    ORIGINAL SIGNED 1st pressing. SAMHAIN – UNHOLY PASSION. This is everything included from the first release, including SAMHAIN. Original paper sleeve, original cover and HEAVY VINYL ALBUM. This EP is matrix etched “PL9-05A” PL9-05B” and “1/85. Beautiful in every way. Autographed By Danzig at the Irvine Meadows show 1992. Vaulted and stored, before and since that day, in a sealed LP cover. With any visible damage, for age – including ring wear, minor dog ear, visible scratches or dings at a minimum. I have met and been back stage with Glenn many times over the years, from the Misfits to Samhain to Danzig. This was at the Danzig Irvine Meadows Halloween show, when he recorded Demonsweatlive. I was on stage working along with Jesse James (as seen on the back cover of Demonsweatlive EP) and others for the pre signing autographs, show and backstage party. Fiend and fan for life — LOVINGLY and WELL PRESERVED. All has been stored in a SMOKE FREE HOME. I have an extensive collection of Misfits, Samhain, Danzig, Metallica, Punk and Tattoo memorabilia.     MISFITS HALLOWEEN 7 Vinyl 45 Original PLAN 9 PL1017 Danzig Dark Orange Cover. Strong VG+ playing surface, a few extremely light marks that do not affect playback. VERY SLIGHT wavy warp (almost unnoticeable but being detailed here) that does not affect playback. Center labels are in beautiful condition. Play tested a couple times with my vintage Shure V15 Type III, sounds fantastic. Light seam wear and corner rubbing, no splits, great color. Light ring wear, light creases visible on the back of the sleeve. Overall a really excellent copy, packed with exceptional care, double cardboard mailer with solid stiffeners and insured. I’m looking forward to sending some choice records to new homes! All records securely packed in sturdy cardboard mailers with LP outside jacket in a plastic outer sleeve.     Title: 3 Hits From Hell. Format: 7 / EP. Label: Plan 9 – PL1013. Media Condition: Very Good (VG). Cover Condition: Very Good (VG). Absolutely perfect in every way – certainly never played, possibly even still sealed. (More on still sealed below). Should be used sparingly as a grade, if at all. Near Mint (NM or M-). A nearly perfect record. Many dealers won’t give a grade higher than this implying (perhaps correctly) that no record is ever truly perfect. The record shows no obvious sign of wear. An LP jacket has no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect. No cut-out holes, either. And of course, the same is true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, and the like. Basically, Near Mint looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. Very Good Plus (VG+) [Goldmine (EX)]. Shows some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don’t affect one’s listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sign are OK. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but is should be barely noticeable. The center hole is not misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turn-up corners, or a slight seam-split. In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. All but the most mint-crazy collectors will find a Very Good Plus record highly acceptable. Many of the defects found in a VG+ record are more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during the song’s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them. Good (G), Good Plus (G+). Good does not mean bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. A jacket or sleeve has seem splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object. If it’s a common item, you’ll probably find another copy in better shape eventually. But if it’s something you have been seeking for years, and the price is right, get it. Poor (P), Fair (F). The record is cracked, badly warped, and won’t play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and/or writing. The LP jacket barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, and written upon. Pressing from the last 10-15 years or so. It’s too easy to reseal on. Yes, some legitimately never-opened LPs from the 1960s still exist. But if you’re looking for a specific pressing, the only way you can know for sure is to open the record.     