THE BEATLES UK MONO White Album ULTRA LOW NUMBER #0001043 Near Mint 1st PRESSING
A superb Near Mint-/Near Mint UK Mono first pressing of. With the very low number 00001043. Millions of numbered copies of the White Album were produced, and to find a copy with a number this lowespecially in this conditionis very rare. This is by far the lowest number weve offered. The mono discs (with a unique mix, different from the much more common stereo pressings) are the earliest version, without An EMI Recordings on the dark green Apple labels. They are extremely clean, grading NM/NM and NM/NM. The matrix codes are -1/5/OM, -1/5/TT, -1/1/GP and -1/1/GM. All four sides play beautifully, without issue. The cover grades NM-; the number is stamped clearly and cleanly. On the front cover there is a small crease to the top left corner, a small and faint 3/4 x 1/5 moisture stain on the top left edge, and a barely visible area of very slight discoloration near the top half of the left edgeit looks like a bit of moisture got under the lamination when it was manufactured, almost like a puff of smoke was trapped, and it is almost unnoticeable. The back cover is beautiful, with only a diagonal lamination crease to the bottom left corner, and the inner gatefold is in beautiful condition. These are all minor distractions, but we try to note any imperfection. Overall the cover is very clean, and the photos give an accurate representation. Both black innersleeves are in EX condition, the 4 photographs NM, and the poster NM. A beautiful, very low numbered copy of an essential album. We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition. See our other listings for more from this fantastic collection. Recordmecca’s clients include the Smithsonian Institution, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Experience Music Project, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold was named by Rolling Stone as one of 5 Top Collectors of High-End Music Memorabilia. He authenticated previously unknown Bob Dylan manuscripts for PBS’s History Detectives, appeared as a featured appraiser on VH1’s Rock Collectors, and has been profiled as a top dealer and collector in the books Vinyl Junkies and Retromania: Pop Culture’s Addiction to it’s Own Past. Great mono copy of this classic, perfect record. The record has some superficial marks but plays beautifully, no skips, etc… Ill call it VG+. Ill call the cover VG, though some might call it VG+, see pictures. Some corner wear and a small split in the middle of the top seam. It is on International Artists and it has the misspelling on the back cover (posturos) so that all points to an early Pressing. Let me know if you have any questions. Check out my other auctions for more cool stuff. Side 1: IA-LP-05 A. Side 2: IA-LP-05 3. All I can do is provide you with the information I see on the record and cover. As I said already, Im not sure how to tell the difference of which Pressing this is and have provided you with all the information off of the record as well as pictures for you to make you own determination. INCLUDED as well : besides the original 1966 Capitol printed inner sleeve is a photo copy of the Capitol Records recall of the Butcher cover, advising Capitol has decided to withdraw Butcher cover and substitute a generally more acceptable design. This is a #6 near RIAA insignia on back cover meaning the pressing is from the Los Angeles California Capitol Records plant. Many Butcher covers have been ruined when novice collectors attempted this highly difficult task… When in doubt, our advice is : DON’T BUTCHER YOUR BUTCHER!! Includes the original printed’66 Capitol Records inner sleeve ::: investment QUALITY = ORIGINAL’66 BUTCHER COVER =. <><><><><> < T >< H >< E ><>< B >< E >< A >< T >< L >< E >< S > <><><><><>. By the time the Capitol Records released Yesterday And Today , the Beatles were in hot water in America. The record was released just after John’s infamous interview in which he stated that the Beatles were “bigger than Jesus”, which angered Americans and provoked many bans on their music and public incinerations of memorabilia. But Yesterday And Today would take public dispproval to a whole new level, as the original cover featured the band in butcher’s smocks with baby doll parts and raw meat covering them. The record was pulled almost immediately – creating an instant collector’s item – and in the confusion that followed, several replacement covers were issued. Songs on the album were taken from the’leftovers’ of the British release Rubber Soul as well as the single/B-side “Yesterday/Act Naturally” released on the UK version of Help! , the single/B-side “We Can Work It Out/ DayTripper”, and three songs which had not, at that point, been released in the UK: “I’m Only Sleeping”, “Doctor Robert”, and “And Your Bird Can Sing” (which all wound up on the UK version of Revolver). Drive My Car (2:30). Recorded: October 13, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England John Lennon – lead vocal, tambourine Paul McCartney – lead vocal, bass guitar, piano George Harrison – lead