3,072 Vinyl Record LP Lot Rock-Motown-Psych-Pop-Jazz-Swing Collection Unsearched. These must have been from a long time collector because there are 3,072 albums, and there is some really great stuff here, but it would take forever to list each group and album title. These are all unsearched and all I did was do a physical count of the records in each box. There are 31 boxes and plastic crates, and 7 large rubber maid tubs full. Let me start by saying there is a mix of music genres here. There is Rock, Motown, Jazz, Psych, Pop, Swing, Easy Listening, Folk, instrumental, Disco, Movie Theme, etc. Because the boxes are all mixed with no order to them it is difficult to give solid number to the amount of records for each genre, but if I were to give an estimate I would say that there is about 65% rock, 15% Motown & Jazz, and the last 20% would be in other music genre. I took out about 50 records and checked the condition of each finding they grade good to near mint with majority being vg. I would also say for the most part the covers grade similar. Please look at the pictures and judge it for yourself. DO NOT DUPLICATE OR COPY! BEATLES THE COLLECTION 14 VINYL LP AUDIOPHILE BOX SET MFSL HAND NUMBERED #2484. THE BEATLES 14 LP BOX SET. MOBILE FIDELITY SOUND LABS RECORDS. Fourteen Half Speed Original Master Recording LPs in their UK formats with the vinyl records pressed in Japan. Inside the box, each LP has a custom cover that replaces the original stock cover with a photograph of the EMI master tape boxes and log sheets. Also included is a color booklet that shows the original LP covers plus a Certificate Of Authenticity inside the front cover. The copy we are offering here has the COA hand signed by the President of MFSL and has the unique Limited Edition hand written number of #2484 beside the signature. What is included inside the box are the fourteen record covers, fourteen records, fourteen original anti-static record sleeves, fourteen original folded custom poster board inserts that house the inner sleeves inside the covers, a thick booklet with COA inside the front cover, MFSL Summer/Fall 1982 catalog, and MFSL Geo-Disc (which can be used to align your turntable, if you wish). All 14 records look like they have hardly ever been played or handled. We carefully inspected each and every LP, and they are all beautiful and grade at lowest better than NM and most are stone M. The record covers grade between EX+ and NM. The Geo-Disc cover is thick and grades EX, an does the Geo-Disc itself. The booklet is completely intact and inside looks great, although the front and back outside pages have minor wear and some surface scratching on the thick paper stock material. The MFSL 1982 catalog has some crinkling and the last page is torn in the top right corner. The box itself is completely intact with a well working latch and hinges that open and close it. The box has a few rubs, scuffs and light dings here and there and around the edges, and one light stain measuring about 1 inch by 1 inch near the bottom on one side. With the exception of sealed LP’s, all LP’s are removed from their outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting. Upon request, we will give your sealed LP’s the same treatment. All records are carefully graded. In an attempt to give customers an accurate impression of condition rather than adhere to somewhat arbitrary criteria, The Great Escape gives an “overall presentation” grade; we do not give a “listening” grade. The collection, the box, and the contents are in great condition. More pictures are available upon request. Please ask if you have any questions. The serial number for this set is #4901. It’s very rare to find such a low serial number. I have tried to take a couple sample pictures of the records to show the pristine quality of the actual record. Please note the light shining off the records, is simply light reflection. The records have been well kept and are in excellent condition, but there is some minor wear from age on the sleeves and covers. Each record is housed in a poly sleeve within a cover and then the actual album cover. There is a geo disc with a cover in excellent condition. It can be shown in a picture upon request. The Beatles: The Collection is a vinyl boxed set of every Beatles album until’82 remastered at half speed from the original stereo master recordings, except for Magical Mystery Tour which was mastered from Capitol Records’ submasters with the last three tracks in rechanneled stereo. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) pressed a second run of the Beatles Boxed Set for a total production run of 25,000 over the next two years or until October 1985. Each album was pressed on black vinyl by the Victor Company of Japan. The album covers were replaced with photographs of tape boxes and log sheet. The original album covers were included in a booklet which also featured a certificate of authenticity as this was a limited edition collection. Missing from this collection were all of the Beatles’ singles, extended Play and a few miscellaneous tracks that did not appear on their original UK albums.
