Huge 5,000 12 LP Record Lot Classic Rock VG+ 60+ Beatles 50+ Rolling Stones

The vast majority of the collection consists of rock and roll albums in VG+ condition recorded throughout the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, with a main focus in 60s and 70s rock. The most represented artists being The Rolling Stones (50+ albums) and the Beatles (60+ albums). Approximately 300 artists/bands are represented in the collection, many which are listed below under the Artists/Bands section below. See the Open House/Record Viewing Section below for more details. Previous Sales of Records Chosen at Random from this Collection. The records and sleeves range from Fair to Mint/Sealed, with the vast majority of them graded in the VG+ (Very Good +) category, see Goldmine Record Grading Standards. There are numerous factory sealed records scattered throughout the collection. Many of the records have unused posters, pictures, and literature that came with them from the factory. Almost all, if not all, play. In person this collection is stunning, every time you pull a record and think wow how is a 50+ old record in such good condition, you pull another even nicer one. The History of the Collection. My Father grew up in the late sixties early seventies, and throughout his life he collected records. He was a music enthusiast and loved rock and roll. His favorite band was The Rolling Stones. Unfortunately he passed away in 2014, and my sister and I inherited his record collection. Since that time we have safely stored the records. If I pulled an album that happened to be sealed I would post it on its own, which did happen multiples time. Therefore, we have decided to sell the entire collection with this post. The collection consists of 5000 12 LP vinyl records (about 67 linear feet, at 75 records per feet), Seventy-five percent of the collection is in artist name alphabetical order. The vast majority of the collection is rock and roll from the 1960s to the 1990s, with a large focus in the 1960s and 1970s lets face it 60s and 70s rock roll is the best! There is also a limited number of other genres including pop a lot of Michael Jackson, Elton John, etc. , country, classical, and soundtracks, but well over 90% is rock and roll/classic rock. If there was a popular rock band in the 60s or 70s, it is almost certainly in this collection, period. The Most Represented Artists in Collection. The Beatles take first place with well over 60 albums (possibly substantially more, this is a low estimate) many with unused posters and pictures, including a high VG+ White Album w/ Poster and Pictures and high VG+ Abbey Road Original Master Recording, see the pictures. The Rolling Stones take second place following closely behind the Beatles with well over 50 albums (possibly substantially more), many with original unused posters and pictures. Other artists substantially represented with multiple albums are: Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Doors, Alice Cooper, Led Zeplin, Metallica, The Beach Boys, CCR, Crosby Stills & Nash, Eric Clapton, Buffalo Springfield, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Ramones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Frank Zappa, Queen, Prince, Def Leopard, GNR, U2, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Alanis Morrissette, the list goes on and on. No record shall be placed back out of alphabetical order. 3 Records, posters, literature, and inner sleeves, may be removed from outer sleeves with EXTREME CARE, and must be placed back in the outer sleeve in the exact configuration as removed with EXTREME CARE. Anyone seen mishandling a record, sleeve, poster, or literature will be asked to leave with no opportunity to explain the situation or offer any excuse, NO EXCEPTIONS. 5 No record shall be removed from the viewing or collection room. No large bags are permitted in the viewing or collection room. 6 Extreme care is to be used if test playing a record. 7 Additional rules will be announced at the open house which shall be strictly enforced. STICKGOD’S AUCTIONS PRESENTS. This is one of the most sought after records out there! This is the Almost Famous soundtrack on double LP! Released by Vinyl Films & Classic Records, Cameron Crowe’s opus has an amazing sounding album on 200 Gram. This album called “Untitled” is limited to 2500, it is supposed to be individually numbered on back but for some reason, this one isn’t. I picked this up at a local Seattle record store a few years ago and it was as is. The spot for the numbering is there. For those unaware, the vinyl is made to look like it is damaged and full of wear, but that is the artwork! It comes with one sleeve with album artwork, and 2 individual sleeves from Classic Records. The record plays perfectly, I have spun it twice since owning it, there are a few marks on the vinyl but play is not effected(Near Mint). The sleeve has some minor wear in the corners on the spine and a few little nicks on the opposite spine, but it is in overall Excellent. The outer cardboard box is in very good condition. In 2006 Classic Records outdid themselves with the comprehensive Led Zeppelin Box set. There has never been an undertaking quite like the production of this box set. In addition to the Super Vinyl Profile 200 gram Quiex SV-P technology, Classic Records produced these on single sided 12 records at 45 rpm speed. Every Led Zeppelin album was mastered directly from the original master recordings. Since the mastering is exactly the same as the 33 rpms and the jackets and label art are the same authentic reproductions, why would anyone need the same material on 45 rpm discs? The answer is simple – you should be more kind to your cartridge by letting it play 45 rpm discs and reveal all the nuances that are nearly impossible to retrieve from a 33 rpm disc. The information in the grooves of these 45 rpms is EXACTLY the same as in their 33 rpm counterparts. To prove it is very easy – think of the lathe as it is cutting a lacquer, the cutter head doesn’t know what speed the platter is spinning as the cutter blindly moves up and down back and forth carving the grooves. The difference is that at 45 rpm the same signal is imprinted over a longer distance and hence the “stretched” out groove is easier for a cartridge to traverse which allows the cartridge to give a better read on what is carved. The sonic difference can be quite remarkable, especially if the music is complex as with Classical music or dense as is often the case with Rock. Rest assured that you have never heard Stairway to Heaven until you’ve heard it at 45 rpm! This is as close to the master tape as we are able to get with an LP and as such is extremely special although requires you to change sides more often than with a 33 rpm disc. This set represents the ultimate in collectibles given that only 2 NUMBERED Archive sets exist assuring that it will likely skyrocket in price over the years to come!!!