guitar, background vocal Ringo Starr – drums. I’m Only Sleeping (3:01). Recorded: April 27, 1966 at Abbey Road, London, England with lead vocal overdubbed April 29, 1966, backward guitar May 5, 1966 and background vocals May 6, 1966 John Lennon – lead vocal, acoustic guitar Paul McCartney – bass guitar, background vocal George Harrison – lead guitar, background vocal Ringo Starr – drums. Nowhere Man (2:45). Doctor Robert (2:15). Recorded: June 14, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England Paul McCartney – lead vocal, Epiphone acoustic guitar Session musicians – string quartet. Act Naturally (2:33). And Your Bird Can Sing (2:01). Recorded: April 20, 1966 at Abbey Road, London, England but remade April 26, 1966 John Lennon – lead vocal, rhythm guitar Paul McCartney – bass guitar, harmony vocal George Harrison – lead guitar, harmony vocal Ringo Starr – drums, tambourine. Day Tripper (2:50). Recorded: October 16, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England John Lennon – lead vocal, rhythm guitar, tambourine Paul McCartney – lead vocal, bass guitar George Harrison – lead guitar Ringo Starr – drums. CONDITION : The cover : rated: “EX” (excellent) / M- TOP LEVEL… The front “Butcher” cover is magnificent – crystal-clear with no imperfections! Overall as the photos show, the front & back panels are GREAT – all things considered see photos – appearance in hand is exactly like what is presented in the photos here. Most peeled butcher copies will show at least more wear, tears and imperfections to the cover slick. This copy makes makes for a fantastic display-worthy (framed) wall hanging, total greatness with no wear to the front cover! The 4 individual Beatles faces in their butcher glory are spotless clean , a rarity for even the best Butcher covers. The spine is solid – in tact and legible (per photo)… Again, far and away better than the “usual” original Butcher cover offered. A GRAND addition to any valuable collection…. Solid peeled Butchers covers like this are very scarce with most copies are safely tucked away in private collections. No split seams, no tears or rips, no writing, no delete marks, overall in reasonable acceptable investment condition – ask any further pertinent questions please. The vinyl is rated: VG++ representing a respectable platter , few minor hair scuffs is all and plays exceptional throughout — even though it’s all about the butcher cover – as you know, and the original’66 vinyl is readily available for future up-grade purposes if desired. Both 1966 (mono) RAINBOW Capitol labels are clean. A cool addition to anyone’s music library! SEE: SELLERS OTher items for similar cool sounds for “head” people. All imperfections are noted both cover & record. IF you have a problem PLEASE let us solve. GRADING SCALE: M, M-, EX, VG++, VG+, VG, VG. M Completely clean, no marks. M- Carefully used, looks clean, plays clean, shiny gloss, no marks. EX Faint scuff or superficial mark, near M-, high gloss, plays clean. VG++ Glossy with minimal scuffing or light mark playing very nice, clean. VG+ a bit more scuff or markls still plays well with very minimal surface at worse. VG more marks/scratches only minor, nothing deep, no loud clicks or pops. This grade is abused by many, VG here does not mean “trashed”. VG- surface noise present, will not have skips or jumps. ALL PAYMENTS SHOULD BE MADE WITHIN 5 DAYS Of AUCTIONS END. The item “1966 Mono BUTCHER COVER THE BEATLES YESTERDAY TODAY no psych no prog STONES” is in sale since Sunday, June 2, 2019. AP’s UHQR mastered by Bernie Grundman towers above the rest. During our listening session, I told (Michael Fremer), if someone doesn’t like this record’s sound, their listening situation is crap. It’s everything the SACD offers and more, minus the slight digital sheen, and shockingly quieter Yes! The vinyl produced blacker backgrounds than did the SACD, hence the “shock” Ed. In addition, the packaging (which was sent in an unfinalized version) is stunning; the album itself is housed in a Stoughton tip-on gatefold while the outer two-piece box is of excellent build and features a beautiful wooden spine. Read the entire commentary, based on a pre-production copy of the album, here. Analogue Productions, the audiophile in-house reissue label of Acoustic Sounds, Inc. For sale is a first U. Mono pressing of The Beatles – White Album from 1968. Top loader gatefold sleeve with low number 0034572 and complete with poster and photos. Early first issue as has no An EMI recording on labels. Original top loader gatefold sleeve in VG+ condition. No rips , tears or writing. Some edgewear and spine wear. Original poster in VG+ condition, with no marks, or tears on the folding edges. Original photos complete and in excellent condition. No pin holes as so many tend to have. Original black inner sleeves are VG. These are well known for their flimsiness and do have minor tears on the edges, but otherwise intact. The two records are visually an easy VG+, with only minor scuffs and hairlines. Labels, without An EMI Recording text are all in generally great shape. I have had