I lucked out and found a large collection of highly desirable and valuable jazz records. I tried to photograph any blemishes or damage on them and described any issues I could see or hear. You can hear for yourself the quality of the vinyl by listening to the audio samples included. I have an Ion USB turntable which I hope was adequate. I also played ones with more apparent scratches or scuffs to listen for noise, on a high end Tecniques turntable. I will provide the name of the former owner to any buyers if desired. The description of the LP follows the audio samples and images so be sure to scroll down. Among the movie related items (vintage posters including from Creepshow and Dawn of the Dead, scripts and production material including scripts, production still photos and candid amateur pictures and some film) I found about 10 record boxes filled with classic jazz albums from Blue Note, Prestige, and other major companies. If there was a scratch, scuff, or other blemish, I recorded that section for you to get an idea as to condition. The records would definitely benefit from a thorough cleaning and will have much better audio quality when cleaned. I did use a velvet magnetic buff to do a quick cleaning but otherwise I thought it best to leave them as found and leave the cleaning up to the new owner as everyone has their own preferred methods for cleaning. Another note is that the former owner put Scotch tape on the wear/stress points of the records and sleeves. On most of the albums this was done as reinforcement and not repair. On some there is scotch tape repairs. If the cover is important to you, and I didnt take pictures of the edges, feel free to contact me for additional images. On the reinforced albums, I would think that the tape could be removed if desired. On most of the covers there is reinforcement tape on the corners and on the sleeve. He also folded the sleeve corners, probably to prevent the record from slipping out. Please wait for me to invoice you before paying. This listing is for a super scarce copy of Hank Mobley, Blue Note 1568. This record has the rare Side 2 label with New York 23. I read that they believe that there were only about 200 of these produced. The record plays through without skipping, both sides. Side one has light scuffing with a bigger scuff at the end of track two and through track three. I recorded my sample through that area. I dont think it affected the audio quality but listen for yourself. Side two has a scratch that starts in track one and transitions into a scuff through track two. Again, I recorded through that area in my sample. I believe I sampled the end of track one and almost to the end of track two so you should be able to hear any defects. The cover is okay with some toning to the white. There is tape reinforcement on the corners and a tape repair on the title edge. Looks like the tear under the tape is about 2 long. The dead wax has all the identifying markings of this being a first pressing (not to mention the NY 23) with the ear-mark, RG and appropriate matrix numbers. This is one of the rarest jazz LPs ever and could be the prize of any collection. See photos for condition and feel free to ask questions. In some cases Parcel Post will be cheaper (but take longer to deliver) so please be aware of your options. The weights I use are, somewhat, estimated. If there is a concern regarding the amount quoted in my invoice, please contact me and I will recalculate the packaged item and send you a revised invoice. I pride myself in my feedback score and the very positive remarks I have in regards to swiftness in getting my items out and the care I take in securely packaging my items. If my customers have an issue, I beg that they contact me to resolve it. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. I try to get paid items out ASAP but cant always as I have other responsibilities. I WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ENSURE YOUR ITEM GETS TO YOU. EX-! Linda Hoyle/Pieces Of Me/1971 Vertigo Gatefold LP/Swirl Label & Sleeve

EX-! Linda Hoyle/Pieces Of Me/1971 Vertigo Gatefold LP/Swirl Label & Sleeve
Artist & Title: Linda Hoyle – Pieces Of Me. Catalogue Number: Vertigo 6360060. Overall Grade: EX-/VG : Gatefold sleeve. Swirl label & inner sleeve. Matrix no’s 1Y1/2Y1. (may take a few moments to load up). LIKE OUR FACEBOOK PAGE and we’ll keep you up to date with all our newly listed items. As you can see from our feedback, we take grading of records very seriously. This is very hard to adjust, but rest assured, if we grade anything EX, then it really is immaculate. Our grading is a mixture of audio and visual grading, and very importantly, we guarantee you will be happy with our records. Also check the large photos as they describe the sleeve condition better than a grade ever could. How It Works: Eg: EX/EX = First EX refers to the record, the second the sleeve (if picture sleeve is included). If the grading shown above shows just the first initials (eg: VG/-) then that means the record is graded, but comes with plain or company sleeve. RECORD CONDITION MINT As new condition, unplayed, often Sealed. We never grade played records as MINT. We don’t use the term EX+ EX Excellent condition, no noticeable marks and like new. Records graded as EX are immaculate, fantastic examples of the record in question. No marks, scratches, warps, damage of any kind. Often records which we grade as EX