The title refers to Prince’s freedom from his contract with Warner Bros. Records after 18 years, with which he had a contentious relationship. The album was Prince’s third to be released that year (along with Chaos and Disorder and the soundtrack album of the Spike Lee movie Girl 6), which made 1996 one of the most prolific years for material released by Prince. Prince & The Revolution Purple Rain LP signed by entire band withCOA Vinyl, Poster

Vinyl record and outer sleeve in very good condition though there is some wear from the record showing on the outer sleeve. See pics 1 & 11. Includes color poster and inner sleeve which are in excellent condition. Edge is perfect with the title of the record and artist name as shown in picture 12. It is in a plastic sleeve in this photo. Some info on Collectors Universe, the company issuing the COA. Forbes magazine had them at #50 in small businesses in 2013 Their website is collectors. Inside the album cover, I discovered, a few days ago for the first time, a cutout page #56 from a November 16, 1989 Rolling Stone magazine. It appears to be The Top 100/500/200 albums of the’80s? It shows Purple Rain at #2. The other side of the single page cutout is, I believe a full page, color picture of The Clash. This info MIGHT be used to determine the age of the signatures. I have seen a lot of hype regarding 1st pressing editions…… Just an FYI on this one…. The UPC code is 25110-1 Unsure if the -1 indicates 1st pressing or not….. My 1 constant companion was my devotion to acquiring new interesting vinyl which I would listen to until I felt I understood how it was created musically and what combinations of equipment and production techniques had been utilised to achieve the atmosphere of the final cut. Good time to confess that once upon a time in a galaxy far far away I was once a pretty good session guitarist in London….. And these days still love recording in my own little studio at home appropriately named “Forbidden Colours” In pursuit of this goal, and for the pure pleasure that acquiring good vinyl gave me….. I finally ended up converting the study room here into a music storage facility….. Looks like a corner of the library but with a strictly enforced’no books allowed’ policy! Within this room are contained a little over 5000 albums. I estimate it will take me 3 years to find good homes for all of them and I’m now starting month 3……. The following figures are very accurate approximations with regards to posting to any part of Australia….. 3 album up to 7 albums….. Purpose built 13inch squared cardboard box. 5 x double sheets of bubble wrap encasing the albums. Internally each bubble wrap sheet is taped in carefully in specific patterns so that when placed within the box there are no gaps and no possibility for any movement whatsoever during it’s journey to you. The album is separated into its constituent elements and packed separately so as to protect the album’s spine. RECORD GRADING & THE DETAILS SECTION. Only a few possible options exist from which I must pick the closest approximation. There are 2 other grading questions which come up later but these 2 are optional. I answer every question posed and answer them as I see them. As human beings though you it won’t come as any surprise that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure…….. Or more specifically here…… One man’s grading excellent could easily be another man’s VERY GOOD. SO WHAT TO DO…………… I TAKE DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS OF EVERY PART OF THE ALBUM…. I will normally include some background info about the band and their album as well as the full track listing. And then you’ll have done your’due diligence’ and confirm to your own satisfaction that all my included information is in fact correct or not!!
