The Wall is the eleventh studio album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. It is the last studio album released with the classic lineup of guitarist David Gilmour, bassist/lyricist Roger Waters, keyboardist Richard Wright and drummer Nick Mason before Wright left the band. Released as a double album on 30 November 1979, it was supported by a tour with elaborate theatrical effects, and adapted into a 1982 feature film, Pink Floyd The Wall. The album features the band’s only number one single Another Brick in the Wall part 2. As with Pink Floyd’s previous three albums, The Wall is a concept album and explores themes of abandonment and personal isolation. The album is a rock opera that follows Pink, a character whom Waters modelled after himself and the band’s original leader, Syd Barrett. A tribute to the dearly departed Duane, Eat a Peach rambles through two albums, running through a side of new songs, recorded post-Duane, spending a full album on live cuts from the Fillmore East sessions, then offering a round of studio tracks Duane completed before his death. On the first side, they do suggest the mellowness of the Dickey Betts-led Brothers and Sisters, particularly on the lovely “Melissa, ” and this stands in direct contrast with the monumental live cuts that dominate the album. They’re at the best on the punchier covers of “One Way Out” and “Trouble No More, ” both proof of the group’s exceptional talents as a roadhouse blues-rock band, but Duane does get his needed showcase on “Mountain Jam, ” a sprawling 33-minute jam that may feature a lot of great playing, but is certainly a little hard for anyone outside of diehards to sit through. Apart from that cut, the record showcases the Allmans at their peak, and it’s hard not to feel sad as the acoustic guitars of “Little Martha” conclude the record, since this tribute isn’t just heartfelt, it offers proof of Duane Allman’s immense talents and contribution to the band. The reissues from the 70’s turn up still sealed sometimes, but they have a different catalog number (SD 19155), so you can spot them easily. Since we can’t examine the record (the value would be destroyed if it were removed), the most important thing here is the sticker on the back from E. This is their ca. Please research that and see for yourself — the stickers from the 70’s are completely different in terms of shape, font, color, etc. Where the shrink is ripped on the back, I’ve felt the cover texture — it’s matte and textured like art paper but of course heavy (it’s a gatefold cover by the way). One reason why fans may want to pick this up is that the British release on the Island label was messed up because of misaligned recording heads, and they corrected this as best they could for the American release on Atlantic. And for those of us too poor to afford genuine works of art like original oil paintings and the like. A true piece of art in every sense of the word. Johnny Rotten once said When the Sex Pistols. LP NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS was banned from being hung on display in record shop. The cover its about whats inside. Well Mr Rotten, I do not agree, and on that I think you should be challenged. So I challenge you. Your listening to this music that you have never. Heard the like of before. You look to the sleeve to find out more about this strange but interesting. Then there`s that banana. PEEL SLOWLY AND SEE. Peel slowly, and see… Once you Peel, its over. Sometimes its better to travel, than to arrive! A piece of paper that keeps getting at you like that. So I put it to. That you are wrong. The sleeve is a major part of the art and of everything to do with the LP. This UNPEELED sleeve is in beautiful condition. Slight dents to the corners and there is a little rubbing. Beneath the photo of Sterling Morrison but thats about it. The inside is bright and really clean. Eric Emmersons Torso on the back of the LP and inverted the shot over a picture of the band. Because they never asked Eric for his permission or never paid him, he threatened to take the band to court. The ones that Verve records. Had covered with these special LAWSUIT STICKERS are much MUCH RARER. And are without the slightest shadow. Of a doubt, the RAREST OF THEM ALL! These special lawsuit stickers proved very costly to do. More so than having. The sleeves with Eric on them airbrushed out. Which is what they did with the rest. I would grade the sleeve as EXCELLENT. The faults it has are so miniscule. This LP is 50 years old. As you can see by. The pictures the original VERVE inner sleeve with the VERVE talent wheel is also present and in magnificent. The vinyl is in superb order with a minimal amount of tiny hairlines only visible under the brightest light. The vinyl has a very new look and shines when tilted toward the light with a shimmer like mirror. It plays all the way magnificently with no jumps sticking or hissing. You would be hard. The rarest of the rare. The rarest pressing of them all. TORSO COVER with the LAWSUIT STICKER. PENNY START AND NO RESERVE. RIGHT HERE IN YOUR FACE!!!! Over the next few weeks. Penny start and NO RESERVE!!! ITALY or THE UKRAINE. All my records are housed in Mobile Fidelity Mastering Sleeves. This prevents further paper scuffs marking the vinyl when removing. The record from the original inner sleeve and prolongs the condition. Of the original inner sleeve.
