sounded as vulnerable and accessible, vocally and instrumentally, while the analog thud of Mitch Mitchell and the solid basslines of Reddding were the ultimate rhythm section of the day – with a nod, of course, to Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, their only rivals in so many respects. 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. (Axis) followed up Hendrix’s groundbreaking debut effort with a solid collection of great tunes and great interactive playing between himself, Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell, and the recording studio itself. Wisely retaining manager Chas Chandler to produce the album and Eddie Kramer as engineer, Hendrix stretched further musically than the first album, but even more so as a songwriter. He was still quite capable of coming up with spacy rockers like’You Got Me Floating,”Up from the Skies,’ and’Little Miss Lover,’ radio-ready to follow on the commercial heels of’Foxey Lady’ and’Purple Haze. But the beautiful, wistful ballads’Little Wing,”Castles Made of Sand,”One Rainy Wish,’ and the title track set closer show remarkable growth and depth as a tunesmith, harnessing Curtis Mayfield soul guitar to Dylanesque lyrical imagery and Fuzz Face hyperactivity to produce yet another side to his grand psychedelic musical vision. Bottom line, January of 1968 brought Axis: Bold As Love to the U. An album that expanded Jimi’s six-string flame with celestial clarity, and also brought his rapidly evolving songwriting gift to the fore. It was recorded at Olympic Studios in London. THE BEATLES UK MONO White Album ULTRA LOW NUMBER #0001043 Near Mint 1st PRESSING
January 11, 2019 by admin
A superb Near Mint-/Near Mint UK Mono first pressing of. With the very low number 00001043. Millions of numbered copies of the White Album were produced, and to find a copy with a number this lowespecially in this conditionis very rare. This is by far the lowest number weve offered. The mono discs (with a unique mix, different from the much more common stereo pressings) are the earliest version, without An EMI Recordings on the dark green Apple labels. They are extremely clean, grading NM/NM and NM/NM. The matrix codes are -1/5/OM, -1/5/TT, -1/1/GP and -1/1/GM. All four sides play beautifully, without issue. The cover grades NM-; the number is stamped clearly and cleanly. On the front cover there is a small crease to the top left corner, a small and faint 3/4 x 1/5 moisture stain on the top left edge, and a barely visible area of very slight discoloration near the top half of the left edgeit looks like a bit of moisture got under the lamination when it was manufactured, almost like a puff of smoke was trapped, and it is almost unnoticeable. The back cover is beautiful, with only a diagonal lamination crease to the bottom left corner, and the inner gatefold is in beautiful condition. These are all minor distractions, but we try to note any imperfection. Overall the cover is very clean, and the photos give an accurate representation. Both black innersleeves are in EX condition, the 4 photographs NM, and the poster NM. A beautiful, very low numbered copy of an essential album. We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition. See our other listings for more from this fantastic collection. Recordmecca’s clients include the Smithsonian Institution, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Experience Music Project, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold was named by Rolling Stone as one of 5 Top Collectors of High-End Music Memorabilia.
