Live At Pompeii is the project from David Gilmour, and follows his critically acclaimed studio album Rattle That Lock from September of 2015. Following the release of Rattle That Lock in 2015, David Gilmour set out to play a series of concerts in historic venues across the world. On July 7th and 8th, 2016, David Gilmour performed two spectacular shows at the legendary Pompeii Amphitheatre in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, 45 years after he first played there for Adrian Mabens classic film Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii. The concerts were the first-ever rock performances played to an audience in the ancient Roman amphitheater, which was built in 90 BC and entombed in ash when Vesuvius erupted in AD 79. David Gilmour is the only performer to play to an audience in the arena since the time of the gladiators, almost 2,000 years ago. Speaking about the Pompeii shows David Gilmour commented It’s a magical place and coming back and seeing the stage and the arena was quite overwhelming. It’s a place of ghosts… Includes songs from throughout David’s career including the title tracks of his two most recent #1 solo albums: Rattle That Lock and On An Island. Also included are other solo and Pink Floyd classics such as Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb and One Of These Days, the only song that was also performed by the band in 1971. Both concerts also saw extraordinary performances of The Great Gig In The Sky from The Dark Side Of The Moon, which David rarely plays as a solo artist. The concert performance film, David Gilmour Live at Pompeii, was shot in 4k by director Gavin Elder and includes highlights from both shows. The concert is a spectacular audio-visual experience, featuring the famous huge circular cyclorama screen as well as lasers, pyrotechnics and stellar performances from an all-star band. Textured picture Sleeve is in very good if not excellent condition. The only thing that marks it down is the corners which all have rounding. The bottom edge does have very slight shelf wear. Format: 12 Vinyl LP Label : RCA Victor Cat No : SF 8287 Year: 1972 Country: UK Condition (Sleeve/Disc): EX+/EX See below for grading definitions Notes: Complete with printed inner. Glossy orange labels with “Stereo” text, no Mainman credits it has Titanic credits on the labels. The sleeve has only minor storage wear, no rips or splits. The inner has a little creasing, no splits. Please zoom in and have a good look at the photos. The record is in great condition very clean, with only a few very light surface marks. We remove all records from their sleeve, where there is a lyric inner or similar the record will also be removes and transported in a poly lined inner. All contents will the be bagged. We package our records in the best available mailers with two cardboard protective stiffeners, great care is taken with all packaging to ensure that your record arrives in the best possible condition. Auctions please pay within 4 days of the listing ending. Heavy items such as Hi-Fi equipment are excluded. Please note that all of our records are visually graded under strong light, unless otherwise stated. We stock 1000’s of records so it is impossible for us to play every record. Please feel free to request a play grade which we will happily provide. We only grade as mint where the record is brand new and sealed with no visible damage to the sleeve. It may have slight corner bumps/rub, ringwear and maybe very minor creasing. It will have no rips or splits. Record: We be in a new like condition. It may have very, very minor defects such as no more than a couple of very light wispy hairlines and a couple of spindle trails around the centre holes. Basically a record in NM condition will look like you have just got it back from the record shop or at worse only had a couple of plays. Sleeve: As NM but the signs of wear will become a little more pronounced. There may be signs of stress at the seams maybe the beginnings of a split. It may have a cut out hole indicating that it was taken out of print. There may be a little graffiti on the sleeve or label. Record: Will show signs of play but has been well looked after by the previous owner. It may show a few more light marks/scuffs than a NM. These marks won’t be deep enough to be felt. Slight warps are that don’t effect the sound are OK. Sleeve: A VG sleeve will have many of the defects found in a EX but more pronounced. Seam splits may be more obvious or may be taped or show residue. There may be small rips. Laminate may be bubbled, may be marred with writing. Record: Wear and defects will be more obvious with marks/scuffs deep enough to feel with a fingernail. Groove wear will be more noticeable. Sound deterioration and surface noise will become more likely especially during quieter passages. We don’t sell records with a lower grade than VG unless it is incredibly rare. David Bowie Five Years Vinyl Box Set. Near mint condition, vinyl records have only been played once. Extremely rare box set. Box shows minimal signs of natural wear and box contains original back cover sheet. Includes all inner sleeves and booklet. Parlophone Records are proud to announce DAVID BOWIE FIVE YEARS 1969 1973, the first in a series of box sets spanning his career. The thirteen-piece vinyl set features all of the material officially released by Bowie during the nascent stage of his career from 1969 to 1973. The Vinyl boxset includes tracks that have never before appeared on CD/digitally as well as new remasters. Exclusive to the box sets will be Re:Call 1 a new compilation of non-album singles, single versions & b-sides. It features a previously unreleased single edit of All The Madmen, which was originally set for a U. Release but was never actually released. Also included is the original version of Holy Holy, which was only ever released on the original 1971 Mercury single and hasnt been available on any release since. Also exclusive to all versions of Five Years 1969 1973 will be a 2003 stereo remix of The Rise and Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars by the albums original co-producer Ken Scott, previously only available on DVD with the LP/DVD format of the 40th anniversary edition of the album. The vinyl box set has the same content as the CD set on pressed on audiophile quality 180g vinyl. The box sets accompanying book, 84 pages in the vinyl set, will feature rarely seen photos as well as technical notes about each album from producers Tony Visconti and Ken Scott, an original press review for each album and a short foreword by legendary Kinks front man Ray Davies. An alternate cover has been created for the 2003 mix of Ziggy Stardust by Ken Scott, which features an outtake from the original Heddon Street photo session.
