Led Zeppelin 1 PLUM PRESS UK TURQUOISE EX+ Rare GREAT TOP AUDIO Complete
SERVICE YOU CAN TRUST, QUALITY ASSURED. This is a great complete PLUM TURQUOISE pressing of the classic first album from Led Zeppelin, from my own personal collection. Superb all round condition, the audio quality on this ultimate rarity is brilliant. The TURQUOISE pressing of Zep 1 has become a fabled collectable, one of the rarest in existence, and virtually impossible to find in even half way decent condition, let alone as brilliant as this one. Original PLUM PRESS Labels with. 1st ever A1 B 1 Matrix version. And Fantastic Bright Sound!! With the correct UN CROSSED. Matrix numbers, only found on original 1st ever vinyl pressings!! First released released 1969. 1st ever A1 B 1 Matrix version, with the UN corrected Matrix numbers. Later pressings had the 8’s scratched out on side 1, making this the rarest ever variant. ATLANTIC, MADE IN GT BRITAIN. Side 1 – A 1. Side 2 – B 1. MOTHER STAMPERS: Very early press. GOOD TIMES BAD TIMES 2. BABE I’M GONNA LEAVE YOU 3. YOUR TIME IS GONNA COME 2. I CAN’T QUIT YOU BABY. HOW MANY MORE TIMES. This is an exceptional 1st pressing in great condition, that plays great from start to finish. You will be very hard pressed to ever find a PLUM pressing that plays with such power and clarity! Led Zeppelin was recorded in October 1968 at Olympic Studios in London and released on Atlantic Records on 12 January 1969. The album featured integral contributions from each of the group’s four musicians and established Led Zeppelin’s fusion of blues and rock. Led Zeppelin also created a large and devoted following for the band, with their unique heavy sound endearing them to a section of the counterculture on both sides of the Atlantic. Led Zeppelin had a fully formed, distinctive sound from the outset, as their eponymous debut illustrates. Taking the heavy, distorted electric blues of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Cream to an extreme, Zeppelin created a majestic, powerful brand of guitar rock constructed around simple, memorable riffs and lumbering rhythms. But the key to the group’s attack was shaded and textured, filled with alternating dynamics and tempos. As Led Zeppelin proves, the group was capable of such multi-layered music from the start. Although the extended psychedelic blues of “Dazed and Confused, ” “You Shook Me, ” and “I Can’t Quit You Baby” often gather the most attention, the remainder of the album is a better indication of what would come later. “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” shifts from folky verses to pummelling choruses; “Good Times Bad Times” and “How Many More Times” have groovy, bluesy shuffles; “Your Time Is Gonna Come” is an anthemic hard rocker; “Black Mountain Side” is pure English folk; and “Communication Breakdown” is a frenzied rocker with a nearly punkish attack. The album brought the band exploding into the public consciousness, and marked a significant turning point in the evolution of contemporary music. ALBUM PLAYED FOR AUDIO GRADING. This great record plays up to the high visual grading and beyond. It plays with incredibly powerful and clear sound, with no groove wear or blurring of the sound separation; incredibly rare on an original 1st Ever. Strong, undistorted sound free of any loud pops or clicks. Channels are clean and unstressed. The record plays with staggering power, with a minimum of surface sound during the tracks. Great audio with minimal interference to distract form the overly enjoyment of this great record, and only light surface or static noise between the tracks. I will give a detailed account below. Beginning with the iconic’Good Times Bad Times’, the music bursts in with great clear audio, no pops or clicks and nice clean run ins. There are no pops or clicks, or even light. Moving into the wonderful’Babe I’m gonna Leave You’, which demonstrates Zeppelin’s incredible subtle production layering, with notes and effects that are usually lost on most even relatively played vinyls. Here the audio sings out with amazing clarity. This is just an. Background static at all. The music is just. Bursts out with some very light static in the run ins and quiet areas, but nothing that. Is brilliant and clear. Great music with great clarity, and so hard to find with this type of sound. One pop only in the middle of. Track, and not a hint of distortion. In fact I may as well confirm now that there is not a hint of distortion anywhere on this great vinyl. Dazed and Confused’ again plays with super clear sound, and the. Instrumental section, sounds great. The long bass intro is so. And sharp, barely a hint of surface sound. There are a couple of seconds of very faint distant. Superb clear