look as they have never been played – but we don’t know for sure. EX- Close to Excellent condition, usually we use EX- if there are light brush marks visible under our spotlight. All EX- records are Excellent, no scratches, warps or damage of any kind. VG+ This is a grade many buyers of perfect records avoid, but to us VG+ is the grade we give to a used but still very nice LP. This is the grade we get most correspondence from buyers about, most saying how to them this is an EX record, not VG+. There may be a very light, but more significant mark on a VG+ record (though this would normally be mentioned along with the grade), generally this is a used record in very good condition, with light brush marks. VG Very Good condition, normal wear, maybe a few very light marks, but still plays great. Perhaps not as shiny and new looking as a VG+ record. This is our average grade. VG- Between VG and G, these records aren’t in great condition, average amount of marks, but generally still fully playable. These records will have lost their shine, perhaps dulled with age, they will have been well used. G+ Just about better than good. These records are heavily played, possibly badly marked. They are good enough to play, but you may well later want to replace with a better copy for your collection. G This is our bottom grade. Could have heavy marks, be noisy to play, perhaps a more significant scratch. Heavily used, but playable is our general description of a G record. We try not to list anything with warps, if a record has a playable warp this would be mentioned along with the grade. F Fair condition, marked and some problems. There will be more information to describe faults. We try to avoid listing F records unless particularly rare or interesting. Generally collection filler only. SLEEVE CONDITION EX Excellent condition, no noticable folds or creases, no sticker marks, As New. Generally you will be incredibly impressed with a sleeve we grade as EX. No laminate damage, nice spine, no writing. EX- Close to Excellent condition, possibly a small fault like laminate lift, a word written on sleeve, slight edge fault or damage. VG+ Very good condition, this is the kind of sleeve most other sellers would grade as EX. In great shape, but light and normal wear. VG Very good, used condition. Light and normal wear, possibly a small fault, like laminate lift, edge/spine damage, or writing. VG- Worn sleeve, but still usable. Possible wear to edges, spine, and laminate. Possible writing on the sleeve. G+ Good condition is moving towards the more tatty end of sleeve grading. Possible laminate damage, creases, spine wear, graphiti, and edge wear. G Some wear, possible creasing, marks, damage, freyed edges. F In Fair condition, possible heavy creasing, tears, damage and defacement. We try to avoid F Sleeves, so check the full sleeve description. All LPs and 12 Singles are sent in dedicated LP mailers with double or triple re-inforcement. Records are removed from their sleeves and packed between solid card re-inforcers. Multiple LP parcels are packed in bespoke LP Box mailers. We take the packing of vinyl very seriously, and do all we can to ensure that our records reach you in the condition they left us. OVERSEAS : Please Read Carefully. This means we can track and insure your parcel. Cheques or Postal orders payable to “J Moore”. Europe / USA / Canada / Japan / Rest of the World. We always do our very best to ensure our customers are happy and always work hard to resolve any problems that very occasionally occur. The item “EX-! Placebo, “Ball of eyes”, M Moulin, jazz-funk, CBS dutch press, orange labels, hand-etched matrix numbers in the deadwax. A very collectible record in excellent condition. Catalogue no: S 64625. Visual: excellent luster; no major imperfections (minor sleeve hairlines). Audio: excellent fidelity and sound mastering. Very presentable gatefold cover, no major imperfections. This record is coming in the anti-static inner sleeve. Please check our grading system at the bottom of this description box. Fidelity Matters Record Grading System. The record is factory sealed and never opened. It is assumed to be in mint condition, however it cannot be guaranteed by us until the seal is removed and record examined. The record exhibits no defects, marks or any other indication of being handled or played. Even smallest marks disqualify the record from this category. We do not use this grade, as even inserting or removing the record from the inner sleeve may cause superficial marks on the vinyl. The record is virtually flawless, looks near new. Very minor and barely visible scuffs and storage streaks may be permitted, but no scratches. Labels are clean, without any writing or damage. The record plays with no audible noise. Just an occasional, light tic may be permitted. (EXCELLENT / VERY GOOD ++). The record may have some minor scuffs that are not feelable with the fingertip. Few non feelable hairlines may be present but the record has excellent luster. The record plays excellent, any light marks are not audible. Few light tics at times are permitted but nothing obvious interfering with audio quality. Some visible surface marks, minor scratches and scuffs (none of them is deep or obviously feelable). Vinyl still has good luster. Labels may have some minor imperfections but otherwise clean. Marks on the vinyl have minimal impact on the sound quality, the overall listening experience