Record is strong VG+/EX with a few faint marks that don’t impact play. Cover has faint wear, nice shape. Grading: This is a subjective exercise and I grade it the way I see it. Near mint(NM) does NOT mean mint. It will have spindle marks and a slight defect that separates it from being mint. Other dealers may use EX or VG++ as this grade. All records are reviewed under a bare 100-watt bulb and defects are only seen in this harsh light. I do not play grade every bit of every record. Australia, The EU, New Zealand, Japan, south Korea, Taiwan. Packaging-I use regulation mailers and add cardboard to stiffen to box. The Rising Storm Calm Before Original Prep School Garage Moody Rarity Remnant label, 1967. Only 500 pressed for students of Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass 1967. Condition: Cover is strong VG, intact, no split seams, some corner wear, seam wear, ring wear. Record is naturally worn, Side One visually VG- with lots of lite scuffs that do not effect play, plays strong VG. Side two is visually VG, with a few lite scuffs, plays VG+, the number 50 written on label with grease pen. This record plays and sounds much better than it looks due to the great recording studio and pressing of the LP. This record was found in a thrift shop near Boston for the low price of 50 cents during the mid-80s by a girlfriend of a local Boston punk / garage rock recording artist. I have owned this LP since the mid 1980s and have enjoyed many years of listening to this LP and must admit that this is one of the few LPs that helped save me during hard times of growing up in my late teens and twenties. Notes: Texas garage comped on Highs In The Mid Sixties Vol. 11 (b-side uncomped),’checked titles’ writing on label, few light sleevemarks on disc, matrix info: LH-2400/LH-2401. Listen to MP3 soundclip. Note: Double LPs, box sets, etc. I don’t use this grade. A near perfect, probably unplayed record. Close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don’t affect play. Only well cared for records will grade out to VG+. Will satisfy all but the most demanding collector. A used, reasonable copy. There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice. Significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise. In the record world,’Good’ is not good! From here on down (Fair, Poor), we’re talking about beat-up records. Therefore, I will describe each item as fully and honestly as I possibly can and provide a photo of the actual item for sale. Record grading is very subjective no matter what kind of scale you use so my judgement may not be the same as you. All vinyl has been machine cleaned and play-graded on my classic PIONEER turntable when noted. I will also assign grades, when appropriate, per the following reference. (Factory Sealed) MINT : No scuffs or scratches, looks new NEAR MINT (NM) : Clean, Looks New, Close to Mint Excellent / Very Good++ (VG++): Possible light scuffs, plays good. Overall Very clean Very Good+ (VG+): Possible light scratches, plays good, but have an occasional pop. Very Good (VG): Possible surface wear and scratches. Record should play without skips but may have some noise. This vinyl is THE RARE, RARE 1965. Make their professional debut on records with Its Not the Same, b/w Say You Love Me. Uniquely, this group is comprised entirely of 12- and 13-year-old boys who write all their own material. This group consists of twins Bill and Bob Burns on the drums and. Guitar, lead singer Mike Rice, lead guitar man Bob Gourlie, and Ken Laymance on the rhythm guitar. An attractive and vibrant go-go girl, Pam Cartwright, joins the group for public appearances. Billy and the Kids demonstrated exceptional poise on their first professional recording endeavor. They play the good hard rock as well as any group Ive ever heard, was the appraisal made by veteran Wenatchee disc jockey Don Bernier, who helped launch the professional careers of these teenagers by recording Its Not the Same on the Julian label, a Bernier enterprise. The group played live in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and had a good following. They were the opening act for the Wailers, Don and the Goodtimes, Billy, Dino and Desi, etc. In a single package up to 4 at their calculated postal rate. Light wear on front (top), light wear on the spines. Pretty nice corners with minimal wear. At least very strong VG++….. Much closer to EX condition in my opinion, but let’s be conservative. Looks VG++ to EX (again, much closer to EX) and this is, mainly, due to some light haziness shown on vinyl. Only a few light surface hairlines. Extremely light surface noise noticed in parts and only a few, light, random clicks. I TRY TO BE CONSERVATIVE & ACCURATE ON RECORDS’ GRADING. PLEASE DO NOT PAY BEFORE I SEND YOU THE INVOICE!
