(USA – CAPITOL RECORDS – T 2553) MONO. 1966 ORIG “BUTCHER COVER” – UNPEELED – 100% real deal w/ trunk paste-on cover.. This is an UNPEELED VG++’trunk cover’ with a potentially TOTALLY CLEAN (M-) “Butcher” cover underneath. Condition of the “trunk cover” means nothing in terms that there is NO concerning problems with this trunk cover ensuring the BUTCHER COVER GRAPHICS pasted over the trunk cover remain with MINT visuals – when professionally peeled. Recent information has suggested UNPEELED Butcher covers like this are getting far more scarce these days since most covers have been peeled by amateurs or professionals. THINK TWICE : holy grail BEATLES “butcher” cover – in high demand, will only continue to increase in value. Again, the vinyl is in TOP CLEAN (M-) condition!! The trunk/ butcher cover is all around: solid, having a clean (EX “excellent” clean) back cover. The disc is VG and plays just fine – which is insignificant — as we all know it’s all about the BUTCHER cover, here in solid condition; most likely will not last long. ORIGINAL 1966 printed inner sleeve included. NOTE : This cover can easily be peeled with careful patient removal, find the options available on “how to remove paste over Butcher covers”(and/or “where”) on the internet. <><><><><> < T >< H >< E ><>< B >< E >< A >< T >< L >< E >< S > <><><><><>. By the time the Capitol Records released Yesterday And Today , the Beatles were in hot water in America. The record was released just after John’s infamous interview in which he stated that the Beatles were “bigger than Jesus”, which angered Americans and provoked many bans on their music and public incinerations of memorabilia. But Yesterday And Today would take public disapproval to a whole new level, as the original cover featured the band in butcher’s smocks with baby doll parts and raw meat covering them. The record was pulled almost immediately – creating an instant collector’s item – and in the confusion that followed, several replacement covers were issued. Songs on the album were taken from the’leftovers’ of the British release Rubber Soul as well as the single/B-side “Yesterday/Act Naturally” released on the UK version of Help! , the single/B-side “We Can Work It Out/ DayTripper”, and three songs which had not, at that point, been released in the UK: “I’m Only Sleeping”, “Doctor Robert”, and “And Your Bird Can Sing” (which all wound up on the UK version of Revolver). CONDITION : The cover : rated: VG++ trunk cover has some minor minor! Shelf rub wear that was starting – and contained; so when potentially peeled correctly you will have a mint or M- Butcher cover original slick underneath… There is no soil on the trunk cover , outside of little age spotting at very top left that won’t be a problem in peeling off the trunk cover process. Again, this cover has the potential to be peeled to a mint state. Investment/collectible properties have a high value ceiling with success in the peeling process which are at high standards these days. We have personally spoken to a couple pro peelers who have flawless services concerning covers just like this one. Overall, the seams are totally solid rare for a Butcher cover! , the back cover is pretty clean still white! Rated about “EX” (excellent) — nothing significant to be concerned over- see photo #2. Really hard to find such white back cover, when 52 years onward most butcher covers have age spotting – or worse! Photo #2 (if you look close) reveals the tell-tale BUTCHER cover sign in the “V” neck in Ringo’s shirt/coat. Most original’66 butcher covers are safely tucked away in private collections… An obvious timeless investment item, has no bends, no writing & no delete marks. Rated; super clean M- TOP COPY a beauty to go along with the original “Butcher” cover… Looks and plays flawless and the MONO rainbow 1966 rainbow Capitol labels are clean. A cool addition to anyone’s music library! SEE: SELLERS OTher items for similar cool sounds for “head” people. All imperfections are noted both cover & record. IF you have a problem PLEASE let us solve. GRADING SCALE: M, M-, EX, VG++, VG+, VG, VG. M Completely clean, no marks. M- Carefully used, looks clean, plays clean, shiny gloss, no marks. EX Faint scuff or superficial mark, near M-, high gloss, plays clean. VG++ Glossy with minimal scuffing or light mark playing very nice, clean. VG+ a bit more scuff or markls still plays well with very minimal surface at worse. VG more marks/scratches only minor, nothing deep, no loud clicks or pops. This grade is abused by many, VG here does not mean “trashed”. VG- surface noise present, will not have skips or jumps. ALL PAYMENTS SHOULD BE MADE WITHIN 5 DAYS Of AUCTIONS END.