I’ve been collecting vinyl records for years but it’s now time to clean my collection up. And here come the good news: this is the FIRST PRESSING with black back cover and it’s NEW AND STILL SEALED. That’s it: still sealed after almost 40 years it came out. Good luck finding another holy grail record like this, still sealed and in pristine condition. Cover is still MINT despite all these years and record, well it’s obviously mint and never played. I bought it over 10 years ago and it’s been sitting at home, properly stored with my other records. This records is located in Mantova, Italy. The PICTURE SLEEVE and INSERT: it’s an EX. I bought it in late 1978? And never took the sleeve out of the standard-issue’poly’ sleeve that i put it into, the next day. Soo the’scuffs’ as itemized below were done by yours truly, but none of them have any effect on the playback audio (see below in the “grading info”) ================ THE MISFITS, Bullet // original 1st pressing (black), with insert runoff matrix (side A): “SP 1001-A Rich Flores” runoff matrix (side B): SP 1001-B R. Check, check, double check. ================= (note: scan #4 is of the inside lid of my scanner/printer, which has some smudges/dirt on it, some of which will show on the scans #5 and #6 of the A-side and B-side of the 45, in exactly the same place) GRADING INFO (viz real time PLAYTESTING) — THE RECORD: is a legit VG++. Here was the playtesting method employed, in real time yesterday on 5/20/20: i stood right next to the chest-high’top speakers’ old’bookshelf’ Sonys that are used as giant tweeters. On top of a pair of giant Altecs that were donated to us cheap by the old Salvation Army store out in livermore, way back in the mid-80’s. My my workhorse Technics SL-1700 turntable (direct drive, with an Empire cartridge) has a needle that’s almost brand new, so all the “testing setup” tools looked good. And i had a page of notebook paper on a clipboard, a felt pen in the left hand, and a battery-powered alarm clock sitting right beside the turntable, so’s to identify THE NEAR EXACT SECOND anything fishy was heard on the bookshelf speakers ten inches away. Pops, “tics, ” surface noise, etc. NOTE: the title track has been played only maybe five times tops, in the 40+ years that i’ve had it. The other tracks, maybe just twice total just over the same decades (as the original owner). Because i had the songs on the Beware 12″ issue a couple years later (which was eventually swapped out for some big trade’want list” items, by the mid- 90’s). The playtesting results: (see scan #7’s manual worksheet that i wrote the real-time notes onto): PLAYTESTING CONDITION GRADING: listening with my ears one foot away from the speakers, for any “pops” or “skips” with the’second hand’ of an alarm clock my reference guide for what minute/second any defects show up Side 1, Tk1 and Tk 2 (both) : n/a (nothing) Side 2, Tk 1 and Tk 2 (both): n/a (nothing) none of the “visual” (scuffs, described below, inc the first one which looks more like a scratch/ding) had any effect on the playtest audio. It played straight through with a single “pop, ” ditto. I’ve only played the S1 Tk1 maybe five, six times total since taking it home (in its year of issue), and the S2 maybe only twice total (before today), so this “defects-free” of a playtest is not totally surprising. Both this 45 and the Horror Business 45/ep have so much “white noise” coming from the drum kit (= its cymbals, at a couple spots in each song), that i don’t think if there WAS any’surface noise’ (i didn’t hear any on either 45) that a person would be able to clearly identify it in the audio. VISUAL GRADING: this was done (a) outside in sunlight, and with a magnifying glass, and (b) inside under a lamp, and with the same magnifying glass. Here is what i saw: Side 1 Tk1 — there’s a 1/4 scuff or a ding/scratch? Sitting on the first half of the cut. Side 1 Tk 2 — didn’t see anything, i. Scuffs or scratches Side 2 Tk 1: there’s two 1/4 dings scuffs? One is near the start of Tk1, and the second scuffs looks like it starts about halfway into the track. Then there’s also a 1/2 long, 30deg’lateral scuff’, and Side 2 Tk 2 — then there’s a similar’lateral scuff’ in the opposite direction, maybe thirty seconds into the cut any audible effect on the playback test audio: none! PICTURE SLEEVE CONDITION: the picture sleeve and insert: it’s an EX. (and this is the first time that i’ve ever unfolded or even touched/looked at the insert, in order to scan it just now) after i bought the 45 in 1979 (or late 1978)? I never took its picture sleeve out, after i’d put it/the record into one of the standard-issue’poly’ sleeves,’ which is still the same one that it’s always been in. In the interest of being a reasonable-effort, full-disclosure trainspotter, i will scan ALL EIGHT CORNERS of the picture sleeve the back sleeve far left two, plus two at the fold from the back sleeve’s side, then the same two from the front side, and then finally the front side’s right side = 2 + 2 + 2 + 2= 8 corners total. Four of them (the first two and the last two) look as sharp as an ex/nm baseball card’s four corners, untouched at the top of