bright sound, amazing. Smoothes in with the incredible. Time Is Gonna Come’, following nice clean run ins, the sound is great. Static and a couple of very light tics in the middle, but these are not in any way. No loud pops or clicks and very little surface sound. Amazing for such a paired dow track. Back with the upbeat. Breakdown’, the audio is just superb, with barely any audible static and clear vocal layering. I cant Quit You Babe. Between the delicate and rockous, this track can be a real test on this album, and here it sings out, with great clarity and an amazing lack of surface sound. This variable track is nearly always blighted with loud pops, clicks, buzzing crackle and distortion, but not here. Tic to be heard, just. How many More Times’, rounds off the album, again to the same. No loud pops or. All the way through every track plays with incredible definition. A total lack of loud pops, clicks, interference, and certainly no distortion anywhere on this great record, makes this a truly incredible collectable press of this ultimate rarity. The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, the vocals come through with tremendous power. Its the same with the bass guitar and drums, whilst the guitars multi layers come through crisp and clear. The tonal quality and incredible lack of any surface sound make this a sensational pressing. With the clear and extra loud First cut engineering giving the audio a vibrant sound which cannot be beaten. This great record plays with no loud pops or clicks, and absolutely No repeating noises or Sticks. A great all round example of this great vinyl that would be near impossible to ever better. A staggering first stereo mix, unlike the re-issues which lack the impact. Graded EXCELLENT to EXCELLENT PLUS. Both labels are in great condition and carry the Warner Brothers / Jewel Music Publishing credit. Famous PLUM labels are Superb, with no marks or writing, and no discernible spindle wear. A few ultra light spindle traces can be found, and they are very light! Great all round deep coloured examples, wonderful! THE RECORD VISUAL GRADING. A superb piece of glossy vinyl, and a really thick pressing. Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original early pressings, this vinyl has been little played. On initial inspection the vinyl looks largely unmarked. Seen under a spot light it does have some faint sleeve removal marks, and a few hairlines but the are light and have no effect on the sound. Unbelievable to think this vinyl is over 40 years old! VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING. Yes, NONE visible what so ever when tested be sight and on a moving turntable. These thin card covers usually faired pretty badly, with serious ring wear and destruction to the edges. The Spines are nearly always flattened, worn and un readable. There is minimal scuffing to the corners, and virtually no rubbing along the edges. The opening edges are very square and un frayed. The white areas are very white, with minimal blemishes and just a few creases on the back. The back cover is nice and clean, with very little ring wear, which is very unusual for these delicate covers. There is some light creasing and a few indentations, but nothing very serious. There is some light laminate lift along the front spine, as is nearly always the case with these rarest of covers, but again its not that noticeable. The Spine is a reasonably square example, with some light wear and creasing only, with the spine text is intact. A great solid example. All round, this is a really nice original cover that would be hard to better. VERYY GOOD PLUS TO E XCELLENT. A great condition, original white inner. NO small tears around the die cut opening, NO splits to the seams, and NO wear at the tops. Crisp and Clean, with no splits, and no writing. 1st ever PLUM PRESSING of ZEP 1. In this type of condition is scarce. The vinyl is so often played so much, heavily marked, scratched, with noisy, poor and distorted sound. Any EARLY UK PRESS examples with a record in this type of condition, that plays with TOP AUDIO is very rare. The cover is almost impossible to find without serious wear, even modestly worn examples are scarce and this one is one of the better examples. Finding a great cover like this, with a stunning piece of vinyl, fantastic! PLUM pressings are infinitely more rare than the later orange and green labels, but finding pressings that sound great is a real challenge. A 1st ever PLUM press with the 1st ever corrected A1 B 1 Matrix version is very rare indeed. THIS A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO OWN AN EXTREMELY RARE PIECE OF MUSICAL HISTORY, WITH A WONDERFUL RICH SOUND THAT IS NOW GETTING SERIOUSLY HARD TO FIND.
