By the time the Capitol Records released Yesterday And Today , the Beatles were in hot water in America. The record was released just after John’s infamous interview in which he stated that the Beatles were “bigger than Jesus”, which angered Americans and provoked many bans on their music and public incinerations of memorabilia. But Yesterday And Today would take public dispproval to a whole new level, as the original cover featured the band in butcher’s smocks with baby doll parts and raw meat covering them. The record was pulled almost immediately – creating an instant collector’s item – and in the confusion that followed, several replacement covers were issued. Songs on the album were taken from the’leftovers’ of the British release Rubber Soul as well as the single/B-side “Yesterday/Act Naturally” released on the UK version of Help! , the single/B-side “We Can Work It Out/ DayTripper”, and three songs which had not, at that point, been released in the UK: “I’m Only Sleeping”, “Doctor Robert”, and “And Your Bird Can Sing” (which all wound up on the UK version of Revolver). CONDITION : The cover : rated: “EX” (excellent) / M- TOP LEVEL… The front “Butcher” cover is magnificent – crystal-clear with no imperfections! Overall as the photos show, the front & back panels are GREAT – all things considered see photos – appearance in hand is exactly like what is presented in the photos here. Most peeled butcher copies will show at least more wear, tears and imperfections to the cover slick. This copy makes makes for a fantastic display-worthy (framed) wall hanging, total greatness with no wear to the front cover! The 4 individual Beatles faces in their butcher glory are spotless clean , a rarity for even the best Butcher covers. The spine is solid – in tact and legible (per photo)… Again, far and away better than the “usual” original Butcher cover offered. A GRAND addition to any valuable collection…. Solid peeled Butchers covers like this are very scarce with most copies are safely tucked away in private collections. No split seams, no tears or rips, no writing, no delete marks, overall in reasonable acceptable investment condition – ask any further pertinent questions please. The vinyl is rated: VG++ representing a respectable platter , few minor hair scuffs is all and plays exceptional throughout — even though it’s all about the butcher cover – as you know, and the original’66 vinyl is readily available for future up-grade purposes if desired. Both 1966 (mono) RAINBOW Capitol labels are clean. A cool addition to anyone’s music library! SEE: SELLERS OTher items for similar cool sounds for “head” people. I’ve been collecting records for years. It is a CANADA ONLY first pressing of Rush’s debut lp released on their own Moon label. There were only 3500 pressed on this labellater pressings were on Mercury, Anthem, etc. This lp was pre-Neil Peart on drums(John Rutsey was the drummer on this album). Very sought after lp and a must have for serious Rush fans/collectors. ALL vinyl LP is beautiful and clean, scuff marks. Plays through with minimal detection. The jackets is in VG condition with split, light corner wear. Not museum piece, but a great play copy for someone that actually wants to listen to it. The photos are of the actual item for sale. SHOP AND COMPARE ITEM! RECORD IN PLASTIC SLEEVE TO CONSERVE PRISTINE CONDITION MINT Means possible unplayed> NM means near mint, in other words it’s close to perfect no nicks, marks, wear or scratches. Might have a tiny light scuff mark on the record. Plays perfect NO effect to sound quality. EX means that it is in excellent condition. There may be slight wear on the cover, but no seam splits, and not a lot of wear, it still looks great. For the record it means that it may have a few light marks, but nothing feelable, or that would light marks on the record. VG++ means that the cover may have a small seam split, or a lot of wear, but still look good. For the record it means that there may be several light marks on the record, or a couple of feelable marks that could effect the play but would not ruin the record. This could mean a short scratch or 2 on one or 2 songs. ANY QUESTIONS Can send more photo’s. EX-! Earth And Fire/Self Titled/1971 Nepentha Gatefold LP/Rare Prog Rock