a’cello pack’ if it were 1962 or 1972. SO I WILL SCAN THEM with my awesome littke HP 3512 “printer/scanner” to check it out. I’m feeling two grade-A “EX/NM” quality corners, but this isn’t a T52 high-number Mantle rookie, so it really doesn’t matter as much to the tree that made it as the mantle T52 rookie would’ve. But take this to the bank, FETCH WILL HAPPEN SOMEDAY. Results of “sleeve-corner(s) scans”: whoa, trippy. What looks like a MT perfect corner from just six inches away (the back cover’s top left corner for starters) — when blown up (enlarged) by 400%, it shows lots of sub-microscopic wear. But it (back to six inches away, visually) still matches up against anyone’s officially-graded “EX” sleeve condition, i think. ADHESIVE: there isn’t any. As you know, this was a “wrap around” (sometimes called “gatefold”) thick-cardstock sleeve as in, left to right from the backside’s far left side, and then folded at the half-way point, such that the p/s’s’right half’ became the front cover. In addition, the inside-back has an additional 1/2’ridge’ coming up from the bottom on that side only, in order to hold the record that’s inside its same’plain white sleeve’ that it came in within the p/s itself. There is no bleed=through of the front cover’s “red ink” (either the band name or the JFK head blood) into the other side of the p/s. Or i’ll have Bill Graham fly it out personally in his helicopter hahahaha. Since this is an important record in the history of Misfits discogs, i’ll pack (in a 45s cardboard mailer) / then double-pack it (into a slightly larger hard-cardboard box or album record mailer) and then, what the hell, triple-pack it. If it arrives to you quaDRUple packed, that means the last imaginary intern got a little carried away with their work order over at the packing station. Uh — checking — yeah, cans. Like o m g, seriously. Jeez, what a head scratcher… Wait, let me take a poll of the mentally challenged who are suffering from speedmetal slampit cranium damage… So, like…. Could possibly “go wrong”? At a medium-large 1981 west coast’hardcore punk’ gig in i already said 1981? Yeah, ok, i did san francisco. Obviously nothing, nothing to see, just some kid’s skull bloodied with a bass guitar’s butt-end and general chaos shutting the gig down. In the early and mid-70’s, charming midwest towns like Toledo were infamous for having one or two audience members sail M-80’s — repeat, M fucking 80’s — at the basketball arena stage at an Aerosmith or Alice Cooper concert (pick one, pick either), so obviously progress was not made between “70’s hard rock or early heavy metal” zeppelin, black sabbath, grand funk railroad, deep purple blue oyster cult and a handful more gold-album loud-as-fuck popular live acts of the time, i. The soundtrack of yours truly’s college years, Led Zep /#1 right through the awfu Led Zep #5 aka “outhouses of the holy” and man did it sound like it. Anyway i wasn’t there at the SF Misfits gig, so i’m just speaking out of my ass. HOWever, for the benefit of “fact checking” points i. No bonus points, just minimizing the demerits that will be assigned for talking out of my bunghole, instead of through the beany-and-cecil twirly copter that came out of the womb with me, attached to my beautiful arkansas head i will google-see-looky-loo for the “best first person description” of the melee in question (and cut/paste it to the bottom, below, if it is an html file that can be cut/pasted). I wasn’t there so, ok whatever. Although i had been there at their previous year’s On Broadway/SF Mab (upstairs from the Mab) gig (on 11/20/1981) and got into a semi-incoherent argument (with jeff bale of MRR and two other random strangers w/jeff that i’d never met then or later) over the musical skills of said three Misfits guys holding instruments. I’m a bobby steele lineup fan, so my opinion was immediately declared invalid before i’d started it up. And then i was outnumbered, and then’disqualified’ again, because (to paraphrase) you’re in a band anyway, so what the fckk do you know about music anyway? Hey, destroy all music can’t use it, and never forget deny everything deny everything. I stuck with the horse that brung me (the fall 1980 circle jerks 3-lp prog rock opera being one of my favorite rock albums, then now and inbetween), and, whatever man, i just got outnumbered. And no attempt by me was made whatsoever at citing my own caveman-level guitar playing as a credential to qualify myself as a judge of ANY guitar playing except, obviously, the “early 70’s heavy metal” that got me through my undergrad state university college years in fayetteville AR, then dallas/ft worth, and finally a snappy final five semesters