If you are into vinyl like we are, then you know how important clean records are. Clean vinyl enhances your listening experience and extends the longevity of your stylus. Most collectors agree that a vacuum system that allows dirt an debris to sucked up and out of the record grooves is the most effective method. However almost all vacuum based systems are large and can cost as much as a high end turntable. But the VinylBug record cleaning machine is different. Our system has been designed to be high quality, easy to use, and affordable. What makes VinylBug special? VinylBug’s cleaning arm includes our exclusive microfiber system that protects your valuable vinyl. It uses soft microfiber instead of cheap glued-on velvet strips or rough hook / loop fastener material found in other systems. The microfiber is easily cleaned and quickly replaced as often as you like. Did we mention our ball bearing spindle? Or the threaded record clamp that holds your delicate vinyl safely and securely? Our clamp and platter system touches the record only by it’s label. This eliminates clean record surfaces from touching a dirty platter. The surfaces are foam padded to help seal out cleaning fluids that could damage your labels. Vacuum flow is adjustable via an airflow valve on the bottom of the unit. How does VinylBug work? By using the power of a small wet / dry vac (not included), dirt and debris is sucked up and out of your records grooves. A replacement microfiber pad. Instructions sheets and recommendations. Pattern for cutting your own replacement microfiber pads. What do buyers of VinylBug need to supply? Small wet / dry vac with 1 1/4 hose. Cleaning brushes of choice. How do you use VinylBug? Step 1: Set up VinylBug on a table or counter top. You may want to protect your work area with a towel, just in case you spill some cleaning fluid. Step 2: Plug in your wet dry vac and connect it’s 1 1/4 hose to VinylBug. Step 3: Quickly pre-clean your first record with a damp microfiber towel just to remove loose dirt and debris. Step 4: Place your record onto VinylBug’s platter and secure with the threaded record clamp. Step 5: Apply your record cleaning fluid of choice and gently brush with a soft bristle brush or another microfiber towel. Use VinylBug’s record clamp to rotate the spindle as you gently scrub. Step 6: Rotate VinylBug’s cleaning arm into place and onto your record. Turn on your wet dry vac. Rotate VinylBug’s spindle until all of the dirty cleaning fluid is sucked up and out of your records grooves. Side one is done! Step 7: Flip over and repeat for side two! It’s that easy! Each VinylBug is made to order, one at a time by Apples & String. VinylBug’s components are 3D printed in high strength PETG with the exception of VinylBug’s base which is fabricated out of 0.5 solid waterproof Black HDPE. With 3D Printing, there are always little variations in the print, they have small lines, and minor blemishes that do not harm the intended use of the product. Vinyl records in photographs are for illustration only and are not included in the package.
