GOOD RECORDS FOR GOOD PEOPLE! FINE VINYL CAREFULLY COLLECTED & CURATED, CLEANED & CARED FOR, THOUGHTFULLY RESEARCHED, PLAY GRADED and VISUALLY GRADED , PHOTOGRAPHED UNDER BRIGHT LIGHTS AT MANY ANGLES SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE GETTING = 100% GUARANTEED! STORY PART 2: THE REST OF THE BEST. 1983 DECCA GERMANY TRUE FIRST PRESSING. PLAY GRADE: STRONG VG++. NOTES: UNDENIABLY ONE OF THE MOST RARE & SOUGHT AFTER ROLLING STONES COLLECTIBLE RELEASES. When the original HIGH FIDELITY German Decca release of this essential collection of early sides was pressed, it was hyped as containing AS A BONUS AN EXCLUSIVE 7″ 45rpm RECORD WHICH WOULD BE THE ONLY LEGITIMATELY PRESSED & RELEASED VERSION OF “COCKSUCKER BLUES IN HISTORY. However since you know the content of the song, this was very quickly decided against and SUBSEQUENTLY IT IS NOTED THAT NO COPIES WERE COMMERCIALLY RELEASED AS SUCH, WITH VERY FEW HAVING BEEN EITHER ISSUED TO PRESS OR “RESCUED” BY OBSERVANT PEOPLE. While it is UNKNOWN EXACTLY HOW MANY copies of the 7 had been secured, IT SIMPLY IS QUITE RARE IN THESE DAYS OF FEVERISH VINYL COLLECTING TO FIND A TRUE LEGITIMATE COPY FOR SALE. The evidence for THIS GENUINE PRESSING is as follows = IDENTIFIABLE AS PRESSED ON TRUE VIRGIN VINYL (BROWNISH/AMBER TRANSLUCENCY WHEN HELD UP TO BRIGHT LIGHT), EXHIBITING A MACHINE STAMPED MATRIX IN THE DEAD WAX, SINGLE SIDED, PLAIN WHITE LABEL ON PRESSED SIDE, PLAIN BLACK LABEL ON BACK. The song itself is the ORIGINAL RECORDING PERFORMED ONLY BY MICK & KEITH AS DOCUMENTED. As for the condition of the package as a whole, this is a VERY NICE LOOKING & NICE PLAYING EDITION. Some light forgivable storage/shelf wear to the box & inner sleeves. You can see the 2 bottom box corners are split, resulting in some paper wear however the resulting”flap” is still quite solid to the construction of the box. The 45 has some marks as well and plays perhaps more in grade with audible artifacts but is still VERY BOLD & ENJOYABLE & POWERFUL IN BOTH AUDIO & HISTORICAL CONTEXT. Fewer & fewer are willing to part with this release once in their collections!! The Rolling Stones Story – Part 2 (The Rest Of The Best – Single-Tracks And Rarities From The Decca-Period). 7, Single Sided, Limited Edition. I Want To Be Loved. Poison Ivy (1st Version). Fortune Teller (Studio Version). Tell Me (2nd Version). Time Is On My Side (1st Single Version). I’ve Been Lovin’ You Too Long. Da Doo Ron Ron. The Rolling Stones Live! We Want The Stones / Everybody Needs Somebody To Love. Pain In My Heart. I’m Movin’ On. I’m All Right. Everybody Needs Somebody To Love (2nd Version). (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction. The Spider And The Fly. Get Off Of My Cloud. The Singer Not The Song. As Tears Go By. Look What You’ve Done. Blue Turns To Grey. Con Le Mie Lacrime (As Tears Go By – Italian Version). Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow. Who’s Driving Your Plane. Let’s Spend The Night Together. Sittin’ On A Fence. Child Of The Moon. You Can’t Always Get What You Want (Single Version). Liner Notes [Sleeve Notes], Compiled By, Research, Concept By, Supervised By. 4 LP-Box including 1-Track 7″ Single “Cocksucker Blues. The single came in a plain white sleeve with plain white label on the A-side. The B-side is blank without a track, no matrix, it has a plain black label. Only a few copies had been distributed to the press, and some copies were rescued for private collections. Barcode and Other Identifiers. Label Code: LC 0171. Rise & Fall Of Paramount Records Vol. 1- Vinyl New Blues
How did a Wisconsin chair company, producing records on the cheap and run by men with little knowledge of their audience or the music business, build one of the greatest musical rosters ever assembled under one roof? Paramount Records was founded on a modest proposition: produce records as cheaply as possible, recording whatever talent was available. Over its lifetime, the label would become a race records powerhouse, its sound and fortunes directly linked to the Great Migration. By the time Paramount ceased operations in 1932, it had compiled a dizzying array of performers still unrivaled to this day, spanning early jazz titans (Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller), blues masters (Charley Patton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Son House, Skip James), American divas (Ma Rainey, Alberta Hunter, Ethel Waters), gospel (Norfolk Jubilee Quartette), vaudeville (Papa Charlie Jackson), and the indefinable other (Geeshie Wiley, Elvie Thomas). Paramount would also directly influence the style of Robert Crumb and countless other 20th century artists and illustrators, through a series of hand-drawn ads promoting its releases in the pages of the Chicago Defender. The Rise and Fall wonder-cabinet gives equal status to page-turning narrative and new scholarship; original and newly created graphic art; industrial design; and compelling analog and digital music experiences. Volume One contains the following. 800 newly-remastered digital tracks, representing 172 artists 200+ fully-restored original 1920s ads and images 6x 180g vinyl LPs pressed on burled chestnut colored vinyl w/ hand-engraved, blind-embossed gold-leaf labels, housed in a laser-etched white birch LP folio 250 page deluxe large-format clothbound hardcover art book 360 page encyclopedia-style softcover field guide containing artist portraits and full Paramount discography Handcrafted quarter-sawn oak cabinet with lush sage velvet upholstery and custom-forged metal hardware First-of-its-kind music and image player app, allowing user mgmt of all tracks and ads, housed on custom-designed USB drive Dimensions: Length 18.5″/ Width 16″/ Height 5.75.
