I will be listing some rare jazz and blues records from single collection over the next few weeks. Look out for my other listings of vintage Blue Note, Riverside, Contemporary, Pacific Jazz, Prestige, Savoy, Verve, Impulse, etc. Dexter Gordon- Dexter Blows Hot and Cool (Dootone Records DL-207). Original and quite rare first pressing, with red colored vinyl and red labels. Smoky, late night vibes emanating from these here grooves will surely put you in a spell. This is one stone-cold classic mid 50’s quintet date from the incomparable Dexter Gordon, joined here by my favorite pianist, Carl Perkins. There are but a few rare original pressings of this record in red vinyl, with prices often in 4 figures. Don’t sleep on this one. Record grade: VG strong. Great fidelity with usual wear for a VG record. Some light tics in background behind the music but a great player! Wear as seen in photos. Famously evocative cover of a hazy, and possibly high, Dexter Gordon surrounded in smoke. It really doesn’t get any better than this for artwork. This beautiful laminated heavy board cover is clean with some edge wear all around, but no major splitting. Holds together and presents nicely. M (Mint): This record will be unplayed, and typically unopened unless otherwise noted. (Excellent): This record will have very few visual imperfections that will have little to no affect on sound. VG+ (Very Good plus): This r. Ecord will have few visual imperfections. With minor affect on sound. The record will have. Resulting in light surface noise and/or background noise. Resulting in surface noise and/or background noise. G (Good): The record will have heavy wear, with very apparent surface and background noise. A plus or minus may be given, if notable.