in austin, TX, itself right then about to percolate as the western-front of the “outlaw country” movement, ” the punk rock of its time re nashville’s beyond-hideous “countrypolitan sound (someone drag billy sherrill out of his future grave, hand me an AK-47 assault thing, and i will blow up his skeleton fifty times after i set it on fire with toxic chemical). I was busy listening to deep purple led zeppelin blue oyster cult grand funk railroad at the time, so i didn’t really notice mr sherrill’s eternal future label as the man that satan sent to destroy everything you liked about country music until he got there. Please indicate if you want spice girls stickers attahced to the mailer, and whether you prefer scary (spice), sporty the lesbian, or (my’bias’ as the kpop fans say) white girl emma “baby spice” bunton. Or just a bunch of Germs’circle burns’ logo sharpied all over the mailer. ===================================== (from above, as promised) THE ORIGIN STORY (of this picture sleeve and its record) pt 1 of the origin story, so let us go back to 1979 north hollywood i was living in a 4bdr house one valley zip code over, at 14922 Bassett St, Van Nuys CA, with three other guys — one bandleader (dave of the Tremors), one record store clerk (jeff), and one “roofer” (“phil the roofer”) — and plus an angry samoans “lead guitarist” out in the full-sized (two car) empty garage with his amp, his guitar(s), and a pretty darn sizeable NEW CERVIN VEGA PA including the cabinets. At the 6621 Coldwater Canyon (at the corner of Coldwater Canyon and Victory Blvd), which back then was a “66 licensed med/surg and psych hospital beds” compound, doing business at the time as the legal entity called Community Hospital of North Hollywood (its sole owner being a practicing psych doctor a few miles away, in studio city). And yes, i was the “chief financial officer” there at CHNH hahaha, and also notice how tiny this facility was — i. Oh that machine did it once a month, or more. And i was the “one man accounting department” who at then end of each calendar month, got to manually enter/copy and move over (to the Summary General Ledger) the “detail accounting ledger” cards’s monthly totals, as one liners into each “summary trial balance” card. This is really fascinating history and i would love to talk about it all night (especially decrepit malfunctioning NCR machines), but three imaginary unpaid weekly interns have already threatened to kill me if i don’t “shut the fuck up, man, ” so i won’t. “Large corporation” (in this instance) — ok, and THEN MULTIPLY IT BY TEN OR MORE, whatever insane’corporate world’ anecdote or traumatizing event their story is that they’re trying to explain to you, etc. ” yeah yeah, point granted, but TRY DOING THAT FOR 21 STRAIGHT YEARS meaning, one job straight to the next job, twice, without one single day off in between the “old job that was pretty easy by that point” and the “new job that has an insane giant mile-high crap pile of things THAT NEED FIXING / correcting / untangling, ” in other words, an unholy mess (after the first job change up to a much bigger facility) or “a new, massive workload” (after the third and final job change, at the same address but post-merger) which was only do-able via hyper-speed on the’grunt work’ which is how yours truly survived that godawful, acrimonius Feb 1992 merger between the “Pill Hill Oakand actue care hospital world’s Hatfields and McCoys; they had heard the rundown on my uh, work output from the exiting’section head. (simple not-for-profit, prob barely 20 to 30 hours grand total)…. And gladly sqeeze them, in on the spring weekends at his desk, while the rest of the world gets their “spring / early summer” vacations! ” WITHOUT EVER BEING ALLOWED/ABLE to take even one “full vacation (meaning three weekends plus two full weekends inbtween). Aw man, now they (the authorities at large) have slapped the “white boy whining, merit badge #6″ onto my forehead. You try going 1 2 3 4 5, 6 7 8 9 10, 11 12 13 14 15 16, 17 18 19 20, then finally 21 straight years of responsible salaried carrer work, with no overtime pay ever, since you have “supervisory responsibility” of one type or another, even if it’s only (post-merger for thosee final seven years of 1992 – 1999) just a couple of “staffers” that you’re responsible (for their work if it goes sideways) WITHOUT ONE REAL VACATION ever possible. No, you can’t! ” oh well, at least i got paid, usually at a dead center “median / average” via the endless’industry salary surveys” that were used as a rule of thumb. In summary, i will respectifully defer to whateer punk rock loser penalty the keeper of rules and regulations, Rev.
