My record collection is taking over my home, HELP! I’ve been collecting records since 1986 when I first heard Licensed To Ill by the Beastie Boys and fell in love with music. Through the 1990s record collecting hit a low point in North America as the CD format was introduced to the public and digital took off. You could walk into almost any thrift store and have your pick of records for 25 cents a pop. I never stopped collecting vinyl as my preffered format for music listening and as a result of this I bought a LOT of records during the 1990s (and still do). As a result over the years my personal collection of records has gotten massive. About 10 years ago I got to over 10,000 records and decided I needed to do something about it since they were taking up way too much space and I didn’t really have the time to listen to most of them anyway. As a result the bulk of my collection was boxed up and has been sitting in storage untouched, until now! I’m a full on anal retentive record collecting geek. I was careful to regularly change needles on my turntable. As well I had a pet free and smoke free home. You are getting them from a fellow record collector who has the same passion for collecting as you do! However I have decided to clear out the used records that have been pilling up for almost 30 years now. I will be running no reserve auctions with a 99 cent starting price on thousands of records. Here is some of the feedback we’ve been receiving from our first round of auctions. LP in terrific shape, packed superbly and sent FAST! A great deal done well!!! Record grading is not an exact science and one persons VG+ can be another persons NM and so forth. SLEEVE CONDITION: I have decided not to take the time to grade the sleeves since as they say’a picture is worth a thousand words’. This is an original black vinyl pressing of of one of the greatest Rock records. The vinyl is in near mint condition, the sleeve has one bent corner (see pics). As you probably know there’s all sorts of info on how to identify a real one versus a bootleg. Refer to the last few pics for each of the individual etchings in the runout. Edition of 2500 copies on black vinyl out of a total pressing of 3000 copies for the first pressing. Issued in a gatefold sleeve. Tracks are listed sequentially, regardless of sides. Mastering (lacquer processing) company uncredited, identified by the matrix numbers. COUNTERFEITS: This album has been heavy bootlegged since 2003. All counterfeits also issued in a gatefold sleeve. Differences can be determined by looking at the gatefold sleeve (see image) or the runout-groove etchings. Original copies have the MR-151-A on one side of the runout at the 6 o’clock position and L-50953 at the 12 o’clock position. Some bootleg copies have no run-out groove etchings at all. This is the rare first issue of Led Zeppelins 1969 Debut UK self titled album release, Led Zeppelin. This first issue album comes in its original Turquoise Lettering laminated sleeve and Super-hype Publishing Record Label Credits. Both record labels are in superb undamaged Excellent Plus condition, clean and bright and undamaged record labels with just a few light signs of play to the centre of each record label. Both sides of the Vinyl LP are in clean Excellent condition, bright vinyl surfaces to both sides, with just a few light surface hairlines, and a scratch on track 1 side 1 which produces a few light clicks, otherwise a great sound quality with a 7/10 for play quality. The LP comes in its original white die-cut polythene lined inner bag, and is protected in its original glossy laminated, Turquoise Lettering Picture sleeve. This sleeve is a respectable example in Very Good Plus condition, it has retained its gloss shine to the front and reverse panels, there are no seam splits, tears or handwriting, with signs of LP storage and a few laminate pinches and creases, there are a couple of laminate bubbles on the top front panel.