to mark both records down to VG- in my grading as track one of side one has a couple of short skips early in the track. There is also a small skip about one minute into track one of side three. There are no obvious marks that would suggest these will skip. Track one side two has some surface noise. This is a complete and low number copy of a great double album. The item “Beatles The White Album UK 1st Mono top-loader 0034572 Complete VG+/VG- No EMI” is in sale since Thursday, May 9, 2019. You don’t see the legendary “TORSO” cover and MONO MIXES vinyl THIS CLEAN.. With TORSO back cover :. Original VERVE double sided inner sleeve included! HIGHLY collectible and NOT CENSORED by sticker on back cover artwork, nor revised air-brushed out back cover art… The legendary (withdrawn) TORSO remains in BEAUTIFUL condition! Many of the very first’67 printings were covered with the sticker in order to try to hide the TORSO which was being threatened by lawsuit. This copy escaped all the drama! Original = UN-PEELED BANANA COVER 1967 printing (TORSO on back cover)… This is the much more sought, harder to find 51+ year old release containing the MONO song mixes & bold punchy production which greatly differs from the stereo release.. <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <>. Recorded in’66 during Andy Warhol’s multimedia event tour, The Velvet Underground & Nico would gain notoriety for its experimentalist performance sensibilities, as well as its focus on controversial subject matter expressed in many of their songs. Theirs was the dim world of drugs and sexual perversion, of heroin addiction and the desperate loss of hope that goes with it. Their concern was with death and violence… Oozing evil and lubricity, they made every other group look like kid stuff, and they made a lot of people nervous… There is no word for their sound but sometimes it seems as if a presence has taken it over, perhaps even His Satanic Majesty himself. You can easily imagine someone performing black masses with the Velvet Undergrounds albums. Not for the kiddies. Their world view was dark and nihilistic at a time when everyone else was singing about peace and flowers… The Doors (whose first album was a hit when Velvet Underground & Nico was released) had a darker vision than The Velvet Underground! Even Jefferson Airplane, whose Surrealistic Pillow LP defined for the time capsules the romance of the Hippie Moment, didnt turn a blind eye to the dark side of the counterculture– and the Airplane and The Doors were the most popular bands in America during the Velvets time. The Velvet Underground & Nico (the latter being a Warhol-recommended “chanteuse” who departed after the album was released to pursue an even more quixotic solo career) does function as a kind of “map of their music” (to paraphrase The Doors description of their own debut LP). The overall impression created is dark, noisy, more than a little paranoid and seemingly amoral (as opposed to immoral)– “Heroin” makes a point of being neither for nor against, but simply about ; similarly, no specific judgment is passed upon the characters in songs like “Im Waiting For The Man” and Venus In Furs. ” The album concludes with “The Black Angels Death Song” and “European Son, likably self-indulgent exercises in sonic (and verbal) envelope-pushing. But the ballads Lou wrote for Nico to sing (including the album opener “Sunday Morning”) provide a disarmingly sweet balance, and even a specific reassurance: When you think the night has seen your mind, / That inside youre twisted and unkind, / Let me stand to show that you are blind– / Please put down your hands, / Cause I see you– / Ill be your mirror… “Sunday Morning” (Reed, Cale) 2:54. “I’m Waiting for the Man” 4:39. “Femme Fatale” 2:38. “Venus in Furs” 5:12. “Run Run Run” 4:22. “All Tomorrow’s Parties” 6:00. “There She Goes Again” 2:41. “I’ll Be Your Mirror” 2:14. “The Black Angel’s Death Song” (Reed, Cale) 3:11. “European Son” (Reed, Cale, Morrison, Tucker) 7:46. CONDITION : The cover : rated: the front “Butcher” cover is magnificent – crystal-clear with no imperfections! Downgrading a bit to overall “EX” (excellent) because of very minimal rub wear on spine but no seams splits. The back cover is very clean with exception of a small rub-wear spot at upper right of back, but not showing up in photos as small and still white. Overall as the photos show, the front & back panels are GREAT – all things considered see photos – appearance in hand is exactly like what is presented in the photos here. Most peeled butcher copies will show at least some or more wear, tears and imperfections to the cover slick. This copy makes makes for a fantastic display-worthy (framed) wall hanging, total greatness with no wear to the front cover! The 4 individual Beatles faces in their butcher glory are spotless clean , a rarity for even the best Butcher covers. Just the wear on spine and that little wear spot on back cover keep the overall cover from being M. Again, much better than the “usual” original Butcher cover. Overall, a GRAND addition to any valuable collection….