is still very enjoyable. Vinyl has some feelable scratches (although not deep) and multiple scuffs. Surface marks cause minor surface noise, light groove wear is audible. Most of the time the interference is below the level of the music. There are no skips, no repetitions. The record has deeper scratches and overall wear. Labels are significantly damaged. Surface noise is disturbing most of the time even though the record will still play through without skips. One of the most stunning debuts in rock history, and one of the definitive albums of the psychedelic era. On Are You Experienced? Jimi Hendrix synthesized various elements of the cutting edge of 1967 rock into music that sounded both futuristic and rooted in the best traditions of rock, blues, pop, and soul. It was his mind-boggling guitar work, of course, that got most of the ink, building upon the experiments of British innovators like Jeff Beck and Pete Townshend to chart new sonic territories in feedback, distortion, and sheer volume. It wouldn’t have meant much, however, without his excellent material, whether psychedelic frenzy (“Foxey Lady, ” “Manic Depression, ” “Purple Haze”), instrumental freak-out jams (“Third Stone from the Sun”), blues (“Red House, ” “Hey Joe”), or tender, poetic compositions (“The Wind Cries Mary”) that demonstrated the breadth of his songwriting talents. Not to be underestimated were the contributions of drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Noel Redding, who gave the music a rhythmic pulse that fused parts of rock and improvised jazz. Many of these songs are among Hendrix’s very finest; it may be true that he would continue to develop at a rapid pace throughout the rest of his brief career, but he would never surpass his first LP in terms of consistently high quality. May This Be Love. I Don’t Live Today. The Wind Cries Mary. Third Stone from the Sun. THE VIRGIN VINYL ALBUM IS STILL ORIGINAL FACTORY SEALED. The Beatles Yesterday And Today LP VG+ RARE 1971 Red Label & Purple Target USA
Label: Capitol Records Format: Lp Stereo Country: USA Vinyl Condition: VG+ Cover Condition: VG Year Released: 1971 LP Quantity: 1 Catalog #: ST 2553. Record has been cleaned and new sleeved. RIAA 16 on back cover. Red gold award printed on front cover. Red labels with the Purple target. Stamper: ST1-2553-B8 / ST2-2553-B8 #2. Offered is an extremely rare issue of The Beatles “Yesterday”… This is the Red labels with the Purple target variation. In May of 1971 Capitol Records began issuing albums on the newly designed Red label variation. The first two Beatles albums Capitol received pressing orders for were “Revolver” and “Yesterday”… Almost immediately the pressing of these two albums abruptly ended when Apple Records announced that they were going to re-issue all Beatles albums on their label. At that point there were an unknown number of “Revolver” pressed and probably only about 100 of Y&T pressed. The actual pressing numbers for these two albums is still a mystery to this day! What IS known is that in May of 1971 Capitol Records unintentionally created an extreme rarity by halting the pressing of “Yesterday”… And Today in mere double digit numbers. The first documented copy of this Y&T gem was discovered in 2006 and is listed in Frank Daniels and Perry Cox’ Price Guide, published by Bruce Spizer. Amazingly, this happened 35 years after the pressing date! Actual item pictured, not a stock photo. All records are packed in a new record custom ordered mailing box (tested 200 lbs) with bubble wrap encasing. Double LPs & Box Sets. Additional charge per LP as indicated above. Additional charge per LP or 45 as indicated above. Over ten years of grading nearly a million albums, Shuga Records has developed a consistent – and conservative – method for objectively grading the condition of everything we sell. All recordings are visually inspected under high-intensity lights, using our customized grading system. New Sealed Mint (SS). When someone says something’s “Mint condition, ” this is what they’re talking about. The album is sealed in its original packaging and has never been played. This is the highest grade for records that have been played. The album is in excellent condition and shows no visible signs of wear or damage that will affect sound quality. While not flawless, the condition is very good, showing only minimal signs of use. Any visible blemishes should have minimal affect on play quality, though light surface noise maybe present at very quiet portions or between tracks. This is a record that should satisfy all but the most strict of collectors. There may be slight ring or cover wear, or minor writing on the cover. Vinyl may have scratches and/or other visual blemishes, but should play through without skipping or repeating. Light to moderate surface noise and/or crackle may be present, however not overly distracting. Covers may have moderate ring and/or edge wear, cut-outs / hole punches, or a moderate seam splits. Let’s be honest: sound quality is low and the cover may be in very poor shape. We consider any item graded at or below VG- as a LOW GRADE item. We only sell albums rated VG- and above unless a record is so rare that its presence in the collection transcends the poor quality of the vinyl or cover. Operators are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Please leave a message if no one answers. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
