SEE ALL THE SCANS BELOW OF THIS SUPERB AND VERY, VERY RARE 1971 UK NEON RECORD LABEL ALBUM RELEASE FROM, RAW MATERIAL. RAW MATERIAL, TIME IS ORIGINAL AND MEGA RARE 1971 UK RCA/NEON RECORDS VINYL LP, NEON NE 8. RAW MATERIAL is a British band that released two albums in the early 70’s that are now highly collectible. The group consist of your standard prog quartet plus frontman Mike Fletcher on wind instruments. They developed a slightly jazz-tinged progressive rock so typical of that era and their debut album had some great moments (the longer tracks on side1) but was also partially flawed but ends in a bizarre poem recitation to string arrangements. Most prog-heads will prefer the much more even Time Is.. Rare album that appeared on the RCA prog label called Neon records. This album (with the line-up augmented by a second guitarist Harewood) was much more 70’s-sounding and left loads of space for instrument interplay and hold many fine moments that every prog head looking for rare late proto-prog should investigate. This is an original and very rare 1971 UK album release from Raw Material and comes in its original black inner bag and housed in its original Gate-fold Picture Sleeve. Both record labels are in beautiful Near Mint condition, both record labels are undamaged and are almost as new with very minimal sigs of play, all printed text is super clear and unfaded. The machine stamped Matrix, Side 1 is, AGBS 0569. The – 1 E seems to have been left off. And Side 2, AGBS 0570-1 E. Both sides of the LP are in beautiful Near Mint condition, the vinyl LP is a superb example without scratches or scuffs and show only a couple of surface hairlines on each side. The LP plays through without faults, a superb, clear and uninterrupted sound quality. The LP comes in its original black die-cut Made in Great Britain poly lined inner bag, and is housed in its original non laminated, Howards Printers (Slough) Ltd, Gate-fold Picture Sleeve. This sleeve has survived in superb condition with no major damage with the front panel in Excellent Plus condition, with just light rub marks to the top and bottom but nothing major, (see scans below). The gate-fold centre of the sleeve is in beautiful Near Mint condition, no damage and all print is clear and unfaded. Both edges and the spine edge are free of any splits and with just light shelf storage marks to the bottom edge. The reverse panel of the sleeve is in Excellent condition, similar to the front panel with light rub marks to the top and bottom. This is a beautiful example of this very rare LP from, Raw Material. Every recording was selected by a distinguished panel of music authorities. The library was first announced on the 100th anniversary of Thomas Edisons invention of the phonograph. Each recorded treasure was pressed with a special vinyl formulation that enabled a clear, quiet playing surface on a more rigid LP disk. Every record was pressed in an atmosphere controlled clean room. There are 50 library cases. Each library case houses two proof-quality long playing records, with each record resting, fully protected, within its own dust free compartment. The record is firmly supported within the closed compartment in such a way that the grooved playing surface never touches any part of the case. Each library case includes a specially written and illustrated commentary, by a respected music expert. The composers and their works are discussed in detail, and background information is provided on the orchestras, conductors, ensembles, and featured soloists. This is a truly unsurpassed private library of recorded music. All 50 boxes have been. Opened but they are all in excellent condition, the only sign of age they show is on the corner of the insert booklets that have slight sun fade from being displayed on a shelf (shown in the pictures) otherwise they are all in excellent / near mint condition.
