STYLE: Hand stencil spray paint sleeve with vinyl record. COLOUR: White vinyl label. EDITION: it was know that only 100 of this hand stencil spray paint sleeves were made and 25 were given to Banksys friends and the rest were randomly given to music DJs round England. This was bought in a massive second hand and vintage shop in Norwich amongst other DJ records only this week. I have taken very detailed photos and all corners look fine with very tiny minor ware. The record vinyl has some scratches on which is very common in DJ records. The sleeve looks in superb condition. This stunning example of Banksys hand executed stencil work on a music sleeve is prices between 4K to 5k on the open market today. BANKSYS original art sell for thousands and his out door murals as you know sell for a cool million. Highly collectible and solid investment for any art collector. Format: 12 Vinyl LP Label : Pennine Cat No: PSS 153LP Year: 1979 Country: UK Condition (Sleeve/Disc): EX+/NM See below for grading definitions Notes: Original UK private press, only 300 pressed. Very rare legendary recording. Signed by 4 members with unique messages including “Be Bop Deluxe were never like this” see photos. The sleeve has been kept in a clear protective sleeve from new. It does have some light ringwear, as does probably every other copy due to the sleeve being made with very soft card/paper. The ring wear has a little black rubbing caused by the protective sleeve. Apart from that it is in great shape, 1 minor corner bump, no rips or splits. The record is in stunning condition, only had 1 play ever. No marks at all on the vinyl. Side 1 label has no spindle trails at all. Side 2 has a couple of trails from the same play. I only grade Mint if still sealed but this is as close as it gets. I doubt if there is a better copy out there. Matrix: (Etched) Side 1: PSS-153-LP-A1 E. Side 2: PSS-153-LP-B1 E. We package our records in the best available mailers with two cardboard protective stiffeners, great care is taken with all packaging to ensure that your record arrives in the best possible condition. Are classed as 1 item, please await invoice. Offer only applies to listings displaying items with the free p&p logo. Job lot listings excluded. All records are visually graded only under a strong light unless otherwise stated. Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way. We only give this grade if it is still sealed and no damage to the sleeve. Near Mint (NM) A nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. The cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable similar defects. No cut-out holes, either. And of course, the same will be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves and the like. Basically, an LP in near mint condition looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. Excellent (EX) An excellent record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don’t affect one’s listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are “OK”. The label may have some ring wear or discolouration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a EX record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them. Oly Grail of Nirvana records and collectibles. It is dead mint and unplayed. I only checked the wax with gloves to certify all the markings like K-Disc were visible (it is) I have one of the worlds biggest Nirvana record collections and this is currently the coveted #1. I also have number 645 dead mint and unplayed. Museum quality framed and double sided so it can be gazed upon without worry of mishandling it. This is the real deal, and has already been registered amongst us rare Nirvana record collectors. 100% genuine Nirvana Love Buzz Promo signed by Chad Channing unplayed and in mint condition. Doesn’t get any better! The bottom left of each sleeve’s back has an area that should be numbered with a red felt pen. 1000 copies are hand-numbered. An additional 100-200 copies may be unnumbered, but will have a red “slash” where the number should be. Has several examples of numbering, but it should be noted that. Is most likely incorrect; not all copies seem to have been numbered by a lefthanded person, let alone just one person. Copies 1-499 do not match those above #500, though the exact cutoff won’t be known until more images are submitted. Two people may have numbered the first 499 sleeves, though again more images are needed to form a better opinion. Copies above #570 (since that’s the earliest example we have in the 500s) are numbered by someone else, meaning two or three people are responsible for the entire 1000. The style of writing on the high-numbered sleeves is very distinctive when compared to the low-numbered official copies and some badly attempted counterfeits. As already stated, official copies have a red number, not blue or black as have been seen in the past. Is black with labels on each side. Claims the labels have been easy to copy. Any colored vinyl is an obvious fake. Many counterfeits do not accurately copy the matrix code found in the run-out grooves of each side of the record. This is the easiest and best way to figure out what the single is. The matrix code hand-etched into Side A of official copies is 2mm high and should read. SP-23-A Why Don’t You Trade Those Guitars For Shovels? There is one counterfeit version that comes close, but has five errors: 1 the code is 3mm high, 2 the question mark is omited, 3 quotation marks enclose the statement, 4 the order is wrong, and 5 the dashes are missing, like this. “Why Don’t You Trade Those Guitars For Shovels” SP23A L31540. The matrix code hand-etched into Side B of official copies should read. In addition to these codes, each side also has the word. Machine-stamped into the groove.
