Light seam wear, no splitting. 6-eye Columbia center label with’Demonstration Record Not For Sale’ print over label. Light surface scratches but plays great (checkout the soundclips)! Deadwax matrix side 1: XLP-55619-1A / deadwax matrix side 2: XLP-55620-1A. Listen to the sound clip. Please note our grading below. M (Mint): We only use this grade if a record is sealed & has never been played. M-/NM (Near Mint): A very clean record, may have light superficial scuffs, but does not affect play. VG+ (Very Good Plus): A well-cared-for-record that is noticeably less then perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but will not be split. A rare and exceptionally nice UK first pressing of David Bowies 1971 masterpiece. With the legendary dress cover, on Mercury Records. This authentic first pressing has stamped matrix numbers and textured cover, with the uncropped photograph of Bowie wearing his mans dress designed by Mr. This is the more scarce variant with Tony Visconti spelled correctly on both disc labels a slightly earlier variant misspelled Viscontis first name Tonny. We bought our first copy in 1973, and it was extremely rare thenonly two years after release. This example is easily the finest weve seen in the 44 years since. The fragile cover is in Near Mint condition with only some very light wear to the bottom spine, and the faintest of wear to the edges. The disc is in Mint/Near Mint condition, and probably has been played no more than 3-4 times. The vinyl shows no sign of play or wear at all, other than one small, superficial (and silent scuff). The Side 1 label has no spindle marks, while the Side 2 label has what looks like a single one. The matrix numbers are 6338041 1Y//1^420 1 1 4 and 6338041 2Y//1^420 1 1 1. BOB DYLAN – Unplayed Mint Stereo Six-Eye 1st Pressing Debut Album /Ultra Rare! SEE OUR OTHER RARE RECORDS & MEMORABILIA. Here is something weve never seen, in 45+ years of record collectinga likely unplayed Stereo first pressing of Bob Dylans 1962 debut album, with the six-eye Columbia label. Only the earliest pressings had the six-eye label, with Columbia coincidentally changing their label design almost immediately after this albums release. Adding to its desirability, this copy comes from the collection of the late Theo Bikel, one of Dylans earliest supporters, who urged Dylan to travel to the American South to see the Civil Rights struggle up close, and when his manager, Albert Grossman, refused to pay for the trip, Bikel himself bought Dylan an airplane ticket. Dylan, Bikel, Pete Seeger and The Freedom Singers participated at a voter registration rally in Greenwood, Mississippi, with Dylan performing Only A Pawn In Their Game. The disc here is in mint condition, and shows absolutely no sign of play, with no wear and not even a single spindle mark on either label. The cover, in vg+ condition, has some light wear and Bikels white tape label with indexing notations, which he put on all of his records. The cover has the Numeral 2 on the back right hand corner. Very likely the cleanest surviving example of this extremely rare album, with exceptional provenance. Our accompanying letter of authenticity will detail that we acquired this directly from Bikels estate. SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE PICS. Up for sale is my personal Björk collection, probably my most prized possession. 155 PIECES IN TOTAL (if i counted correctly and not including the many magazine clippings). I don’t want to break up the collection because I want to get the most value I can out of it, so I don’t think I will sell anything separately. My goal was to collect every björk related vinyl release and I nearly did, as well as many other items I found along the way.. I’m only missing a few key vinyl pieces. But besides that I have most of the main vinyl releases from her solo and pre solo careers. I stopped collecting around the time Vulnicura came out, so I’m missing all the Vulnicura singles/remixes. I have most of the cassette releases too and a lot of her early press photos and lots of magazine clippings and posters. If someone buys this, you could probably start a small björk museum! Many of these records are NEAR MINT(NM) or STILL SEALED but they are all AT LEAST VG+ to EX (except for a small handful that I would grade as Good). I will grade each one below. 6,000+ RECORDS mostly 33’s maybe about 500 are 78’s and 45’s. The only duplicates are of more Valuable groups like the. 2,000 CASSETTES – half original recording a bunch from Jam band concert recordings from “Tapers section” from the GRATEFUL DEAD , PHISH, moe. 200+ 8 TRACKS – all original recordings. 100+ VHS COLLECTION – all original recordings mostly DISNEY clamshell. My personal music collection of over 40 years of collecting. Almost all records are bagged and in alphabetical order and are stored in a climate controlled storage unit. Hundreds are personally autographed too. Not junk dollar bin stuff , lots of Rare mostly Rock >>tons of Beatles, KISS , Stones , Grateful Dead etc…. But a good amount of Pop and Country. Take time and look at all the pictures on FLICKR (link below) Cash only , Nothing separated only complete collection, no cherry picking. Would love to sell to someone who has a store or loves music like I do. Would also consider a trade for a nice RED. Guidelines for assessing the grading / condition of used records (based on Goldmine Grading for Records). It looks as though it had never been handled. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains. No stickers address labels, writing on the covers or labels. No tears or seam splits. No wear to the cover or record period! Age of the record has nothing to do with it. NEAR MINT or NM , M- : this record appears virtually flawless A very minor scuff and very little else can appear on the vinyl. It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw is very hard to see. The cover looks as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and or age. Minor impressions to the cover (due to the outer edge of the vinyl resting inside) may be acceptable, however the artwork is be as close to perfect as can be. EXCELLENT or EX or VG++ : minor scuffs which are only slightly visible. There may be more than a few scuffs and NO Scratches COVER: Artwork is still as close to perfect as can be. Some impression to the cover (minor outer ring wear) but no ink wear! Some slight creases to the corners, but not wrinkled and obtrusive to the eye. The corners can show white (where the artwork pasted slick was) meaning, slight wear. No seam splits or writing on the cover or taped repairs can make this grade. VERY GOOD PLUS or VG+ record shows wear, surface scuffs. The vinyl still has a great luster, but the flaws will be noticeable to the naked eye. If the flaws don’t cause any surface noise, the vinyl can still make the VG+ grade. COVERS: A virtually clean cover, but may have small writing on it. The artwork looks clean with slightly more aging. The back of the cover usually gives away the age of the cover. Flat white paper will be somewhat yellow yet no stains or mildew from water damage. Some minor wear to the seams or spine, but no tears or holes popping through. The corners will be slightly dog eared yet no crackly bends, defacing the artwork. In essence, a VG+ cover should have no more than 3 flaws mentioned. VERY GOOD or VG: this record is a record that is good enough. They are not really going to look very good, but it will STILL play very good. There will almost always be some surface noise when they are played. The Dynamics should still be excellent, overpowering the surface noise. A VG record will appear well have been played but still have some luster. VG covers will look worn, used. There may be some seam splitting. There will be some ring wear, where the ink has begun to wear off. Giving the cover a look of snow falling. If the artwork looks snowy all over, it is less than VG condition. There may be some writing on the cover (still, no Large letters in magic marker). It will look aged and more yellowish due to contamination’s in the air (sometimes looking like cigarette smoke). Still it should be decent. GOOD or G A good record will look very well played, dull, grayish and possibly abused. However a Good record should still play. It will have distracting surface noise. Such as crackle that is continuous or some hiss. Will also have some loss of dynamics caused from grooves being worn. It should play without any skips or any obtrusively loud pops or repeated clicks, caused by deep scratches. Good means that it will play with some form of decency, so one can still enjoy the music even though you can still hear noise caused from the wear. A Good cover will have just about everything wrong with it. It will have seam splits possibly taped repaired, but only with scotch tape. No duct tape or masking tape repairs. These are big turn offs. If the artwork is worn, it is POOR and the cover is worthless. Fair is inbetween Good and Poor.