Genuine Vinyl LP Album. Artist & Title : Earth And Fire – Self Titled. Catalogue Number : Nepentha 6437004. Overall Grade : EX-/VG+ Die cut gatefold sleeve. A light sticker mark in the top left corner of the rear sleeve. As you can see from our feedback, we take grading of records very seriously. If we grade anything EX, then it really is immaculate. Our grading is a mixture of audio and visual grading, and very importantly, we guarantee you will be happy with our records. Also check the large photos as they describe the sleeve condition better than a grade ever could. How It Works: Eg: EX/EX = First EX refers to the record, the second the sleeve (if picture sleeve is included). If the grading shown above shows just the first initials (eg: VG/-) then that means the record is graded, but comes with plain or company sleeve. RECORD CONDITION MINT As new condition, unplayed, often Sealed. We never grade played records as MINT. We don’t use the term EX+ EX Excellent condition, no noticeable marks and like new. Records graded as EX are immaculate, fantastic examples of the record in question. No marks, scratches, warps, damage of any kind. Often records which we grade as EX look as they have never been played – but we don’t know for sure. EX- Close to Excellent condition, usually we use EX- if there are light brush marks visible under our spotlight. All EX- records are Excellent, no scratches, warps or damage of any kind. VG+ This is a grade many buyers of perfect records avoid, but to us VG+ is the grade we give to a used but still very nice LP. This is the grade we get most correspondence from buyers about, most saying how to them this is an EX record, not VG+. There may be a very light, but more significant mark on a VG+ record (though this would normally be mentioned along with the grade), generally this is a used record in very good condition, with light brush marks. VG Very Good condition, normal wear, maybe a few very light marks, but still plays great. Perhaps not as shiny and new looking as a VG+ record. This is our average grade. VG- Between VG and G, these records aren’t in great condition, average amount of marks, but generally still fully playable. These records will have lost their shine, perhaps dulled with age, they will have been well used. G+ Just about better than good. These records are heavily played, possibly badly marked. They are good enough to play, but you may well later want to replace with a better copy for your collection. G This is our bottom grade. Could have heavy marks, be noisy to play, perhaps a more significant scratch. Heavily used, but playable is our general description of a G record. We try not to list anything with warps, if a record has a playable warp this would be mentioned along with the grade. F Fair condition, marked and some problems. There will be more information to describe faults. We try to avoid listing F records unless particularly rare or interesting. Generally collection filler only. SLEEVE CONDITION EX Excellent condition, no noticable folds or creases, no sticker marks, As New. Generally you will be incredibly impressed with a sleeve we grade as EX. No laminate damage, nice spine, no writing. EX- Close to Excellent condition, possibly a small fault like laminate lift, a word written on sleeve, slight edge fault or damage. VG+ Very good condition, this is the kind of sleeve most other sellers would grade as EX. In great shape, but light and normal wear. VG Very good, used condition. Light and normal wear, possibly a small fault, like laminate lift, edge/spine damage, or writing. VG- Worn sleeve, but still usable. Possible wear to edges, spine, and laminate. Possible writing on the sleeve. G+ Good condition is moving towards the more tatty end of sleeve grading. Possible laminate damage, creases, spine wear, graphiti, and edge wear. G Some wear, possible creasing, marks, damage, frayed edges. F In Fair condition, possible heavy creasing, tears, damage and defacement. We try to avoid F Sleeves, so check the full sleeve description. All LPs and 12 Singles are sent in dedicated LP mailers with double or triple re-inforcement. Records are removed from their sleeves and packed between solid card re-inforcers. Multiple LP parcels are packed in bespoke LP Box mailers. We take the packing of vinyl very seriously, and do all we can to ensure that our records reach you in the condition they left us. OVERSEAS : Please Read Carefully. This means we can track and insure your parcel. Cheques or Postal orders payable to “J Moore”. Europe / USA / Canada / Japan / Rest of the World. We always do our very best to ensure our customers are happy and always work hard to resolve any problems that very occasionally occur. The item “EX-!
